OASIS is a two story IRTs facility in Golden Valley Minnesota OASIS focus is to provide/support its' residents with the means required ADVOCATING housing, parking, beds, showers, meals, medication management and… assigned daily chores OASIS target is to promote/guide mental and physical health; acquire/maintain/sustain healthy relationships and like EVERY THERAPY aim to establish a well balanced self-esteem and work ethic. OASIS features daily groups (weekends off) Groups are NOT MANDATORY. Attendance earns residents an entry into a weekly raffle (gift cards) Upon intake, residents are assigned a room (one roommate) and counselor. TECHNICAL COMPLAINT; residents don't get to pick their counselor *Of course the dynamics of the house change as residents enter and leave. **Drama will be had and cliques will faction. ***It's how to properly confront, diffuse, compromise and extinguish said problems to live joyfully, civilly, co-exist or at least modestly sneer. Each counselor hosts their own group asking residents to "check in" HOW ARE YOU TODAY? WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS? with additional ONE ON ONE private session held in their counselor office. Weekday 6pm house meetings in the dining area (NOT MANDATORY but influenced to ATTEND obviously) where residents once again "check in" and spiel their day and goals. Word games; hints are given and resident whom guesses correctly wins a few dollars. Residents also vote for a night outing (gas station, strip mall featuring dollar store, smoke shop and thrift store) THE BIG PICTURE is to rehab resident into an ASSERTIVE & POSITIVE launch into society *ESTABLISHING FIRM HOUSING *CONTINUED SELF-CARE *EMPLOYMENT OASIS is officially billed for a three month stint. HOWEVER, residents ARENT FORCED TO STAY and length of stay can even be extended. GOD WILLING HEALTHCARE
