I felt genuinely cared for as I worked through my situation… with ease and comfort. This is a safe place where you will feel right at home in a completely judgment-free atmosphere with people who truly care. It's a supportive environment that even makes recovery fun! ​I built great relationships and actually looked forward to attending. I should also mention how affordable Applecore is.

Clay definitely is meant for this, as far as mandatory substance abuse treatment goes he’s the one to choose. he’s affordable to the point where i wanna tip extra. he makes the environment comfortable and safe, he’s… very intelligent when it comes to healing from substance abuse, and he will make sure you leave aware of your flaws with a strong plan on fixing them. today is my last day and i will miss it, and will definitely be back even though it’s not mandated anymore. it feels like a friend group hangout everytime. we can curse and laugh and get emotional and be open and vulnerable with no fear of judgement. clays a good dude.

Took my level one outpatient treatment here, the program is a safe space, and a great way to build the tools to combat any substance abuse. Highly recommend to those who are looking for help with their drug or alcohol… issues.

Clay is one of the best treatment providers I've had the pleasure of using. His class times make it easy to attend. He has real life experience with addiction, so his advice and experience is coming from someone who has… overcome addiction. I found that I related to a lot of his stories because I've lived them as well. He doesn't come off as being "better than" us. He realizes that most of us are court ordered yet still tries to help everyone that comes through his door. He will challenge you and make you question why you hold certain beliefs. Clay also charges a reasonable price for his classes, and you are able to pay as you go.

I just want to take the time to thank Clay. Every session helped me get better. I am more confident in expressing my emotions and more assured there will always be someone who is there to help. I’d recommend Apple Core… to anyone truly seeking help !

AppleCore, Clay Johnson is the BEST. He exudes class, expertise, and care during his treatment programs. When I seeked treatment, there were multiple options to choose from. It was a gut feeling to go through AppleCore.… So glad I did! Clay truly cares about the work he does and does it extremely well. His program is truly one of a kind. If you are considering a location, whether on your own or court directed, I highly recommend AppleCore. His program is deliberate and will make you really dive into the core of the problem. He is an incredible listener and has a true gift for helping others. You will find that it helps others by sharing your story, as well.

Clay is a outstanding counselor and I highly recommend him to anyone who suffers from drug or alcohol addiction. The classes are educational both intellectually and internally. You never leave a session feeling ashamed… or judged.

Clay Johnson has been enormously helpful in my journey towards recovery. I was initially ordered to go by the JoCo court after a 2nd DUI, and expected to do whatever the minimum necessary to please the courts. I chose… Clay because he was much more reasonably priced than anyone else I called. What I didn't expect to get was actual help--I've never been so pleased to be wrong. Clay honestly cares about his clients, and it shows. He's not going to BS you or allow you to peddle BS. He's going to challenge and help anyone who approaches with an honest and open mind, as he did me. His guidance and counseling have helped me face some of the most difficult times in my life with a new attitude and with gratitude for the enormous graces and gifts that are in my life. I cannot recommend him enough.

So was needing to attend classes for my d.u.i. i had and called a couple places and were way to expensive. Came upon applecore and a man by the name of clay answered, right off the bat felt like he would be very nice… just from the phone conversation i had with him thru his introduction. He is very knowledgeable and has the up most respect for others and understands everyone's situation. He is nothing but nice and kind. He makes you feel very welcome and allows you to be yourself and speak on how you feel and is a very good listener. He has the best prices than anyone else. I have nothing but the upmost respect for him as a person and his profession as a counselor. I definitely recommend him to anyone that has to do these classes. He is great at what he does and is a great person. He is kind, respectful, and just plain out awesome.

The environment that Clay creates is unlike other treatments I've been through. I feel like Applecore is a positive, and impactful place that promotes honesty with oneself, confrontation with your demons, and most… importantly a safe space to make you want to help others and yourself through treatment. Clay is a very knowledgeable man with a beautiful soul. I can tell he wants everyone to walk out with something gained. I have nothing but respect for him and his methods.

Sorry Clay but you literally tried to make my situation more stressful and degrading than it needed to be. I was there to take my FENTANYL addiction seriously and seek help. All you wanted to do was summarize my tenure… with your “program” as I wasn’t taking it seriously. You might wonder exactly why wasn’t this fentanyl addict taking the program seriously? Bc failed test for THC. Yes ladies and gentlemen. THC. I gave this man somewhere in the neighborhood of 2,500 in program fees. When initially it was 1200. Oh wait I forgot to mention how much of a sweetheart Clay is bc he discounted the rates past 1200 bc those fees were owed because of failure to complete the treatment. Technically the fent shooting addict seeking and participating in the groups wasn’t enough to get him to think about the logic of this. Now this whole process repeated itself about 3 times and never did he communicate with me about what I need to do to not have to end up owing him money. Not once. I attended this joke of a counselor for around 4 months and gave him 2,500$ I received absolutely NOTHING from. All he cared about was payment. He is like a used car sells man but in the court appointed counseling game. He literally is the only person running this business. No staff no accountability. He literally can do whatever. And he took 2,500$ from me and I couldn’t be more outraged he hasn’t been investigated by BBB. Either way I’m at a REAL counseling facility now. Polite staff and they truly seem to care. Best decision I ever made. Can’t trust an ex addict to run a business solo and not rip of current addicts. I’m telling you I saw right thru his masquerade

