How Much Does Treatment at Abbeycare Cost?

Abbeycare is primarily a private-pay clinic, and detox and residential rehabilitation in the Erskine area typically range from around £6,000 to £18,000 a month for detox and £10,000 to £30,000 a month for residential rehabilitation. Abbeycare Reviews

Former residents, family members who supported someone through treatment, or professionals who have referred to Abbeycare are welcome to leave a review of their experience with the clinic.

Abbeycare is registered with the Care Inspectorate. A useful question to ask before admission is what the fast-track process involves if you need to start treatment quickly, and how a publicly funded referral through an NHS health board would be arranged if that route applies to you.

spent 12 weeks at abbeycare recently only left 3 weeks ago. it was the best thing i have done in my life totally life changing. the therapists were out of this world and couldnt do enough for me aswell as my keyworker… megan went above and beyond , i went through some heartbreaking times in treatment all the staff were so caring and supportive through it all, i couldnt fault the place or staff i had some of the hardest days of my life in there but also the best times the staff really do want the best for you and support you on your journey. the aftercare support and team are also amazing.

Been in abbeycare for 28 days and it’s changed my life my key worker kristi was amazing from helping me with my housing for the council, my personal independence form and pushing my appointments with the ADHD clinic I… couldn’t thank her enough she’s dealt with every hurdle I couldn’t jump, the Therapists Fahad,Dave,Justin and Trisha where also amazing taught me so much mechanisms to deal with my addiction I honestly couldn’t thank Abbeycare anymore thank you much appreciated Thomas

I spent 11 weeks at Abbey Care and left a week early because I couldn't take it anymore. Most of the management showed no real care, I was even told at one point to take my funding elsewhere. I arrived straight from a… psychiatric clinic on a heavy mix of medication, and I left in a far worse state than when I went in. I would seriously look at other options first. If this is your only hope, try it, you may have a different experience than I did. I'm now over a year sober and off most of my medication, but that's entirely down to my own work, not the care I received there.

Abbeycare, erskine, shall continue to refute any allegations against them. The staff, likely highly paid,, are however in denial regarding their inadequate service. But for a nurse, I was unable to consult with… professional employee's but . Post discharge, Abbeycare have been entirely dismissive. Abbeycare should be ashamed... At great cost the service is not empathetic, non holistic, not client centered. Abbeycare is a capitalistic organisation, solely for financial gain. As a retired health care professional, I know what is correct. Abbeycare's provision is far from appropriate. The Care Inspectorate have been informed, however.... As per most organisations, they shall tick boxes on their form and get paid, without looking in depth.

**Unprofessional and Unscientific** I attended Abbeycare in July 2024 and while most of the staff are very helpful, the food was top notch, and the therapy was helpful, albeit outdated and unscientific being based on 12… step recovery, I had a very negative experience. I had to cut short my 12 week stay down to 3 weeks due the impact of the lack of support for my mobility issues, which are considerable, and also my mental and neurological health. I suffer from debilitating pain conditions and also ME/CFS, I'm also neurodivergent along with having mental health diagnoses. I arrived with my usual crutches and wheelchair. I am an ambulatory wheelchair user which means for me that any periods of standing or walking longer that one minute result in almost unbearable pain and exhaustion for me. But I was denied use of my wheelchair due to the facilities lack of access and support, and I was denied access to my doctor prescribed pain medication in the first week, in fact they discarded the medication that I had brought with me! They eventually relented but after a week of pain. I was also continually forced to walk around a building of considerable size in order to attend sessions and eat meals. One member of staff even had the absolute audacity to say to me that "you'll be throwing those things away by the time you leave here" when seeing me struggling through the building on my crutches! He was not medically qualified to make such an assessment. Nothing was voluntary and the punishing schedule never let up. I tried to tell staff about the pain I was in and the exhaustion I was experiencing but it largely fell on deaf ears and I felt unheard and excluded. I soldiered on as best I could but with each passing day my mental and physical health deteriorated ,and eventually I had to call family to come and basically 'rescue' me essentially. It took me 3 weeks of complete bed rest to recover from what should have been a therapeutic experience. I felt completely invalidated, and it was heavily implied that my physical health was a result of my substance use! I have had several pain conditions since birth so that blows their bs theory out the window right off the bat. I have, to date, received not one apology for the disregard they gave to my health and for being treated like a lying, devious degenerate for requesting pain relief. For essentially being imprisoned and denied access to my mobility aid. Anyone thinking of attending this rehab, particularly if you have disabilities - AVOID!

Abbeycare Scotland was one of the most hardest but best thing’s I have ever done for myself. The program should definitely be the blueprint for every rehab facility, this has been the third attempt at treatment and I… believe i completed the full 84 days because of the support and encouragement from both staff and therapists. I have a child at 3years old and got extra visits to help us keep that strong attachment. I would be dead if it wasn’t for Abbeycare and I will be forever greatful for my experience at abbeycare, I would recommend Abbeycare to anyone seeking help with alcoholism or addiction especially if you have underlying trauma the group therapy and 121 therapy has helped me look at the behaviours behind my addiction and helped me to start to change them.

