This place really helped my family in the long run. Looking back this was the best facility and program that we ever did (and we did more than just this one). The family day really brought a new perspective and it… wasn't all about the addict. Most programs don't do that.
Critical understaffed for the amount of bodies they are trying to push thru there. This is the legal form of human trafficking they seclude people give them Trazadone without a prescription as "comfort meds" nightly… will freely give suboxzone to non opiate addicts. Case management workers are a joke using outdated options for aftercare in an effort for individuals to stay on campus for php. Insurance companies paying for this should request daily sign in sheets for group attendance because for some it's optional despite Insurance paying for it. There is no accountability for the amount of malicious fraud that tales place there.
Far too many people freely moving around there. It’s a rehab and a partial hospitalization program which means people with severe psychological problems are roaming around . The staff are aware of who the threats are,… but the patient does not. Your head always needs to be on a swivel. In my opinion it was more threatening than a holding center or jail. Couldn’t have a pair of nail clippers for safety concerns, but here’s a metal horseshoe in the horseshoe pit. I will say this, the best counselor I’ve ever had was from here, Joe.
Don’t go to this rehab.. they will “lose” your stuff and don’t make any effort to find it. They lost 2 make up bags filled with gel pens, a bag containing 5 diamond arts, and I saw stuff that I knew was mine and I told… the intake supervisor (Ashley) that I knew that it was mine and she said it was just sitting there when she came into work and she didn’t know who’s it was and she couldn’t just give it to me. Said she would watch the cameras and never did. I discharged this morning and they couldn’t even find the stuff that they didn’t know was mine. After I left I realized that I am also missing my electric tooth brush charger, I came in with 2 sonicare electric 2 brushes and they gave me one and I assumed that the other was in my property, but it’s not. It was an old one that I don’t use but I know that I had it. How convenient that my $75 toothbrush and the charger are both missing. I’m also missing my dryer sheets and some make up. They take in way too many clients at once and they can’t keep track of everyone’s shit and they mix it up and “lose” it
Please figure out your phone systems! Every call was breaking up, choppy, and in and out. This was not my service. This has been a consistent problem with your admission department phones. Please reflect on how this can… be even more stressful for a client in crisis seeking your help. Myself and other therapists have run into this issue. Admission staff- John was severely rude and hung up on me and a client when we were trying to communicate with him. He became frustrated due to HIS phone connection being insufficient and abruptly ended the call. Admission Staff- Tony was very kind and helpful and I was thankful for her information she provided. We understand you are overloaded with calls that can be redundant, I understand empathetic burnout, but it is your ethical duty to regulate this and take care of yourself. Our clients are really in a vulnerable place when reaching out to you and making a scary life decision. You have a lot of power to make change, please be more mindful! Thank you
This place had my son there and this place was horrible bed bugs let people Steal off of him did nothing about it at all. There was only one person my son said that actually helped him there. Sent him money for things… they never gave to him and didn’t allow him to have nothing I sent to him. They stole hundreds dollars worth of cloths from him and did absolutely nothing about it at all. Every time you tried to call they would give you big round around this and that. This place is filthy and I wouldn’t recommend a home going to this facility ever. When I tried to contact there counselor they was all rude very short. My son had to leave there cause he was constantly stilled off of and no one did nothing and not to mention counselor was horrible don’t go here. Terrible place
I am sober 9.5 years because of cove forge. I had previously been to Guadenzia 3 times, both Pyramids, Gateway, multiple psychiatric hospitalizations... It feels like yesterday I was at the cove... The location and… programming of cove was unlike any other. I felt supported, not medicated. I felt empowered with opportunities to understand my body and psyche. I was educated and exposed to so many helpful tools I still carry with me today. From journaling, to exercise, to nature, to meditation, to spiritual studies (Christianity), to psychology and attachment/trauma theories. I was a lost cause. I was arrested 29 times over 10 years. Had been incarcerated more times than I could count including SCI Muncy. I will never forget what your staff showed, did and helped me with. I don't know just one thing that changed things for me... I just know it was the program as a whole and the opportunities and education given that helped me find my courage to change. To gain self reflection, self discipline, self control, and self empowerment. Thank you cove forge staff for saving my life... I now have a college degree, working in nursing, have my own home (owned) on 6 beautiful country acres, two vehicles of my own, my children all back in my custody and home, and I don't take a second for granted. You found the light in me and brought it to the surface. You supported me when everyone else said I'd need medication the rest of my life to function normally. I feel proud to report, the Cove empowered me and kept a boundary to let me "try" without medication... and I am 9.5 years sober without any psych meds or MAT. You empowered me to find out who I really was as a person... My only sadness... Is that I had found the cove sooner... Maybe I could've spared my family and my children some of the pain. But we can't change the past and I do believe we are all so much stronger for it. From my heart to all of yours... I'm all in and always will be for Cove Forge.
