Hôpital Marmottan Detox and Rehab Services
Hôpital Marmottan is a public addiction treatment centre in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, operated by GHU Paris Psychiatrie et Neurosciences and holding CSAPA status. It combines free, anonymous outpatient consultations with a small inpatient unit for people affected by cannabis, cocaine, heroin, other opioids, synthetic drugs, ketamine, GHB, or gambling. It states that it does not carry out alcohol withdrawal, which is arranged elsewhere.
Treatment draws on psychotherapy — including hypnosis, integrative and systemic approaches, and motivational work — alongside medical care, harm reduction, peer support groups and dedicated clinics for young people and chemsex. Individual and group sessions and addiction counselling are recorded, though the exact mix depends on the programme, so it’s worth checking what applies.

How Much Does Treatment at Hôpital Marmottan Cost?
Hôpital Marmottan is a public hospital service, and consultations are free and anonymous, funded through the French national health system rather than charged directly, with access depending on residency rather than aimed at overseas visitors. As market context, private outpatient addiction care in the Paris area typically runs to around €1,000–€3,500 (£900–£3,000) monthly, and private medical detox to around €5,200–€16,000 (£4,500–£14,000) — figures describing the private market rather than Marmottan’s own costs.
Get in touch directly to confirm how the inpatient unit is funded and accessed, and ask what, if anything, would not be covered — particularly if you’re considering the specialist clinics for chemsex, synthetic drugs or young consumers.

Hôpital Marmottan Reviews
Anyone with direct experience of Hôpital Marmottan — as a patient, a family member who supported someone through treatment, or a professional who has referred into the service — is welcome to add a review here to help others deciding where to seek care.
When weighing this centre up, look beyond reviews to its accreditation by the Agence Régionale de Santé (ARS) Île-de-France and its status within GHU Paris Psychiatrie et Neurosciences, alongside its multidisciplinary clinical team. It’s worth asking directly what a first anonymous consultation actually involves.
Addiction is an illness that also destroys families. It is essential that the hospital take the time to welcome, explain, and guide the family and friends from the very beginning of the process. We are not addiction… experts: the distress of a mother or loved one should not be seen as madness, but as a cry for help. Educating and supporting families gives the patient a real chance to recover.
I am addicted to online role-playing games that you take part in with other virtual companions, also known as MMORPGs.
If I could give zero stars, I would... I don't recommend them... they're not motivated and too slow, and the patient gets worse... the people who work there need to leave and be replaced with new people who know how to… work... since my son went to this hospital, he's worse and uses more fluids than before...
Hello, Do you know roughly how long it takes to get clean before receiving treatment? I managed to find a rehabilitation program, but I can't find a place to get clean, and unfortunately, my PC (Personal Care Plan)… isn't going to wait much longer... So if anyone sees this message and can help me... I really want to get better, but I'm starting to have serious doubts... I live in Nantes, but I'm ready to do anything to start my treatment... Thank you in advance.
I'm 54, a new chapter begins. I was recently hospitalized at Marmottan. I thank the entire team. Unfortunately, I've had a few stays. But each time, I turned out well. If you truly want to be treated, listen to the… professionals. It's a place where you feel understood, despite my personality. Arrivedechi. Marie, Jacques, François, and Thierry, you're going to retire. You've done a remarkable job. You can't truly imagine your work. There's a whole team behind you who are at the forefront. Simon, my friend, it's impossible to forget everything. Karim, you're a true person, Nael, keep going until the end. Felippe, you're practically part of the furniture with your Chinese ping-pong antics. Marie, Marseille, straight to the point. PSG in goal, worse than the chili peppers from your region. Jacques François, happy retirement! And Thierry, the king of puzzles, crosswords, etc. Simon at the piano I'm not saying goodbye We can't forget 15 days to be free I'm packing my bags, I'm leaving France Portugal is a good situation Don't forget the memory of the elders Using many things could be lost Bye to everyone I didn't mention all the names Bye everyone You were in Tahiti, Mario, I didn't get to see your joyful look Not forgetting the Chiatsu guru plus Close guard of Marmottan I'm not mentioning his first name, a surprise for those who don't know him Baptiste remains to give you a proper send-off I'm not saying goodbye As your David used to say Each to their own path, etc. An indelible parenthesis to Romeo
You have helped me to stop believing in anything; I no longer have any hope of recovery thanks to you.
This is a good hospital, all the staff are friendly, thank you very much for your care
I wish to express my deepest gratitude to the entire team at this facility, who have been exceptional. Their support has always been caring, motivating, and imbued with positive energy. From the very first day, I was… impressed by their thoroughness and attentiveness. Ms. Bacoup and Dr. Le Quere stand out for their professionalism and genuine dedication. I am sincerely grateful for the time they gave me and the invaluable help they provided. The telephone reception staff are also very friendly, which further enhances the quality of service. This is a facility that truly cares for people! I highly recommend it.
I would like to give my opinion on the Marmottan hospital in the 17th arrondissement as a patient there for 8 months. The staff are kind, professional, understanding and helpful; and when I say staff I mean all the… staff (reception, psychologists and psychiatrists, e.g., Mrs. Camille who helped me a lot, the nurses, e.g., Mr. Alexandrou, I hope I spelled the name correctly and so on). Everyone there demonstrates professionalism, kindness without exaggeration and helpfulness.
Excellent hospital, the reception immediately puts you at ease, the director (Mario) always has a smile, all the nurses are very helpful and attentive, you never feel judged, and the doctors are very professional. BRAVO… to the Marmottan team, you do an excellent job!
