No. Just, no. I lived here from late 2021, until late 2022. The experience of living here, particularly the first two weeks, genuinely traumatized me. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend that anyone live here unless… you have no other choice. I moved in during November 2021. The moment I walk in, there's a cockroach on the floor, things left in the cabinets, and a ceiling fan that doesn't work. I let the front office know all of this, and then slowly start to move in my handful of boxes I had from my car. By the end of the evening, six cockroaches have run across the floor, and I'm piling things back into my car so that I can sleep at my new boss' place because no one wants me sleeping in there. The next day, I laid out sticky pest traps (about a dozen spread across the apartment), and talk to the front office about the pest issue. 13 cockroaches are found 24 hours later. Over the first two weeks of me "living" in the apartment, I spend approximately 30 minutes going through the apartment around noon, checking the sticky traps, counting the cockroaches that have appeared, and replace the sticky traps. My roommate calls management, and management refuses to do anything about it. In fact, they blame me and my boxes for the pest issue, saying that I had to have brought them in. Never mind that there was a hole in the cupboards by the sink's drain pipes, never mind that I had literally never seen a living cockroach before that day, never mind any of it. Further, because the issue clearly isn't that bad, we wouldn't be receiving a pro-rated rent, despite the fact that we weren't able to live in the apartment with the amount of pesticides both they and us were laying down to try and get rid of the cockroach issue. It never really went away, despite our militancy about keeping things clean. It's...an alright apartment. The apartment was filthy when we moved in, it was clear they didn't clean very well and painted over stuff (including a coin, water damage, and various other pieces of dust and debris), and they didn't even install the floor level. There were places with nearly a quarter inch of distance between the baseboards and the actual flooring. After some particularly bad rain, we find out that there's some water seeping into our apartment from the outside, and we have to get them to fix it. Despite the visible cracks in the foundation, they insist it's fine, and just caulk the baseboards in the apartment. The fridge died on us, and it took three fridges and a week to get a new fridge installed in our apartment. So there's that. Oh, and one time we walk in to our kitchen flooded with black muck and water. Apparently, the upstairs neighbor disposed of things that shouldn't be disposed of in the pipes, and it backed up into our kitchen, all across our floor. It caused water damage across the baseboards in the kitchen and the entryway (as well as damage to some of my belongings as well). What added insult to injury with this was that we were charged for the water damage when we moved out. It got pulled out of the security deposit. What really didn't help throughout all of this was that the maintenance folks only spoke Spanish and very broken English. I wouldn't have minded, but it made it very difficult to explain any issues to them, because they wouldn't understand, or we wouldn't understand when they responded. Further, Candace, in the main office (no idea if she's still there or not), had the personality and presence of wet cardboard. More than once, my roommate would talk with her on the phone and be forced to stop, just to make sure the line hadn't dropped, because Candace wouldn't say anything or respond at all. Additionally, Candace would rarely respond to emails or phone calls in a timely manner, making any issues even more frustrating. The office would turn off water constantly and lock the laundry room for days on end, too. The only positive was the frequent wildlife we could see out the windows. Don't live here.