My boyfriend was there recently and stated that his counselor was young and very unprofessional. She was from the blair county area and had no respect for privacy or HIPPA. She would join right in and conversate about… people that her and the clients knew in common. She had even gone home and mentioned to a friend that a person they knew was one of her clients. Without any consent of that person. She was very unprofessional. He was there for the gun incident recently and he said they had no protocol for that type of situation and it was a mess. She told his parole officer he missed 3 one on one sessions while there. How does that even happen, I've been to rehab if you don't show up they just come get you. He had missed one because he fell asleep, but was late for one on the day of the gun incident - she said it wouldn't count but also never offered to say hey you can make this up another day since you know there was a crisis situation on campus. There was no third one. I don't think she gave a shit about anyones recovery. Certain people wouldn't even show up or participate but if she liked you she would complete you. She gave him an unsuccessful completion- but then sent him some exactly 28 days later. It is just crazy to me that these people live there and even if they do all the work and are there on campus can get discharged with an unsuccessful completion without any kind of solution offered even. "Hey if you stay a few more days and make that up it will be successful" nothing even said just oh here you're discharged but it's unsuccessful - he even asked if there was something he could make up. And the only contact with families besides a letter is when they see their counselor they get to make a phone call for 7-10 minutes. Idk if they were all like that but she was and she was there for the whole conversation, she even chimed in during one of our conversations. Very unprofessional. He also signed releases for certain places to be contacted and at least informed that he was there, she never reached out to anyone. His parole officer ended up just going in to verify he was there. Some people just shouldn't work in a facility like that. I could add more but I won't. I'm glad years ago when I went to rehab that it was not there and feel sorry for those that do go there. He said he was stressed the whole time he was there, that's no kind of recovery experience.
This place is a hole in the wall.Im in hospital stroke level BP. Told me I was faking it. Most of these Nurses have no compassion they are dismissive and dont wanna be bothered. They gaslight you.You cannot make calls.… The most horrible expirence in my life. There are a few good ones. You know who you are.Def. dont come hear for benzo use. I may have had a different experience. If it was something else. As to you reply doubt your concerned at all From time to time I lookk here to see if theres any nw post The poitive ones are fake accounts Somwone was there in 2000s Really? And they posted that 2 weeks ago lol They show you pictures of the real houses because they are in deplorable conditions The nurses sit in there cubes and do nothing The place is ridden with wannabes and gangstas watched a poor girl harrassed and bullied out of there out of there in tears STAFF DID NOTHING Keeping it real Stop posting fake posts Cove Forge
I was in the program back in 2000 did my 28 days relapse after I was home for few weeks and took awhile but finally pulled myself together and been clean of anything for 11 years now and I don't have cravings or… anything if I see it I turn and walk the other way ,so anyways this program was what gave me the tools to do it when I was ready on my own not cause a probation officer told me i had too I enjoyed my time here and the staff and patients were the best
In my opinion the best rehab in Pennsylvania. Very polite & honest staff who neither sugarcoat the truth -- does the opposite of helping --& does not judge the patients. All fair treatment & the patients rarely do not… enjoy their time, seen many friendships develop & the staff are skilled in their field. It is in a very rural area so no Wifi but you can make landline phone calls. Expect many birds lol. All in all I recommend to anyone to grow & be inspired
Thank you Counsilor Bob & Counsilor Paige!! They were absolutely phenomenal with my loved one. My loved one has some concerning mental health diagnoses, but those two counsilors made their rehab stay the best possible.… I truly have hope in their recovery this time. They have been to multiple rehabs previously and I have never seen them this good mentally (drug and mental health wise). Thank you so much!! I'll be honest, I have read some of the reviews and got really concerned prior to them coming, but I couldn't be more thankful for the counsilors they had throughout their stay.
