Cedar Roots Recovery – Mason Detox and Rehab Services
What Cedar Roots Recovery – Mason offers, on record, is residential treatment and sober living. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
The record shows integrated treatment rather than one problem then the other. Supported housing is recorded for people continuing treatment after a more intensive stage. Ask what a typical week involves before committing, since the schedule determines whether the program is workable alongside work or family.

Cedar Roots Recovery – Mason Reviews and Ratings
Nobody knows a treatment program like the patients who went through it. Their reviews of Cedar Roots Recovery in Mason, and those of their families, are collected here.

Was assaulted within the first week by fellow clients. Staff did nothing to stop it or even punish the other client. I was not even offered the ability to call the police and press charges. 3 more days of harassment by… other clients that occurred directly in front of staff and again they did nothing but sit on their phones. In order to keep my safety and not catch a case I had to leave ama because my therapist wouldnt do anything, the head guy Jim didnt even offer to do anything other than gwt me a ride home. I would never recommend anyone going to this place. It is filled with thugs and people shipped directly from jail that dont give any care about recovery. The staff doesnt care about any of the clients there or their safety. They are simply there to collect a paycheck and play on their phones.
Well i did 91 days at cedar roots thinking it was a good thing which I can't really say it was a bad thing. Only though they recommended I go to Rise sober community which was good but it also turned into the worst… experience I ever had. Since in recovery you are supposed to be able to tell what has happened to yourself or what you have done to yourself and others and be forgiving and also have the other people in recovery go around running their mouths about what happened to yourself but nope they didn't care one bit, they actually made fun of me for it so be careful where you go and what you say.
Eric and Spence lied to me and then tried to get me thrown back into Ingham County jail on a warrant that never came across the fax machine. That's when I called my sister had her meet me up in Mason and I split. I have… sconded and that's the last they saw of me at that facility
Spent 88 days in...Staff and other residents become like family to me..Face your fears and go through the process if you're "truly" seeking change. I'm 1 yr sober as of January 18th 2025..Mindfulness is the Key
House of Commons Has a brand new, very clean interior, as well as Environment. The staff are very intellectually and affectionately invested in helping their residents with effective reasoning and tactical coping… management skills. I was court ordered, however, I would recommend H.O.C. to anyone that's serious about their recovery and mental healing. The food is good and the environment is very relaxed and accommodating. The facility let's you smoke outside at leisure. And they treat you like a civilized human.
Thank you for all you have done for me and my family
The house of commons save my life it takes special people to do what they do I'm so grateful that I went there not only did they help me remember that I have a purpose in life they gave me the opportunity to understand… that's it's ok to love myself it's so many people that has help me but to all my therapist I will forever be grateful for y'all y'all are truly a blessing
Walking into HOC I didn't know what to expect. After doing intake and meeting staff I felt very welcome. Overall, a very good experience for me, I got the help I've needed for a long time. They gave me the tools to stay… sober. Also, the decor screams motivation! Thank you to all the HOC staff.
Theirs a reason theirs no pictures of the inside.. 🤔🧐 Coming from a volatile state of mind the environment, the building and the strict rules were over bearing. . Plus it' was LOUD af. More like a jail (which it… actually used to be) than a comfortable environment to realax and get the actual help ppl neeed. I 100% felt used as I were to help clean the building, and they were going to get me a food card only to charge it all for what would have been my stay their but I left immediately and I am still sober. I nvr wanted to drink MORE than after seeing what I was about to have to endure if I stayed their! When I think of a rehab center I think of a nice, clean, quiet, and comfortable environment and this place gave off none of these vibes at ALL!
Food nice hot and steamy Oh and Jays cool too In my book
This is a wonderful treatment center. Dont read into the negative comments. People with negative comments pry got KICKED OUT of the program because they were unable to follow simple rules or they left because they… weren't ready to be sober so they walked out. These people just point the blame on others because its easier to do that then own up to their mistakes or addiction. The staff there are amazing and do great work. I really got a lot out of the program
A family member is currently here, he has had nothing but great things to say about 99% of the staff. They’ve been keeping my family in the loop with anything going on, generally just a great place it seems like.
No a/c in dorm, at least when I was there, meals subpar, guidance of expectations of program to new residents subpar, having to watch out to not step in cat urine when you wake up, charging a bridge card for meals that… they are supposed to provide already. .. I guess if you are used to living in jail, it might be considered better
Read all negative comments. They sum it all up. A $112 dollar debit card also disappeared out of my property. The pin was my birthday, which they know. Beware of this place.
I will be forever grateful for the quality of care received at this facility. I truly believe that their straight forward approach, combined with addressing ALL aspects of addiction, physically, mentally, and… spiritually has made a lifelong difference. Quentin and the staff were all very kind, and made family feel more than welcome. Even going so far as to celebrate Easter complete with candy, snacks, drinks and even an egg coloring table which concluded with the traditional Easter egg hunt for the little ones. Thank you for your efforts and support in encouraging a life of sobriety!
If you want help getting sober and you're serious about it, this is the worst place to go, the counselors really do not care about you or their job in helping you recover. They do nothing but set you up to fail.
This place is a joke I had 2 1 on 1 counseling appointments while I was there 60% of my groups were canceled the other part all they did was put a movie in and that was it like flight and movies like that. Also the only… thing that happens every week on schedule is dhs comes to sign you up for your bridge card and the swipe your bridge card 42$ a week and also your insurance pays for food so they get paid double and the food is good but you get more in jail it’s definitely not a place to go for help you can’t even drink coffee but some people can be on methadone there it makes no sense people can be high on drugs but you can’t drink coffee Q just wants money that’s it thanks for reading hope you find a better place than this jail they call rehab ha
This place is a sad excuse for a treatment center. More like a prison. No twelve step recovery. They charged my insurance $42,000 Charged for 200 hours of 1 on 1 counseling. Was lucky if I received 3. Unorganized and… very unprofessional. The director Is a liar manipulator and only out to see you fail.
