How Much Does Treatment at KCUS Klinika za Psihijatriju Cost?

KCUS is a large general university hospital rather than a dedicated addiction residential or detox provider, so the broader Bosnia and Herzegovina market figures are included here as general context only — for instance residential-style care in the area runs to roughly 11,000KM–32,000KM (£5,000–£14,000) — rather than a like-for-like quote for this clinic. As a public hospital operating around the clock, access is generally arranged through the Sarajevo Canton health insurance fund, with eligibility depending on residency and insurance status rather than being open to overseas visitors.

Contact the clinic’s patient information line directly to ask exactly how its addiction-related care is organised, what an emergency versus elective admission involves, and what happens if an inpatient stay needs to run longer than planned.

KCUS Klinika za Psihijatriju Reviews

Sarajevo’s main university hospital welcomes reviews from patients, from relatives who have supported someone through an admission, and from clinicians who have referred a patient to the clinic — each perspective helps someone else considering care here.

Beyond reviews, it’s worth weighing the clinic’s standing as part of a major university clinical centre with senior specialist leadership and round-the-clock service. A good question to ask directly is how the clinic’s addiction-related care is organised alongside its general psychiatric wards.

I want to share a positive experience with the work of the laboratory at the DIP of the University of Sarajevo Clinical Center. The waiting room used to be full, crowded and of course there was a long wait for service.… Today, 21.10.26, I finished everything in ten minutes. There are patients as before, but everything goes very quickly and the organization is excellent.

I am writing about my experience from a pediatric clinic, pediatric surgery department. I was lying there with my son who was 3 months old at the time. The attitude towards patients is terrible, mothers who accompany… their children do not have a bed, but sit on a chair all day. You have to beg the doctor to tell you what it is and what the child's findings are, and the nurses are rude and impolite. SHAME ON YOU COLLECTIVELY!

We are delighted. Bravo Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic! Thank you to everyone and especially Prof.dr. Behija Hukeljić Berberović for the successful procedure on a patient in his 10th decade. According to my father,… everyone there is kind and professional.

This morning I had an appointment with a gastroenterologist at 10:30. People come in through the gate, and they came after me. I waited patiently for over two and a half hours, all the time on my feet, because there… aren't enough chairs in the waiting room. When I reacted to that, the lady at the register said to me: What am I going to do...you go in to see the doctor and tell him!!? The doctor won't bother with any more booklets and appointments. Horrible... what can I say about that. Unprofessionalism, incompetence, lack of empathy, etc. In the end, I took the booklet and had to leave. I wasted three hours, my nerves and didn't get anything done. What can I say, a big ZERO!! They don't care about us ordinary citizens, who regularly pay for health insurance. God forbid, they got it back!!

The operation went very well; the doctors and nurses were mostly very kind and helpful. The only problem was with the payment. Although our international travel health insurance had emailed us a confirmation of… coverage, we had to pay the bill on site. Due to language difficulties and the cashier, it took two hours to settle everything. It was clear she only wanted cash. Euros weren't accepted, only KM. We give the doctors and nurses five stars, but the bureaucracy zero.

Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to file a complaint about the attitude of some doctors and nurses towards patients at the Gastroenterology Clinic. I am aware that the job of healthcare workers is difficult and responsible,… but I believe that this is not an excuse for an unkind, arrogant and unempathetic attitude towards people who come to the hospital because they are sick and need help. No one comes to the hospital because they want to, but because they are in trouble, scared and worried about their health. This morning I had a particularly unpleasant experience with a doctor in gastroenterology. While talking to a patient, he yawns, acts disinterested and arrogant and practically does not allow the patient to speak and explain his problems. I believe that every patient deserves to be listened to and addressed with basic respect by a doctor. Also, in the catheterization/catheterization department, some nurses address patients in a raised tone and behave nervously and hysterically. Such attitude further disturbs people who are already in fear and uncertainty about their health condition. We are not asking for special treatment or any privilege. We are only asking for what every patient deserves – respect, understanding, patience and a little human empathy. Healthcare workers have taken a professional oath and have chosen a job in which the relationship with the patient is as important as the professional help they provide. If someone no longer has patience and understanding for patients, I believe they should consider whether the job they are doing is really for them. I ask the authorities to take this complaint seriously and to pay attention to the communication and relationship of the staff towards patients. Patients should not leave the hospital feeling like they are a nuisance to someone just because they came to seek help. With respect