I had a wonderful experience here about a year and a half ago. It was my first time at a rehab or even attempting recovery. A lot of people (whom had been to other places) said they had weird policies. I have nothing to… compare it to so I really can't say. The things I liked: most of the staff. There was hardly anyone there not to like. Most of them are also in recovery. Ms. Raven! That woman is tough and she's serious about encouraging other women to find their voices and strength. She really had an impact on me and I'm usually the type to shy away from people like her. She is also very spiritual, not religious. Stick and stay and you will find out. The music program! This changed a very big part of me. I hadn't tried to sing in front of anyone since I was about 17 and embarrassed myself to death cause I choked up. But I was in the band the last 3 weeks I was there and by the last show I had no fear. They don't teach you music; it's something you kind of already have to have some sort of experience with. But Brandon and the other counselors in charge of this part are very special people and I encourage the men to really give him a chance at helping you. Last but not least...the mountains. If there's any one thing you should have when healing and reflecting it's open space far away from the city. The cons are very little things that are easy to get over if you have the right mindset. Sure the food sucks and you get in trouble for really stupid things sometimes but they take in A LOT of people so where there are masses it helps to have stupid little rules in place so you can keep track of everyone. Anyways if you're looking for help or helping someone you love I wish you luck and don't ever give up. Life is precious 💞
Love one of mine was just at this place Cove Forge. They where treat horrible, they stuff wouldn't let them call me. I didn't receive any updates on them, I am there emergency contact. I didn't get a phone call from… them when the took my loved one to the hospital until I called them as asked how they were doing. I was told by my loved one that the staff was gaslighting them. This place waited until my family member said they need to go to the hospital before sendding them and the staff couldn't see they needed medical treatment. My family member was told by the councillor Andrew that he was faking having a medical emergency. Then they told my family member to walk to the hospital while there where badly shaking and could barely walk. These people are so unprofessional.
Do not come here if you're expecting to go through severe withdrawal from fet, xylazine, and especially medetomidine they are not suited for this type of severe detoxing. They don't even offer IV treatment in the detox… ward. Go to a hospital before coming here. It took for me to go into peak withdrawal and becoming a stroke potential before having ambulance get me and even at that they put it on me to decide whether they called 911 or not. Due to a week stay in hospital before coming back that week didn't count as my stay time. They definitely pushed off thinking I was over exaggerating my daily usage and making it seem I was seeking meds. Great place if you make sure to abide by their rules and sort of suck things up, one phone call per week 10 mins tops not always promised you have to do some of the reaching out. If you don't speak whats on your mind you're going to have lacking treatment.
This is the only place that ever worked for me out of my 20 plus years of addiction😄😄😄💯.
My husband is here and I have not talked to him 😕 this is insane reading all these reviews and not talking to him is making things worse! family deaths an I can't even let him know cause no one wants to relay… messages!!! Crazy no updates from his counselor or nothing..people do have children to that miss there loved ones in there a time limit to speak to their children an loved ones is bizarre!!! Wonder why people hook up in these places cause you hold them hostage and make them go insane and not speak to their loved one clearly!
