Embark Behavioral Health – Livingston

If your child has a personality disorder or complex behavioral history, I'd encourage you to ask very direct questions before enrolling. As a listed guardian, I was completely cut off from communication the moment my… child indicated they didn't want me involved, with no clinical rationale offered and no attempt to engage me as a collateral source. Emails went unanswered. Detailed behavioral history I submitted was ignored. Parents seeking PHP programs are already overwhelmed, scared, and vulnerable. We come looking for a partner in our child's care. To be shut out entirely doesn't just fail the patient — it deepens the distrust and instability at home that likely contributed to the crisis in the first place. For presentations where family dynamics and manipulation patterns are clinically relevant, this program showed no sophistication and no accountability. There are better options.

Do not send your child here thinking it will solve their problems. Expect a phone call in week 7 of 8, that your child needs three more weeks. They will tell you they see this all the time and the added weeks help, then… ensure your insurance will cover it.

My 12 year old son thrived in this program. The entire staff supported him (and me) at a time that was scary and overwhelming.

My 13yo child required a very specific environment to address their challenges - flexible, compassionate, affirming, nurturing, and patient. We'd cycled through several other programs without success. I didn't learn… abut the existence of Embark's Livingston facility until I was in the process of considering residential programs. I was so relieved to learn of another option and even more relieved when we toured the facilities and met the staff. The building is full of light and color. The staff are welcoming, kind, and incredibly communicative with parents. I was incredibly impressed with the therapists and psychiatrist. My child finally felt heard and seen. While each child and their journey is unique, I am so grateful to have found Embark.

My son just completed partial care here at Livingston. They are a newer facility and so not too many people are aware of them as an option for their adolescent. When we were going through the process of finding the… right care for him (during a very critical time of need) we knew immediately. The facility is beautiful, clean and bright (my son mentioned another place that we were interviewing initially with as "depressing" and Embark is not). The staff here are very supportive, compassionate, and kind. We are so grateful for the care that our son got here. He looks forward to moving onto the next step and continuing at Embark, with the IOP program.

We are very happy with Embark. The staff and support have been amazing for our family member. We would highly recommend them . The only downfall was the driving back and forth. I wish they would help transportation.

I cannot say enough about Embark. They helped my 15 year old autistic son so much. The patience and support they had with not only him but me as a parent was stellar. I highly recommend this program if you are looking… for a PHP.