In Marmottan, you'll find the best addiction specialists, psychologists, and doctors in France 💯. The whole team is friendly. Eric, Mario, Guillaume, and many more...
After numerous reschedulings on their part, it took me over a month to get an appointment with a nurse (and even then, it was only because they had cancelled an appointment the same day, leaving a message on their… answering machine less than two hours before, and I hadn't listened because I was getting ready to come in—I felt a bit sorry for them in their confusion, and five days later I finally had an appointment that was honored). Then it took almost two months to get an appointment with a therapist. And I arrive at my appointment today at 11:00 AM, as noted during the last phone conversation with the nurse, 20 minutes early (I wanted to go to the church, practically leaning against it, but there was a funeral), but the receptionist can't find me on the schedule. I politely told her it was impossible to tell me that, that I'd been waiting three months for an appointment that had already been rescheduled countless times. She went to check with the nurse who had seen me, and five minutes later, the nurse told me the appointment was at 10:00. A joke. From "I'm not in the schedule" to "the appointment was at 10:00." Such bad faith, perfectly reflecting the political correctness of this society. Because even if the appointment had been at 10:00, the therapist himself could have told me since, presumably, I was still within my time slot, given that I arrived 20 minutes early. But no, I'm crazy, of course! Really? It's one thing not to want to see someone, but to string them along for three months! I'm not a priority, and I can completely understand that, but still, respect is due when someone comes to you because they say they're in psychological distress and can't seem to get anything done, when they tell you about some of their traumas and all they need is to be listened to, heard, and for someone to explain their brain, which, after years of overheating in survival mode, has simply given up. But just like physically, my neurodivergence, which I can no longer hide since the trauma of confinement, loneliness, and abandonment due to Covid, forced into a 15-square-meter apartment, triggered all my childhood and adolescent traumas thanks to the mental support of my family, which led to depression after my burnout. This difference that everyone sees but no one wants to let me diagnose means that the only thing I have left is my face, my illusion. And yeah, the mental is much less visible than the physical, obviously. It's all well and good to have programs like "My Psychological Support," but if we can't access them because, as usual, we never fit the right categories (yes, that's the problem. I don't fit anywhere. That was really the final confirmation I needed), I'd like someone to tell me at what point you're giving me the motivation to fight for my life at 38? For whom? For what? When I've been doing that since I was little, fighting for a society that still doesn't want me. Am I perhaps a little oversensitive? Seriously! Maybe I had a good reason to go to therapy? Anyway, I'm sharing my experience. I will obviously never make an appointment with you again, for obvious reasons of loss of trust due to a lack of respect. Everyone is free to try their luck. I'm thinking I might have a better chance of being heard if I write a book. But you still have to find the strength to do it when you're living in utter loneliness in the heart of Paris. In the meantime, I'm going back to die in my corner. Life's a punishment.
Very friendly and attentive staff!
I've been going there since 2008, the team is great and competent, the only downside is the long wait on site
All the doctors are very competent. For example, without listing them all... I'll mention just one, Dr. Eric Jérôme... For example ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
They're the best! They're incredibly kind and attentive. They don't judge any condition—it's amazing! I've never met such understanding people. I recommend them to everyone; for any problem, they're the best.
You'll find the best addiction specialists in France here. Anonymous and free. The building has been completely renovated inside. There's often a wait for hospitalization, treatment, and appointments, but it's worth the… wait. They don't specialize in alcohol, but all addictions are treated together (drugs, alcohol, and even eating disorders, video games, etc.). They offer outpatient services, general practitioners, and a gynecologist. Hospitalization is fairly short for detox, but you can extend your stay in other centers. It's the perfect place to take a break, reflect, develop a treatment plan, regain strength, and find hope. For many, Marmotan is the beginning of a long road to recovery. The team and doctors are compassionate, reliable, and truly exceptional people, despite the high demand and the many people suffering. People come here when they've lost their footing. Trust them. The restrictions on hospitalization are all there for valid reasons. Don't be afraid to seek treatment or be hospitalized; the unknown is always uncomfortable, but the team will quickly put you at ease. You'll be surrounded by competent and empathetic professionals. The only downside: the waiting time. The patient-doctor relationship is one of equals. Ten years ago, this hospital and Dr. Marc Valeur saved my life, I'm convinced of it. I never would have believed I could become the person I am today. Marmotan might be a stepping stone or your lifeline; give yourself that chance.
Really very good
Run for the hills unless you're not addicted to toxic substances. Irresponsible and dishonest staff. They decided not to admit me after three pre-admission appointments, even though I was supposed to be admitted next… week. Irresponsible staff. If I ever overdose, they will be entirely responsible. Avoid at all costs being treated by Dr. Juliette Rodriguez, who doesn't know the subject she's supposed to specialize in. In short, this "hospital" is nothing but a facade, an artificial place where, instead of helping you, the caregivers are busy perfecting their hypocrisy.
Incomparable, a very human touch with attentive and persevering staff. I recommend it 10,000%. Having done more than ten treatments in different places, this is by far the best.
This is the fourth time I've tried to give my opinion, but it's censored each time. In short, this hospital has no available beds in the addiction unit. The addiction unit is practically unreachable; we tried from March… to September 2020, and the phone either rings unanswered or we get a "no more beds" message and are told to call back in two months. Basically, if you're waiting for treatment, well, you can wait forever.
Excellent hospital, I actually work there