I've not been here as a patient, i'm just wondering why are all adults? And they won't allow you to be on the phone longer than five minutes, and why the hell the staff do they brainwash? You like in thinking that they… can control you?And why the hell did this state police do anything? My boyfriend's in there right now and it's crazy
I was a patient there proud to say I just celebrated 3 years of sobriety. They really do try their best here, they have a full schedule to keep you busy, pastor John’s words still stick with me! The facility is a nice… campus, I never felt unsafe there. The detox staff are amazing people! I was going through a lot during that phase and they were very understanding and helpful. They accommodated me the best way they could to keep me comfortable. I still remember the one aids name, Allie. When people help you during a hard time it’s people like that who keep you going! If you’re looking to get sober this is a good structured place to start!
If I could give a lower rating I would. They medically discharged me to get a fake leg resized then drug me along for 2 days about bringing me back to tell me I couldn't come back. Then said they sent my meds to a… pharmacy and never did. This is why people fail.
Horrible facility. You’re better off in active addiction. Would rate a zero if I could.
If I could, I would absolutely live at Cove Forge forever!! This place has helped me tremendously... the best facility by far for drug and alcohol dependency combined with behavioral health services in my opinion and… I've spent a very good amount of time at others and at Cove Forge and yes, I'd recommend this program/rehab/treatment center for sure!!! Very professional staff who are friendly, kind, and caring at the same time! This place has been my life saver literally on several occasions, ya just gotta keep trying every time if you fail just try again and do not give up, ever! You'll see that this beautiful thing called LIFE is SO VERY MUCH worth the effort and determination. Take care of yourself first and foremost then everything else will "magically" fall into place... BEYOND YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. I PROMISE. 🫶🏻
I was there on 6/22/25 till 7/25/25 I got my coin and certificate. I was like everyone else hated being there I wanted to go home but I must say after I almost walked out I was able to get the medicine taper back up to… where I felt comfortable. There is room for improvement when it comes to the medicine and to get seconds at breakfast lunch and dinner. I was always hungry thankfully I was able to collect snacks. I truly enjoyed the fellowship there and some of the counselors really want to help. And can't forget about the tecs they go out of there way to help. Everyone has a different experience but if your there to work on yourself and just get sober and work on your sobriety I will recommend this place to anyone. I just got over 3 months sober and will continue to celebrate my sobriety from now on. Thank you for helping achieve that goal.
My relative was just there . Seen a counselor 2 x in 2 weeks. Rehab? Sounds like a joke. Rehab is just a stay out of jail card. Unbelievable.
A Living Nightmare — Cove Forge Is a Hellhole Masquerading as Rehab Cove Forge in Williamsburg, PA, is not a rehabilitation center — it is a warehouse of human suffering, a festering ground of neglect, abuse, and… institutionalized trauma. I spent 16 days in their inpatient facility, and what I witnessed was more like a prison run by indifference and chaos than any form of medical or therapeutic treatment. Within days of arriving, I watched a body bag being wheeled out of Detox A. The staff acted like this was routine — no alarm, no emotion, just cold, mechanical efficiency. That moment set the tone for everything that followed: death, silence, and cover-up. I was threatened by another patient, and when I went to staff for help, I was told they “didn’t have time for this.” Those exact words. Not only did they fail to protect me, they made it clear that our safety meant nothing to them. Vulnerable people were thrown into the same space with violent, unstable individuals and left to fend for themselves. The detox unit is coed, which in practice means that women are sexually harassed, groped, and stalked daily by male patients — with full knowledge of staff. Predators thrive in that environment because Cove Forge enables them. I saw men who were clearly heterosexual suddenly “identify” as women just to get access to the female units. No one cared. No one intervened. Gang members ran the halls like they owned them. Drugs circulated openly. People were extorted, bullied, and broken. Staff turned a blind eye to everything, either too apathetic or too overworked to care. Cove Forge is not a place for healing — it is a crucible of re-traumatization and psychological decay. Veterans were denied access to VA services, kept away from liaisons, and lied to about their treatment options. The very people who served this country were left to rot in a system that chewed them up and spit them out with no dignity, no respect, and no help. I left Cove Forge more damaged than I entered. I saw people relapse inside the facility. I saw people mentally snap. I saw people give up hope completely. Do not send your loved ones here. Do not go here. If you are in crisis, this place will finish what your addiction started. Cove Forge is not just a bad rehab — it is dangerous.
