How Much Does Treatment at LEAP Cost?
LEAP is delivered by NHS Lothian in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council and local charities, so its own quasi-residential day programme isn’t priced as a private product; the Edinburgh-area market figures for structured residential and day programmes (privately, often £6,000 to £12,000 a month for day programmes and £10,000 to £30,000 for full residential care) are included here as broader context rather than LEAP’s own rates.
As an NHS-delivered programme, access may be available at no direct cost to eligible residents, usually depending on residency and referral through local alcohol and drug partnerships. Ask directly how a referral into LEAP works and what the shared housing arrangement involves during the programme.

LEAP Reviews
If you’ve taken part in LEAP, or supported a family member through the programme, leaving a review can give other people considering this route in the Lothians a clearer picture of what to expect.
LEAP is delivered by NHS Lothian in partnership with local councils and charities, with a multidisciplinary clinical team including medical, nursing and psychology input. A helpful question to ask is how the shared housing arrangement works day to day, and what the family programme involves for those supporting a participant.
