Wow, they are the best thing that could have happened to my son with autism. They just achieved what I never imagined he could do: put on the goggles and dive under himself. You don't know how much joy and emotion this… fills me with. Thank you so much to those guys and girls.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My son was referred to Service First of Northern California through VMRC, and we have been coming here since May 2026. When I tell you I have seen such a big difference in my son, I truly mean it. My son is… on the autism spectrum, Level 3, and is nonverbal. When we first started, he was very attached to me — definitely my little “Velcro baby.” Being comfortable away from me and trusting other people has always taken time for him. But watching his progress here has made me so happy and proud. He absolutely loves the water, and now he is comfortable going with his instructor without needing me right by his side. That is a BIG accomplishment for him. I especially want to acknowledge Isabella and Alicia. Isabella, I love her dearly! The patience, kindness, and understanding they have shown my son have truly made a difference. They did not rush him or force him to be comfortable before he was ready. They gave him the time and space he needed to build trust, and as a mother, that means so much to me. When you have a child with autism, especially a child who is nonverbal, finding people who take the time to understand your child and make them feel safe is everything. Isabella and Alicia have helped my son become more independent, comfortable, and confident being with someone other than me. We still have more growing and learning to do, but I can see the progress, and I am grateful for everyone who has played a part in it. Thank you, Service First of Northern California, and a special thank you to Isabella and Alicia for caring for my son, being patient with him, and helping him grow at his own pace. You both have made a real difference in our lives, and this mama truly appreciates you. ❤️

Was referred here for swimming lessons for my autistic son through VMRC. Staff is not very patient with my son. Not sure why we were referred to them in the first place if they are not willing to work with a child's… special needs. Instead of being flexible and inclusive, they have are rigid and kicked my son out for crying and being upset. If your child has autism, I would suggest not to waste your time and look elsewhere. Facilities are older and sub par and staff doesn't seem to like their job. Will be taking him elsewhere.

My son has been attending swim lessons here since November of 2024. He loves coming to his swim lessons and constantly ask if he has any swim lessons on his schedule. He has never complained of any of his swim… instructors and often says he can't wait to go swimming with them! My son started when he was 3 and will be turning 5 soon. I love that the instructors are very patient with him at the beginning to slowly introduced him to become more independent in the water! He has progressed so much from his first day! Scheduling and rescheduling has always been pleasant and the team tries their best to work with our schedule. We appreciate this very much as we are a very busy family. We really enjoy the services they provide and had just registered my younger 3 year old son as well. He has been doing swim lessons for 1 month. They have been very patient and kind in getting my younger son to feel more comfortable in the water. I'm positive my younger son will progress in his swim skills soon as well!

I"ve noticed they got more swim teachers than students; which is good for me and its affordable compared to Livermoore Swim Academy.

We love the facility. The office staff is easy to get a hold of and they do their very best to work around our schedule and reschedules. The swim instructors have all been great. They are attentive to kiddos especially… those with special needs. They cater their swim lessons around the kids needs while still providing a fun and safe environment. We are truly grateful we switched from the other company to Service First. My son absolutely loves coming here.

My special needs son loves his swim therapy here. Office staff as well as swim coaches are well trained and when my son is hesitant they always help him feel comfortable. It takes special people to work with kids and… for the last eight months we have been here it has been wonderful.

Hands down the best swim program VMRC offers. I have two kiddos on the autism spectrum attending the aquatics center under the supervision of Flora. I’ve had one of my children in the other swim program VMRC offers and… this program is far better. The staff are professional, kind, and considerate. They definitely are experienced in working with children on the autism spectrum. The only down side is that we live out of town and it takes us 30 minutes to get there and then another 30 minutes to get back home. However, it is just a testament to how amazing the program and staff are, they are totally worth the commute. Thank you to Flora, Irene, Fantasia, Julissa and the rest of the team. We love you and appreciate your hard work.

I have 2 children on the spectrum one non verbal and one who is verbal. My son who is verbal went through the whole program and absolutely loved it. He was even sad when he graduated even though it meant he knew how to… swim. My daughter is still a student there and the staff is incredibly patient and accommodating to her. Teaching special needs children to swim takes a special individual. The staff there have so much patience not even just with the kids but also with the parents. Some parents there have made things so much more difficult and or impossible. I applaud the staff there and am so thankful for this program. Because the only other program I found cost over $300 and you don't even get as many sessions. So I recommend this program and all the people there.

The review is for Aquatic therapy department. My son who is 5 years and autistic is very polite, kind, follows instructions and is verbal. His instructor julissa along with other black instructor kicked him out of the… pool for spitting out water from his mouth when I took matters to flora, she was extremely rude and don’t know how to handle a situation professionally instead she said we are terminating the services for you son, thank you my son deserves better and will be taking him to a place where we don’t feel unwelcome.

The people here at this establishment claim to work with special needs children. However it seems like most of the instructors here have 0 patience for said children. As a parent of a child with autism I am WARNING you… to STAY away!

Swimming instructors, Fantasia and Ebony, do not know how to deal with autistic children, they have no patience and are very stone faced, if ‘SERVICE FIRST’ is the company’s aim, then these instructors need to be… re-educated in the field of helping disabled children.
