About Crittenton Services – Wheeling

Crittenton Services operates from 2606 National Road in Wheeling. The site sits in Ohio County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Benwood, Bethlehem and McMechen. West Virginia draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.

Residential treatment and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at Crittenton Services

Residential treatment and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

Crittenton Services Address, Location and Contact Information

The address is 2606 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003, in Ohio County. The catchment reaches Benwood, Bethlehem and McMechen. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.

Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

Horrible place my gf was there last year for about 5 months. She was having excruciating pain and they refused to take her to the doctor she had similar trouble when she was diagnosed with COVID it took almost two weeks… for them to take her to the doctor while she was pregnant and the Director there even told her she was faking and wasn't sick several of the staff were also very nasty towards the girls and they were made too walk up and down several flights of stairs multiple times a day. Not to mention these pregnant girls were housed with other girls with severe behavioral and mental issues a girl was assaulted while my pregnant girlfriend was there as well

This place will always and forever have a place in my heart. Now that I am home I can truly say I miss the girls and the staff. I cant put into words how grateful I am that I went there. My heart will never be the same… that is for sure. This facility may be chaotic and drama-filled but its so helpful. 10/10 recommend for any girls needing support and love. They gave me a fresh start in life. ❤️❤️

I was here when i was pregnant with my son and my oldest was 7 months. I was very high risk. They wouldn't take me to the doctor. I told them i was having labor feelings and they didnt believe me and instead made me… walk up and down the stairs. I ended up getting nauseous and throwing up all my food. I asked them for a banana (that was my biggest craving with my son) and they wouldn't even give it to me. They let a staff member steal $600 from me, my brand new phone, my social and birth certificate, my daughters social and birth certificate. The judge made them pay me back $700 but that wasnt the pount. Right after i got out, i ended up having my son 2 months early. I got out 9-11-2019. I had him 9-22-2019 and he wasn't due until November 21, 2019. Where i was high risk and supposed to be on bed rest, them making me walk those stairs and stuff pushed me into an early labor. 🙃 The only good person there was Ms. Heather. Shes the obly one that actually cared about us girls. This place is not healthy for pregnant mothers. Not healthy for children.

It’s so run down & not a nice looking place, they don’t watch over their girls there & they can just walk away whenever they want!! definitely not somewhere you would want to send someone!!

Probably better not even attempt it. Not being allowed to take a picture of the ran down place is reason enough for me to see why they shun on it. Very very disgusted.