When I was referred to seek Outpatient Treatment, I called around to research options in the KC Area. Clay was the best to speak with about the treatment as he's working with the group daily compared to others who were… giving me generic answers. After speaking with him, I started my treatment the following week. The group setting was, at first, intimidating, but within the first few minutes, they made me feel included. Clay challenges all the participants to dig deep within themselves when they have an assignment to share, and it's absolutely amazing. I went into my first group meeting feeling ashamed but left that same night feeling excited about the coming sessions. Every session was great, not just because of Clay's leadership but because of the group of wonderful people who all share the same goal. This was one of the best experiences I could have ever had, and I'm eternally thankful for the way the treatments were run and the growth I experienced because of it! I highly recommend AppleCore to anyone.

I decided on AppleCore based on reviews from others, and after going through his process I wanted to add my own. Clay has a solid approach that involves open discussion of their issues and what lead them to where they… are, as well as a way for clients to hold one another accountable in a firm but positively reinforced method. I think many who go through with his process will find success in their recovery.

Clay is absolutely great leader/counselor/mentor! At first, I found it very hard to be open about my faults. During the time in recovery, I found out more about myself, took advice from other people, and put it all… together with Clay’s guidance. Doing this recovery treatment program I left empowered, ready to go with my life without addiction.

Clay helped me achieve sobriety and gave me skills to continue on the path of a better life. Clay is extremely knowledgeable and caring. You can tell he really cares about his profession and helping people with their… addiction problems. In group he made sure everyone was participating and giving input. There was a wide range of ages in my group and we all seemed to mesh well and work through our common problems. I would could not recommend a better outpatient treatment program than AppleCore.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Clay is nothing but a joke I’m pretty sure he compensated for these five star reviews. My daughter is a minor child and he put her in a group of adults which is against policy. My… daughter said that every session they (the other group members) would just joke about being sober and just doing this only because they have to for court. He would frequently spend the whole session telling stories about his past, and not allowing other group members to do anything for their own recovery. My daughter was in that group for about seven sessions, and never one time was able to talk. Clay is the cheapest around that’s for sure and what else is for sure is he only cares about getting your money. My daughter continued to use the entire time she was with Clay, and as soon as she switched to Someone knew she has been sober since.

I’ve been to a number of treatment centers and apple core is by far the best experience I’ve had. It has always been a struggle of mine opening up but clay has created a safe space where I felt comfortable and… understood. He truly wants to see you succeed. Through his treatment I was able to take a deeper look at myself overcome obstacles in my life that without that support I don’t think I could’ve and I’m forever grateful. If you are looking for an addiction treatment center I highly recommend coming here!

Apple Core saved my life. I was about to get an invitation from the judge to go to treatment so I decided to go get it started soon as I could . I was very desperate to make a change in my life. I was coming off a… really bad car accident flipping my wife’s car while under the influence. I was so relieved to have found a place close to home and it turned out to be the best decision I have ever made . Clay has a ton of knowledge in addiction and I was for the the first time able to be Honest about my addiction with someone . That part is where the healing started for me and I knew this would/was going to work . I completed the classes and started 12 step meetings as well with direction and help/rides to meetings from Clay. I continued to go to the group for at least a year or more just because I needed it and it was a safe place for me .. staying connected to recovery was and still is how stay clean and sober. I continue to meet with Clay a couple times a week in various ways and consider him a mentor in my recovery. I recommend AppleCore for anyone wanting to recover from substance abuse and get there life back .

As a physician for whom addiction recovery was a part of my almost half century career in medicine, I was honored and felt comfortable with being asked by Clay Johnson, the director and rehabilitation counselor at Apple… Core, to sit in on one of his group sessions, to observe and and new to recovery, and possibly share my addiction medicine expertise. This proved to be both interesting and educational, as I saw once again both sides, addict and counselor, of recovery firsthand. There were approximately 12 alcoholics and drug addicts present in various stages of their path, some brand new to recovery and a few with more experience. The expertise demonstrated by Clay as group leader was neither surprising nor unusual, except insomuch as that he demonstrated a new perfect balance of obviously heartfelt compassion for his clients while providing clear and understandable guidance in the principles of recovery, including and especially the requirements for honesty and commitment to those principles; he included each struggling addict in the group process, and allowed participants to help themselves and each other by doing so. I would highly recommend anyone in the area with similar difficulties to contact Clay if they wish to start or return to a recovery path that leads away from the ravages of this common human ailment, and towards a better life, one that is free of drugs and alcohol.