A Dangerous and Negligent Facility — Avoid Cove Forge at All Costs I was a resident at Cove Forge Behavioral Health in Williamsburg, PA, for 16 days, and I can say without hesitation that it is one of the most… mismanaged, dangerous, and unethical rehabilitation centers I have ever encountered. This facility is not a place of healing — it is a deeply dysfunctional, unsafe environment where vulnerable people are further traumatized rather than helped. During my short time there, I personally witnessed a patient being wheeled out of Detox A in a body bag. The severity of this incident alone should raise immediate red flags, but it was just one example of the chaos and neglect that defines Cove Forge. I was harassed and threatened by another patient, and when I alerted staff, I was told flatly that they “didn’t have time for this.” The staff showed no interest in resident safety or intervention. There is a complete lack of accountability or even basic concern for patient wellbeing. I saw blatant extortion, intimidation, and sexual harassment happening daily. Female patients were constantly groped and harassed by male residents, particularly in the coed detox unit, which is an utterly inappropriate and unsafe arrangement. Disturbingly, men who clearly identified as heterosexual were claiming to be transgender and were housed with female residents, leading to further discomfort and risk for the women in those quarters. Gang activity and drug dealing were rampant inside the facility, and many patients described being retraumatized rather than rehabilitated. Instead of treatment, Cove Forge serves as a holding pen for criminal activity, abuse, and institutional indifference. Even more appalling was the treatment of veterans. I heard multiple veterans complain that they were denied access to VA liaisons and not referred to the appropriate services. This is not only unprofessional — it is potentially a violation of federal standards for veteran care. This place is an absolute disgrace to the field of addiction recovery. It is unsafe, unethical, and unworthy of the trust of anyone seeking help. If you or a loved one are considering treatment, do not go to Cove Forge. Your safety, dignity, and recovery are far too important to risk at a facility like this.
My daughter was at Cove Forge for almost 3 months. It was the furthest she'd ever managed to get through the rehab process and she was excited to be moving to a halfway house and waiting for a place. That was when Cove… Forge staff showed the most astounding insensitivity by announcing to her out of the blue that she had to leave, pretty much within 24 hours, and that I had to come get her because her "insurance had stopped." They had apparently known about this for a week already but had chosen not to tell her because, according to the group leader who actually announced this imminent departure to her **in front of her group** (??!), people get "antsy" when you give them warning... I don't even have words for the stupidity of this. I called her counselor and left a long voicemail explaining that if she was discharged now with no further plan she would relapse, and to please give it a day or two so we could try and sort something out. I had talked to her insurance provider in the meantime and they themselves weren't sure why she was being discharged since normally her coverage was good until Medicaid kicked in. But Cove Forge insisted they had "tried everything" and told her she had to go. She did. She walked out distraught, and has now completely relapsed and is back on the street. I'm disgusted by the attitude of staff at that place. When her counselor finally called me back hours later that day, he never even told me she had already left and sounded like he just could not care less. In fact he was continuing a conversation with someone else while talking to me. Oh and she had caught a nasty case of strep throat the previous week and was not allowed to see a nurse about it for several days by which time she could hardly talk. Nice. Maybe she was just unlucky and got those burned-out staff who don't care and should have left and found another job, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
How you let a first timer at rehab die at your hands . Poor guy with 15 year abuse history passes away tge first night he’s there. You guys neglect much. This is insane. I hope there a lawsuit here
