About Midwest Wellness and Recovery – Jefferson
Midwest Wellness and Recovery operates from 102 North Wilson Avenue in Jefferson. The site sits in Greene County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Bayard, Boone and Guthrie Center. Iowa draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Hospital inpatient care, residential treatment, intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside telehealth appointments. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Treatment Services at Midwest Wellness and Recovery
Hospital inpatient care, residential treatment, intensive outpatient and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone.
Residential runs both short and long term, so the question at intake is which length the assessment points toward. Ask what happens at the end of the program as well as the beginning, since that is where plans usually thin out.

Midwest Wellness and Recovery Address, Location and Contact Information
The address is 102 North Wilson Avenue, Jefferson, IA 50129, in Greene County. The catchment reaches Bayard, Boone and Guthrie Center. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.
Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

They starve the residents...this place is nothing but a drugless, alcoholess, frat house. Impossible to speak with a counselor. Downstairs is very dirty. This facility is no way structured to help in rehabilitation.
The staff at Midwest wellness and Recovery we're very helpful. They helped me regain my life from addiction. And realize there was more to life than drugs. In the time I've been sober I have regained a relationship with… my oldest son and made a lot of new sober friends and have had a lot of opportunities appear. Not only did they give me a lot of support while I was there I still receive support from them since I've been out. They are a bunch of caring people that do a great job at what they do. I'm so thankful and grateful to have found them and I would recommend them to anyone.
It was and is such an amazing space. The atmosphere. The home feel and the staff are top notch. The level of intense care and individual recovery focus gave me a foundation i feel will last me a lifetime. I am more then… grateful for the chance and my stay there. If your looking to really start your recovery and change your life I would recommend you atheist research Midwest wellness recovery.
I am beyond grateful for Midwest Recovery and Wellness. In my life, I have been to 17 different treatment facilities in the state of Iowa, and I can honestly say this place was a Godsend. For once, I didn’t feel forced… to relive my past. I didn’t have to focus on triggers, name my drug of choice if I didn’t want to, or glorify the life I lived on the streets. Instead, this program helped me get to the core of my addiction—the root causes—rather than blaming people, places, or circumstances. It held me accountable in a loving way and helped me take ownership of my healing. The staff created a space where I finally felt safe enough to let my guard down, become vulnerable, and work through the deep scars in my soul that had been holding me back from becoming the man I always knew I could be. For the first time, I felt genuine comfort, support, and understanding. Midwest Recovery and Wellness rooted me in a solid foundation of support—church, AA, Narcotics Anonymous, and a home environment that was truly loving and kind. You don’t just hear about love here—you see it and feel it every day. I owe this facility more gratitude than I can fully put into words. That said, they didn’t do the work for me—I had to put in the effort. But they walked beside me, supported me, and helped me realize something I struggled to believe for a long time: I am worthy of sobriety. I am worthy of forgiveness—especially God’s forgiveness—for the things I couldn’t forgive myself for. They helped me strengthen my relationship with God and continue to seek Him in all that I do. One of the biggest accomplishments I made before leaving was securing a sponsor before I walked out the doors. That step alone has played a huge role in my continued success. If there’s one suggestion I would make, it would be to place even more emphasis on helping clients nearing graduation connect with a self-help program and secure a sponsor before leaving. I truly believe making this a requirement would set many people up for greater long-term success. Midwest Recovery and Wellness didn’t just help me get sober—they helped me heal. I will forever be thankful for this place.
I loved my stay here and plan to continue my sobriety because of them and do outpatient treatment
Midwest wellness and recovery saved my life, not only does it feel like a family but it’s also the one on one counseling and the amazing groups. I’ll forever be grateful for mwr!! Everyone there is amazing!!
This place saved my life. I had a big addiction issue and would of died if I didn't get help. I called over 30 different places and Bri was the only one to answer my call. She went above and gote approved for their… program less than 24 hours after my evaluation. The staff are truly amazing and so their best to make sure you make it. Big shout out to Liz, Kelly, Jo, Megan, Dani, Carissa, John, Brenda, Jake, Tiffany, and many more. These people care more than you know. Between groups all day, AA/NA meetings, church and the house, it has helped me to start my journey of recovery. They put all their sweet blood and tears into you to stay sober. If you're needing to get help or know someone that needs help, make sure you keep this place on mind. They are the light for your darkest days. Thank you all for the help, conversations, and journey you helped me start, you guys are the best. Much love
Midwest Wellness and Recovery saved my life. Before I was allowed into the program I had been on the phone for 2 weeks begging for help. The staff at this location were the only ones who walked me through the steps of… what to do to be eligible for their treatment facility. I have been to other facilities and never felt so welcomed or cared about as I did this one. Everyone including Megan, Brea, Liz, Kelly, Jo, Jon, Kalissa, and just everyone involved in my treatment have definitely earned a special place in my heart. I recommend this place to anyone struggling with addiction and truly want help.
Wonderful staff. They were incredibly kind and welcoming in my time of need. I would absolutely recommend them for anyone considering inpatient treatment!
Where to start. This place changed my life. Before I came here, I went to another facility. It was the worst experience ever. I left that program, and new I needed a treatment center. I found Midwest Recovery. Today, I… am 42 days sober from drugs, alcohol and gambling. Faith based program really help me realize I needed God in my life. Being able to go to AA meetings and NA meetings 6 very cool. I can't say enough about the Paster at AbudantLife Churchh. I will never forget him. Let's talk about the 2 amazing couslors. Kelly and Liz were very important to my recovery and my new journey of Soberity. I had the pleasure of having Kelly as my couslor. I will be forever grateful for her. With God's help, she gave me a different outlook on life. For once in my life, I could open up to someone. I knew she cared from the get-go. I could go on and on about this place, but I highly recommend this program. Megan, Bre., Kinzee, and John were also amazing!!! Some other staff members were great as well. Jack, the night staff worker, is so respectful. We would wake up at 6 a.m. 3 days a week to go to pickle ball. I thought it would be the dumbest thing, but it turned out to be a great time. He was always smiling, making me laugh. Mostly, I also felt comfortable talking to him. Waking up coming downstairs, and it was exciting. To have someone to talk to. I thank God for giving me this opportunity. To realize that their are good people who do care. It's like family. I meet some very cool peers. Still talk to them now. It was truly 1 of the hardest goodbyes I ever had to say. I would love to go back to tell my story to others. Life of Soberity is something amazing, and God is so powerful
