How Much Does Treatment at Osprey House Cost?

As NHS Highland’s outpatient point of referral, structured community treatment of this kind in the Inverness area typically runs to around £1,200–£4,000 a month in private-market terms; an area estimate rather than Osprey House’s own rates. In practice, since this is an NHS service, support here may be available at no direct cost to Highland residents, with eligibility depending on residency and how someone is referred.

The best next step is to contact Osprey House directly, or ask a GP, about how the single point of referral works, what an initial appointment involves, and what happens if ongoing support is needed beyond the first assessment.

Osprey House Reviews

Anyone who has used Osprey House’s referral service, a family member who has supported someone through it, or a professional who has referred a client here is welcome to add a review describing what that process was like.

Beyond reviews, it’s worth considering how the service is staffed and regulated, and asking directly how the single point of referral leads into further treatment, and what typically happens between an initial appointment and any follow-on support.

It was a nice time with a arm that was sprained having to wait about 2 or 3 hours until we were told to rebook for yesterday because it was busy 2 days ago but other than that the staff were great as usual

I was travelling on holiday when I became seriously ill with an extremely painful condition. When I arrived at the Emergency Department, I was treated with such kindness and care that I immediately felt safe and looked… after. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly friendly, attentive, and compassionate. I didn’t have to wait long to see the doctor, and I left with a diagnosis, all the medication I needed for my treatment, and medication to help control the pain. And, just as it would have been in my home country, Brazil, I didn’t have to pay anything for my care. Despite being sick, scared, and so far from home, having such easy access to high-quality healthcare was truly outstanding. The kindness and professionalism of everyone who cared for me made an incredibly frightening experience so much easier. I wish I could personally thank every person who helped me that day, and I sincerely hope that some of them will read this review and know how grateful I am. I couldn’t have wished for better care, and I will always remember their kindness with immense gratitude.

I arrived at Inverness Hospital at 7:20 p.m. I checked in at reception, gave them my details, and waited approximately one hour for an initial assessment. Up to that point, I completely understood that hospitals can be… extremely busy and that patients must be seen according to the urgency of their condition. After that initial assessment, I was told that I needed to continue waiting. The hours went by and, after approximately another four and a half hours, I approached reception simply to ask how much longer I might have to wait. What really upset me was not only the waiting time, but the attitude of the receptionist. She seemed to find my question amusing and replied along the lines of, “Well, it’s only been four and a half hours, you can wait a little longer.” When she could clearly see the frustration on my face, she closed the window and then started commenting about the situation with her colleague while they laughed. I find this an incredible lack of empathy and respect towards a patient. Nobody goes to hospital for entertainment or because they enjoy sitting in a waiting room for six hours. People are there because they may be in pain, worried, frightened, or concerned about their health. I can completely understand a long wait when there are more urgent emergencies that need to be prioritised. What I cannot understand or accept is a patient’s concern being treated as a joke. We pay our taxes and contribute towards the NHS, and it is extremely disappointing to receive this kind of treatment. Almost six hours waiting, and when you politely ask what is happening, you are met with laughter and a reception window being closed in your face. A very disappointing experience. A lack of resources or a heavy workload may explain a long waiting time; a lack of basic courtesy, respect and empathy does not.

i asked for pills for my contractions they refused first time talked over my mum they said to stitch me up but they might break my water so i said no and then i went into contractions after a pill they gave me and i… asked for the pill again to stop them and they waited until i started going into labour then had a doctor pulling my kids head even though i hadnt dilated enough making it that it ripped its next in two places and when i said it hurts the doctor said u said that already. They could of saved my kid otis but they didnt they are murders and nothing else if it was a muslim they would of done everything. Justice for my kid otis that they killed and blamed on me.

I cannot praise Raigmore enough : the hospital, the amazing, double amazing staff, the after-care. I have been in and out lots recently, 1st with breast cancer, then diagnosed with Parkinson’s, then I needed a massive… operation on my foot, all of this recieving brilliant after-care. Since then I have had two heart attacks and right from the moment I presented at A&E they were brilliant (sorry, I’ve run out of words) and I always felt in safe hands. Two stents later and I am fit and well - heart ticking away nicely, cancer gone and foot now doing what it should. Obviously, still have Parkinson’s, but receiving great, positive care for that. Thankyou Raigmore. 👏🥰👏🥰👏👏👏You’re the best. 😁

We were here during our vacation and therefore didn't really know our way around. Unfortunately, we didn't know where to go. However, all the staff were very friendly and helped us find the right place in the clinic.… Since it was the emergency room, we had to wait a bit, but that was perfectly fine.

so well helped by nurses and doctor from the emergency room, after a painful sprain of my foot. An x-ray was made to see if there was a fracture. The doctor took her time to look at and explain the photos. She was… friendly and gave a medical report with diagnosis and exercises. Thanks for the good care!

An absolute five star experience when I gave birth in 06/02/2017, 13/07/2019 and 12/09/2021 a thank you to the nurses of the birth ward I felt very safe. I am so satisfied when I came to A&E that the nurse said to me… what’s mental health got to do with it? Thank you so much.

An absolute nightmare!!, the first 2 times we had to attend with my granddaughter were of course essential but there was no wiggle room with the appointments, when we tried to explain that money was short (after the 3rd… visit in a month 2.30 hours travel time) we were promptly told money isn't the issue!, at every opportunity we get blackmailed with social services. If we even disagree or try to explain we get told they're going to get social services to look into things. The newer pediatrician bounces in her chair rolling her eyes, smirks and threatens again with social services. Our grandchild has 2 rare conditions is only 5, already has white coat syndrome, terrified of her and some of the other specialists. Now we're being made to bring her in again for 2 weeks. Only to be used as a test subject again, so time will tell but now I have a lawyer on standby and a dear friend who is a reporter in London who has a special interest in the NHS....

I cannot thank the Scottish Ambulance crew who came out to my husband at Ben Wyvis Hotel on Saturday 21st March enough for looking after my husband Richard when he was taken ill. They blue lighted him to hospital,… rushed him in and looked after him. Hospital staff in A&E took over and made him comfortable with his high temperature and got him on antibiotics. He stayed in overnight and was on a ward this morning, Sunday 22nd March. Thank you so much for everything you did for him. A very grateful wife. A wonderful hospital with fabulous staff, ooh and free parking too. Xx

I’m really not satisfied at all. Last night around end of the night, we had to call emergency for an ambulance because my friend couldn’t even move from his bed due to severe knee pain. This morning he went to the… hospital, but they only gave him a painkiller and told him to wait. He is still sitting in the waiting room. It’s very disappointing to see such a lack of care and urgency from the doctors and nurses. This situation is extremely frustrating. 😔🤬🤬🤬🤬
