How Much Does Treatment at Hospital CUF Porto Cost?
Hospital CUF Porto is a private, self-pay hospital, so no public health system route applies here. It doesn’t publish its own pricing for the alcoholism and dependency consultation; as broader context, outpatient addiction support in the Porto area is generally quoted around €700–€2,300 (£600–£2,000) a month, though a hospital consultation may be priced differently from a stand-alone outpatient programme.
Contact the hospital directly for a firm quote, and ask what’s included in the consultation, whether medication is billed separately, and how follow-up is arranged.

Hospital CUF Porto Reviews
Sharing your experience of Hospital CUF Porto’s psychiatry service, whether as a patient, a supporting family member, or a referring professional, would help others weighing up this hospital.
Hospital CUF Porto is registered with Portugal’s Entidade Reguladora da Saúde (ERS). Beyond reviews, it’s worth checking that registration and the clinical team’s make-up, and asking directly what a first appointment with the dependency consultation covers.
I have encountered excellent professionals at this hospital over the past few months who have surprised me very positively. The entire team deserves praise for their professionalism, dedication, empathy, and exemplary… patient care. I recommend them without a doubt.
I have been a user of CUF's medical services for 8 years and during that time I have always been very well attended to, until today, 10/28/26. I arrived at the hospital at 10:05 for an orthopedic appointment with Dr.… Nuno Neves at 10:15 in the morning, I took a number and waited in the waiting room for 35/40 minutes and at that time I asked the reception if the appointment would be delayed much longer, as I had an appointment at 12:00 and was afraid I wouldn't arrive. She informed me that I would be next and in fact I was called 5 minutes later. When I entered the office, there was another man inside who was not introduced to me or asked if I minded his presence there during the consultation that I imagined would take place. To this day I don't know who that man was… After that, I sat down and he asked me what was wrong and I reported the lower back pain that I have been feeling since August. He asked if the pain radiated to my legs and if I exercised. I had already had an MRI, and he quickly accessed the images and after 30 seconds asked me to stand up and lower my torso, trying to touch my feet. I reported that I felt pain when making the movement. He replied that I had nothing wrong, my spine was fine, and that I had to exercise. THE "CONSULTATION" TOOK 3 TO 5 MINUTES!!!!!!!! He dismissed me from the room in a way I've never seen in my life. At no point was he rude, but I felt disrespected by entering and leaving the room without even knowing what problem I have, as he didn't explain anything to me. To give you an idea, it was a first-time consultation; he didn't even look at my medical record and only asked me 2 questions. In short: I waited 40 minutes for a 3-minute consultation that shouldn't even have been charged, as it wasn't a consultation. Total lack of respect for the patient. If you need a spine doctor, never make an appointment with NUNO NEVES, he has no interest in listening to patients and seems to be in a great hurry to get rid of them. I have nothing to say about the facilities, but I don't think that doctor specifically should be seeing patients.
When we go to a private hospital, we expect to receive above-average quality care. However, after going to the emergency room of this hospital, that was not what I found, from the administrative service at the entrance,… which was inefficient and lacked customer focus, to some doctors, who had an arrogant attitude and were unhelpful. The National Health Service (SNS) is as we know it, but private healthcare cannot follow that path, especially since it is paid for, and paid for at a high price.
Yesterday, October 17th, at 9 am, I went to the CUF emergency room because I am pregnant and had symptoms of a urinary tract infection. I was denied treatment because I am not a patient at this hospital and, moreover,… they do not have an obstetrics emergency department. It's surreal to realize the state of the country, and for private institutions to deny assistance at this level is truly incomprehensible to me. I am leaving my complaint here so that no one else goes through the same thing.
How can a hospital like this have no one capable of realizing that access to the offices for people on crutches is only worse than before?!
Waiting times are completely unreasonable. I have come frequently with my mother and in no appointment has the waiting time been less than 1 hour. In some cases the service is terrible, while others, like Dr. Paulo… Coelho and Dr. Raquel Calisto, are excellent professionals.
Horrible service and people that forget to give you perscription. Don’t recommend
The emergency service is terrible, to the point of sending patients with potentially serious conditions. They deliver seriously inaccurate imaging reports based solely on written communication. The service system is… awful. In the end, the bill is always the same.
I’m very disappointed with the way my friend was treated. The service was unprofessional, and the handling of the situation raised serious concerns about his health and safety. I would expect much greater care and… responsibility.
Unprofessional health care, they dont care about the patients, their communication system is fatal. We were waiting days and days after a prescription. Avoid this place.
I do not recommend this place. They do not fulfill their agreements. I was disappointed with the quality of the hotline contact, which did not resolve issue...
Absolutely terrible experience. We paid for an online haematology consultation and the doctor told us she would prescribe iron. Two days later, still no prescription, which means we cannot even start the treatment she… recommended. We have called CUF multiple times asking for help. Nobody wants to take responsibility or actually contact the doctor. The helpline simply keeps adding more messages to the system, while nothing gets resolved. It’s unbelievable that you pay for private healthcare and then have to spend days chasing a prescription just to start your treatment. Completely unacceptable. I wish you never experience this from the people who should help you.
The assistants were extremely friendly, courteous, and efficient.
I received good service and the doctor's appointment was on time. Satisfied
I've gone there both for scheduled appointments and for the emergency room. I've always received good care. Thank you.