Nasty, absolutely nasty. The doctors are awful, they don't let you speak a word, they put words in your mouth. In addition, the way to the hospital is awful — you would think that the central hospital of the state would… have better directions and a better road. The nearest parking lot is paid, although it is not even close to the hospital itself, while the nearest one that is not paid is much further away. It takes about 2 km to get there, all uphill, through shops. Imagine a person with problems that prevent him from walking for a long time... Also, there is not a single sign showing where the hospital itself is. Inside is no better — the elevator only goes to the 3rd floor, the light barely works, and there is only one air conditioner and about 6 chairs in the waiting room. You can wait up to 4 hours, if not longer. They let interns be with you during the examination without asking, which is ILLEGAL!!!!! My personal experience was with Dr. Horvat — I don't know how she does this job. Not for kids at all, uses scientific and Latin words/descriptions with minors who naturally have never heard those words. Doesn't let the parent speak, even though she — again — works with MINORS. 2 years old- no weaning plan whatsoever. Too strong doses for kids. Under no circumstances should you take your kids here. Go where it's closer to you, better service is guaranteed.

I've been calling Oncology on all possible numbers for 15 days, just to make an appointment for a regular check-up, no one answers, so....I, an oncology patient, have to come in person for one minute of work, change 3… means of transportation in this heat, faint somewhere, because someone hates picking up the phone and answering. 0, a big 0. As a medical worker, I can only say that I am ashamed of my colleagues at the Clinical Center. Unreasonably arrogant, extremely unkind and without empathy. They learned in school what psychological support… for the patient and family means, but it seems that they have not spent a day in school. In short, a sad picture of the clinical center of the capital. I sincerely hope that karma will return everything to these "personalities".

I'm writing about the Pediatric Clinic. As for the doctors, they are really nice, professional, kind. The technicians are a perfect ten. All the best. Expertise, availability in every second, all praise. As a foreign… citizen, accompanied by my three-year-old child, I paid MY presence 69km. Come on, the price is more or less, but pay to get a chair that you can sit on all night, at least the chair is free 🙃 The management and the price list are pure 0, no one can get rich on someone else's misfortune.

You really are making fun of us patients! Today I had an appointment for a color doppler of the veins. I was lucky, because I waited "only" two months for one. They called me and another lady and sent us together to a… general practitioner, who told both of us that there was no need for a color doppler. We could barely walk! I got a report that at the end said that the appointment was actually a check-up, which is beyond belief! Based on what, a check-up!? What I said when asked about old diagnoses was written. And then doctors in the media talk about how patients come when it's too late, that we are our own doctors... Now I ask you, what would a person do after today's experience!? I'm coming home in the heat, with unfinished business. My brain is boiling like a fire, because of injustice and stupidity. At the moment I thought I was going to have a stroke. And all of that because I went to the doctor! Will anyone be "touched" by these reviews? No!

I came to the hospital due to an emergency. Even though I don't speak the language, everyone was as helpful as they could. The doctors spoke English, so communication wasn't difficult. They explained everything very… clearly and answered all my questions. The emergency examination fee wasn't too expensive either. It's a place you can go to if you have a problem.

Respect, stop terrorizing dialysis patients with air conditioning, people in this heat are lying with hats on their heads because they are cold and when asked to turn off the air conditioning they do not respond and… behave very rudely, it just happened to me that a dialysis patient who was going home got sick when he went out for some fresh air and started vomiting and has a fever. Every time we ask the nurses not to turn on the air conditioning but there is no help

I've been at the DIP until now and I've drawn blood several times without any problems, but this time one "Elwin" was really rude, he didn't even put enough alcohol because he rubbed cotton on my dry skin and it wasn't… dry at all, and after I reacted naturally to his unpleasant sting, he muttered what's wrong with you. I would file a complaint if I knew it would lead to appropriate sanctions, but knowing our devil system, I would waste time and effort. I just want to know where to get such rude and unprofessional staff

I would like to express my immense gratitude and deep respect to the entire staff of the intensive care unit at the Old Children's Surgery. My sister (Zana Jakupovic) is currently hospitalized in this department, and in… one of the most difficult moments for our family, we encountered exceptional expertise, humanity and warmth that is difficult to describe in words. I would like to express my special gratitude to the head of the department, Dr. Sunita Beharić, as well as Dr. Azra Alihodžić, who showed not only top professionalism but also incredible humanity, patience and willingness to explain, listen and provide hope at all times. Although I do not know the names of all the nurses and other medical staff, I would like to emphasize that all of them, without exception, were attentive, dedicated and extremely professional. Their work, calmness and care for patients leave a strong impression and give a sense of security in the most difficult moments. Thank you for doing a job that is not only medicine, but also true care for people. This department deserves every praise and respect.
