They treated my illness well with amazing guest services, they serve breakfast lunch and dinner , I can’t ask for a better service they truly changed my life.
I couldnt ask for better help. And i was a difficult patient at the begining, but they still stayed professional with me. The Doctor was amazing very professional took his time with each person and gave us the best… treatment he possibly could. Loved him. Quail run saved my life. Love them forever.! And Steve rocks
Worst experience in treatment. Got through 7 day detox at desert mountain health (the sister company) then moved into a sober living home. 2 days into the sober living they told us we are moving houses and the 7 people… including me who lived there got made the moving crew. 3 uhauls worth of moving a whole house just 10 days sober. Then moved into a much smaller duplex which they plan to have 18 people in. They had only one washer and dryer set up, 4 fridges for 18 people and the toilets didn’t work properly (leaked water we had to use a pitcher to flush it) internet not set up. They have you go to a recovery group mon-fri 8-1 for my two and half weeks I was there we barely talked about recovery and spent most of group watching documentaries about cults. They will not help you at all financially or with rides to meeting. Times of the class make it extremely difficult to find work that fits in the time frame of the group so you can’t get yourself on your feet. The company doesn’t seem to know what insurance they take so going through Cigna they put me on 6 medications, 4 days later whoops insurance only covers 3 and went without all my medication for 3 days until they had their doctor call and figure it out for them. Then finally started to settle in grind my teeth lived there for little over 2 weeks went to group one day and was pulled out with 2 other people to get told sorry we don’t take your insurance. Only options we were given, go back to desert mountain health for 30 days or you need to be out of the house by 1:30pm. The owner Chris Botti and the program director Gary just seem to care about turning a profit. We all had the same sentiment that their business model is quantity over quality, almost like they want you to relapse and go back to detox (that’s where they make the real money). Do yourself a favor and save yourself a relapse and find a different program.
So here’s the thing. I was having a great experience, it wasn’t perfect but it was working for me. I had group in the morning and I was able to hit my meetings at night. I woke up today went to group to have them cold… and callously tell me I needed to leave or step down to residential at their sister program because the insurance I had to wasn’t paying. No other options were offered it was leave or step down. It just reminded me how much treatment centers care more about money than the individuals they treat. I’m going to upset some people with this review I just had to get it out. If you decide to come here make sure your insurance covers it.
Misty was super helpful and nice, her customer service is fantastic. I highly recommend this location!
I’m incredibly grateful for the support I received at Desert Cove Recovery in Scottsdale. If you’re looking for a holistic treatment center that truly focuses on healing the mind, body, and spirit, this place is… amazing. The staff genuinely care about every person who walks through the door and they take the time to create a treatment plan that fits your individual needs. What really stood out to me was the balance between evidence-based therapy and holistic approaches like mindfulness and wellness activities. It didn’t feel like just another rehab program—it felt like a real path to rebuilding my life. The therapists and counselors were compassionate, knowledgeable, and always supportive. Desert Cove Recovery gave me the tools and confidence I needed to move forward with sobriety. I highly recommend this holistic treatment center in Scottsdale, AZ to anyone who wants real, lasting recovery.
Great recovery center
I have been here two times on my path. I have always been met with such kindness and caring by the staff. Lola is in intake and also a person that checks up on patients. Sarah is such a fantastic resource for… everything. She is the jack of all trades for the whole property. They actually follow up too with your healing. There are amazing nurses, heather being one. These individuals really are there for your benefit, if you see a guy with an accent and nice shoes, he is your friend and if you make this commitment a life changing journey, they will help. It really is a sense of community and unity and I want everyone to get help but I want it to be here first.
This place is horrible. Ive been wanting to discharge tomorrow because they wanted me to wait and talk to the therapist on Monday because they wanted to find me different placement but my pancreatitis (that I've had for… 4 years) started flaring up and the horribly insensitive bht said "so you just "know" you have pancreatitis? How could you possibly know that" maybe if she took a second to read my file she would see it's in there. I also said "because I've died from it. I've been dealing with it for 4 years. I've had 7 specialists in the last year because of all the cysts and stones in my pancreas." So ignorant. So I was going to go to the hospital but it's pancreatitis and I could be here for DAYS. And they wouldn't let me take my phone so I had to leave. I can't be stranded with no one to no phone and no way to check in with my support system and let them know what's going on That's insane. And earlier I was speaking with the bht ashley asking if I could do a video call with my sponsor to work on my steps but then the bht Ashley was like "how are you on step 4 and you've been here a week?" I said "because I'm already in the middle of working my steps. Also no one told me I had to restart them. So I said "were on step 4 now" And she looks at me with snarkiness all over her face and said "are you serious ? You're 16 months sober and you're only on step 4?" In such a way that was so judgemental. M ind you, Ashley had just told me this morning she never even worked her steps. So who the hell the hell is she to judge me. I've had the worse year of my life and my sponsor wanted to do it slowly because I had so much going on in my life. Not that's ITS ANY OF HER BUSINESS!!! The phone thing is also ridiculous especially because the head bht said I can have my phone if I won't ama tonight. Zero communication. No one laid out ANY of the rules for me so I didnt know and I got in trouble all the time and I had other clients jumping down my throat about things no one told me. No one was on the same page. I was told all week I can be outside until 12 and then it suddenly changes and no one told me. The entire care team really does not care about their clients at all. No empathy. No compassion. The facility just needs the insurance money. My mental health got 10× worse being there. I was on edge and having crazy anxiety the entire time because everyone was so rude. Bhts and clients. This is not a place for healing. Oh and they took 2 days to get me my medication. Do not waste your time here.

