About Associates at Hope Harbor – Mission
Associates at Hope Harbor operates from 5800 Foxridge Drive in Mission. The site sits in Johnson County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Fairway, Kansas City and Lake Quivira. Kansas draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Treatment Services at Associates at Hope Harbor
Intensive outpatient and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

My experience at hope harbor was great with the licensed therapists. They had a clear path and did a great job. I am astounded at the behavior of the receptionists. They were casually having personal conversations… including multiple curse words while I was trying to finish paperwork before my appointment in the lobby. I had two appointments back to back and multiple times heard them snickering after an interaction with me. As I was leaving the building they were full blown laughing after I left the door. I came here for a reason and for them to laugh at me was very belittling in what should be a safe space.
Wonderful staff, well heard, great therapy advice, well maintained office, did 3 assessments and several classes here. Would 10 out of 10 tell everyone to come here!!!!
Patti is Absolutely Amazing. She Truly Cares and Listens to here patients. Would recommend her to Anyone as she is the Best !!!
I've been contacted by one of the owners after a rough experience and felt like I was actually heard when I voiced my concerns. Mediators are fantastic, though the gentleman who did my substance assessment didn't seem… to actually hear my answers and made a few alarming assumptions- this concern has been addressed and will be dealt with accordingly. I already recieve a lot of the services suggested through AAHH with another agency; however, I can say that the program I currently am attending is somewhat beneficial and I'm taking away a lot from it. It can be triggering, but thankfully, the mediators DO listen and empathize greatly without feeling like they are judging or critical. Yes, it can be a frustrating experience, but they do their best to rectify anything that can be corrected. Though you should always do your research before selecting who do complete programs, at least AAHH try to find a middle ground. Also, read through any and all fine print when sent to you, so you can catch any mistakes (as was the case of the assessment) because they will take the time to fix it.
You should definitely think twice about using this place as a provider if you're getting a court order drug and alcohol evaluation done. Dr. Ratliff will recommend one thing to you during your evaluation and then send… your diversion officer a much more serious recommendation of treatment. You'll then be gaslit about what was actually said when you confront them about the huge discrepancy. While it's understandable that they cannot disclose certain records with you for legal reasons, you shouldn't be left totally blindsided by what is recommended. It definitely appears they want you to go through unnecessary treatment so they can make more money. Talk to your lawyer before you choose a provider and get a second opinion. For what it's worth the other counselors and staff are very attentive and will likely serve you much better.
The staff is very understanding, and they are open on weekends too which allows a lot more schedule flexibility.
It was great!
Easy to get started and the staff is super kind! Definitely recommend this place! They are currently offering Zoom classes! I love this option!
While my experience with Hope Harbor is fairly limited, everyone on their staff I have spoken with has been very helpful and professional. All phone calls and emails have been returned promptly and courteously. Their… counselors are highly educated, well trained, friendly, and empathetic. They're doing a difficult and thankless job and doing it well.
TMrs. Pat has been a light in my life. The classes have made a solid difference in the way I deal with crazy people. The staff is remarkably kind and helpful. You can trust they will be honest and guide you the correct… way. It is very cost effective for the value. I will be back asap! Love you all.