Worst rehab ever. When I was there my Jewllery went missing. I was gravely sick and instead of helping me they kicked me out keeping the money. Don’t ever go to this rehab. Worst staff and worst management and god… forbid if you see the chef there may god help you. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

I appreciate this is a slightly different review to those usually written. I would like to post this, to provide evidence of how proactive Abbeycare have been with regards to partnership working. The management team at… Abbeycare have been helping me assess the suitability of a digital system they have experience of. This support will ultimately help me to help improve the support provided to my employees and service users. Thank you Abbeycare.

Hi. I recently completed a 14 week recovery plan at Abbeycare it was one of the most positive experiences of my life. In my opinion the program, therapist, aftercare and general staff all work to a very high standard… especially my keyworker Kristie who went above and beyond in helping me fill out complex documents in her spare time to just simply making me feel part of something. I will be forever grateful to Abbeycare for turning my life around. This is not handed to you on plate you get out what you put in. Thank you Abbeycare Scott Robertson

I don’t think I have enough words for this place. I didn’t even want to come, I didn’t want to stay until one day I did and you didn’t give up on me during any of those days. I thought I might stay a month..that will… help sort me. I don’t need three months…. What a difference three months makes. I will forever be grateful to this wonderful place full of people who really care about what they are doing. From management to nurses to therapists to cleaners to chefs to therapy practitioners and therapists. Every single person in there really cares about what they are doing. The programme is set up for you, the environment, the people, it works. It really does. Thank you so much 🙏. Always grateful

I spent over three months in Abbeycare and I honestly couldn’t fault a thing. From the day I arrived till the day I left, I received top quality treatment and nothing was too much trouble. If they were busy, they would… always come back to me. The therapists are amazing, the detox, the CBT groups, one to one sessions, external meetings, the nurses and housekeeping staff work so hard to keep this place tip top. Even the management went out their way to talk to you which is nice. Always an open door from Dougie the manager if you had any issues to discuss, he was always happy to listen. It’s a place to feel safe, to learn and a great opportunity to mix with your peers and share stories about our experience which always makes me feel better knowing I’m not alone in this. I can’t reiterate enough that if you’re struggling and thinking about rehab, then Abbeycare is your place. Thanks again Abbeycare Team Mandy Hogg 😊

I came into Abbeycare on the 25th of June and just left today, Abbeycare has genuinely saved my life. I went in with no hope for myself anymore or my life and 3 months later I see a bright sober future for myself. The… staff are some of the most amazing people I have met in my life, nothing is too much for them. The nursing staff, housekeeping staff and catering staff are all second to none as well, they go above their job roles and you form connections with them. The therapy team have absolutely changed my life, my way of thinking and my view on recovery. Management are also so kind, they are never just behind the scenes, they genuinely care about the residents in their care and support them to a better future. Thank you all so much I will be forever grateful. ❤️

I was put on a librium detox for the first 7 days . I paid £12 000 . The detox was to help me detox from diazepam that I had became addicted to, 2 days after the 7 days on librium I found myself in a severe state of… withdrawal the nursing staff did nothing to help me with my withdrawal symptoms caused by the librium I suffered in there for a further 5 days of pure hellish symptoms. I couldn't take anymore and had to discharge myself 14 days earlier than I had paid for. I left abbeycare in a worse state than I was when admitted. The librium detox may work for people in alcohol withdrawal but it certainly doesn't for people going through a diazepam withdrawal. I had to call an ambulance myself to go to hospital as staff refused to help me arrange an emergency ambulance. They should rename this establishment Abbeydoesntcare

Abbeycare and associated staff members, put all their efforts into my recovery when I needed their assistance during my 84 day programme. I have learnt so much, on how to manage my daily routine and take my life back.… Abbeycare fully encourage you to engage in external meetings at certain stages and it is without doubt these meetings do work. As well as group therapy sessions, they also run 1-1 therapy with your very own therapist when you reach a particular phase of your stay, and of course these sessions are strictly confidential. The accommodation and facilities are also of a high standard, with single en-suite rooms with TV's in each room. I cannot thank Abbeycare enough for the high standards and efficiencies. Thank you team for everything you have done for Myself and my family" I can now live again 1 day at a time"!

Disappointing and Misleading Experience We were initially assured over the phone that my brother, who has difficulty walking but still manages to walk slowly, would be provided with the necessary support during his… stay. Everything sounded great when we were arranging his admission, and we were confident this would be the right place for him. However, after driving nearly 4 hours to reach the facility, we were told that they couldn’t accept him because of his walking issues. This was after being explicitly told it wouldn’t be a problem! Instead, they suggested that he go to a hospital. What a joke. On top of that, we are still waiting for the refund of our deposit and a proper explanation for this situation. The lack of professionalism is truly disappointing. Avoid this place if you value honesty and good service.

Best money I’ve ever spent on myself - gave me the ability to see the wood for the trees and understand the my disease and more importantly myself. Great facility, fantastic staff, provides great insight and awareness to your own individual needs. Really enjoyed my time in Abbeycare and believe it gave me the strength to live life on the outside. Once you leave… Abbeycare their support does not end there, great aftercare support. All of the staff are fantastic but too many to name individually. A rehabilitation facility that genuinely cares for their clients and not their money.