This place helped me get back on my feet.
If it wasn't for the staff here and their knowledge of helping people who have a addiction and working with veterans and the VA I would have probably relapsed if they would have let me go before I was really to go.
Desert Cove has helped MANY of my friends get sober & achieve long term sobriety. I also personally know some of the staff at Desert Cove & can assure you that your loved ones will be taken care of with pure intentions.
I liked this rehab because it was small and not a closed campus. It had more of a familial atmosphere than other rehabs I've been at and I felt like I got the personal care I needed. The rehab before this one was huge… and I just felt like a number in a business. I also liked the openness. I felt very trapped at my closed campus rehab and the transition to regular life too dramatic. Here you live at a house away from the center and they give u money to buy groceries. I could walk around the neighborhood and do outings on the weekend. There's still accountability and you will get caught if u screw around, but I think giving clients a bit more freedom allows them to breathe, learn self-accountability (very important), and makes the transition to regular life less difficult. Made a lot of good friends there with clients and staff, and felt the staff truly cared about me.
Great facility and great staff. Would highly recommend for anyone suffering from addiction.
This place is absolutely horrible. The techs nurses and BHHTs are absolutely horrible, they instantly kick you out if you do or care in you do anything they don’t like. Don’t come to this places. Don’t go to this place,… if you have the unfortunate circumstance of having to go here, stay away from Tabitha and Renee especially
Staff is amazing. A really helpful array of therapeutic techniques.
My perspective of my experience here has changed of time I’ve been sober. I think there we’re several things that could have been handled better therapists and the management running the facility but ultimately I feel… like these things were learned from rather than repeated. Desert Cove was a incredible experience which contributed to my early sobriety, giving me a place where my family could have peace of mind and I could regularly attend meetings, find a sponsor, and work the steps, without worrying about all the stresses that come when you are living on your own. The transition to sober living was seemless and I made life long sober friends. No matter who nice the rehab is, somone has to be ready to recover. Desert cove is a great place for the addict/alcoholic that is ready to recover.
Terrence Culver is a great recourse, and I highly recommend him. He gave me the tools and support I needed to help me with my recovery. He cares about the people he is helping and that made all the difference in my… recovery.
I would have given them 5 stars. My experience while in treatment was amazing. The only problem is that when I left they didn't give me a certificate even though I completed the program successfully. Now I'm trying to… get a warrant quashed and have been attempting to get SOMEONE ANYONE on the phone. Leaving messages and email for over 3 weeks with zero response. I just need them to email a copy of my certificate so I don't have to worry about this warrant but they don't seem to know what a phone is.
The experience I have had at SRC has been a compassionate experience. All staff from facilitators, Therapists, peer support and BHT’s have been available and it’s obvious they want to help in any way they can. Previous… to my relapse that landed me here in SRC I worked in treatment, and that’s place was nothing like SRC. It was AA based where as SRC promotes all recovery paths like dharma smart celebrate and many others. They also offer an additional program called 33 degrees in which there is additional information like stoicism and they have many books on recovery, life and philosophy that you can check out and read. 33 degrees is ran by Eric, Brent, and Amanda, and they each have a small group of clients they mentor, and help you with routine and areas you may be struggling so when you are ready to transition into the world you have more tools to succeed. You can also continue to attend 33 degrees even after graduation from SRC. I would recommend the entire experience at SRC for anyone who is desiring a change of Life.
One more thing I remember about my 4 month stay at DCR, one day my “therapist” who was actually just a counselor came and pulled me out of group rock painting or something for assistance with a returning patient. I had… experience with the drugs he was coming off of and he could hardly keep his eyes open. So she sat me down with him in the lounge area and had me do this guys intake paper work on a laptop for him. Dude needed to be in detox and I was tasked with helping him sign his intake papers. That sounds kinda shady in hindsight.
This is the most comfortable and best detox/residential center I have been too hands down. The staff genuinely cares and will help guide you with each step of your journey. It’s what you make of it, if you are ready to… put in the work you will be successful.
