VCS Inc – New City Detox and Rehab Services

VCS Inc – New City carries a listing for intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Day programming is scheduled, with evenings spent at home. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

VCS Inc – New City Address, Location and Contact Information

Records give the address as 77 South Main Street, New City, New York, 10956. New City sits in Rockland County. Provision extends to the wider area, so check the journey before you set off. Public transport, parking and the length of the journey all affect whether someone completes a course of treatment, and they are worth settling before the first appointment rather than after.

A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. If getting there is hard, ask about a remote first appointment. If the first call does not reach anyone, try again at a different time of day rather than assuming the service is closed.

Help when your in desperate need of mental health

★☆☆☆☆

This is what I want to the VCS owner. “ Hello my name is ____. I have no idea who I’m meant to send this complaint to but this is something very concerning for not only me, but the wellbeing of other patients. Dr. Landy… has given me so many medications that it messed me up so mentally I lost my mind. He gave me pills and pills and pills and eventually I went back (on my own) to my old medication and feel A MILLION times better. This man is 80 years old. He should have his license revoked. I am appalled that he wrote down diagnoses that He didn’t Even LET ME KNOW OF. He ALWAYS puts the incorrect medication and never remembers what I’m on. I need a call back from the director or someone or I need to report this man individually. He’s pill popping poor innocent people with mental issues. I NEVER had this problem with the old Psychologist. Please help me figure this out. This man is genuinely making things worse. He gave me Xanax on top of Ativan and I’m just so confused why he would let this happen KNOWING it’s an addictive drug. Absolutely appalled and disgusted. I will be writing a review about this entire place. This is so unprofessional and I was hospitalized for a day because of his pill popping. He was giving me medication that doesn’t even match my diagnosis. So please if someone can call me back PROFESSIONALLY that would be great.”

Don't risk your mental health. It's nothing to be played with and they will play with it. That review about "if you need to be pushed to jump, contact this place, very unhelpful" isn't a lie.

I've been calling and leaving a message for 3 months and do not get a call back. Guess they don't want to offer their services. I missed an appointment 3 months ago and since have been asking to reschedule because my… medicine can no longer be refilled without a prescription. They do not answer. Now my medicine is up and I'm not right mentally because they had me on this just to refuse to call me back to schedule a appointment to meet the psych again and get a new script. Reported to DOH and BBB. Edit: you called because you got a bad review, not because I was begging for my medication, not because you refused to answer calls, not because you weren't setting up my medical transportation...but because you have a bad review. Terrible business. Yes you called me off the hook after this review.. But had no interest in my place for help, getting medical transport to visit the site, or anybody answering my calls in regards to my medication. Bad business, terrible for mental health

This provider violated HIPAA and then threatened to sue me when I attempted to address it. Do not use this place. They breached federal privacy law and tried to make me feel as if I had done something wrong, despite VCS… being the ones in clear violation. ↓

Had a really great therapist. He helped me during a really tough time in my life. He helped me with so many things. I was seeing him 2 times a week. Through his help I was able to talk freely. He offered ways to cope.… He taught me how to overcome. I like that he was ethnic so he understood the things that we have to overcome. I don't know if he is still there but if he is God bless him. Thank you J for all your help.

They never answer calls . I called like 8 times leaving messages and nothing crazy I went physical to this office because they don’t answer calls voicemails. This is very inconvenient for a patient that is trying to… look for help.

I came in to this place years ago and met Bonnie, who saved my life. I was in no place to do anything when I met her. It would be a shame if the government doesn't fund the one useful thing it should. If you want to… lower crime and stop government dependency, fund mental health. I would be dead, or a criminal without VCS

The new "OWN IT" class through the Volunteer Counseling Service was helpful and insightful. The class covered very practical skills like setting healthy limits with time and personal space, becoming aware of obstacles… in our daily routines, and ways to build better daily habits that help create a more satisfying genuine life. The course helped gain a better understanding of our emotions, things that every person should be taught throughout our life (but we are not) and how they work, and how our thoughts truly shape what we feel. The class encouraged treating ourselves and our bodies with greater kindness and balance. One of the most impactful lessons was identifying what we are "saying" and thinking to ourselves and understanding how it can either support or sabotage us. The course instructors, Kristine and Maritza were both wonderful and extremely supportive. The course increased my self-awareness and gave me tools I can use in my everyday life.

As someone who has been a client and patient of VCS since 2019 or so, my experience and input comes after several years and multiple different interactions. When I first came seeking help for mental health, I got it,… yet as time went by it felt like pulling teeth just to either get in touch with someone or to get on the same page as someone. I truly regret having to write this review, but I'm left with no choice. I truly hope they improve before it is too late. I just can't hold my tongue about this any further.

I cannot say enough good things about my counselor, Bonnie and VCS. I had been suicidal and had pretty much given up on living. I met my counselor and she absolutely changed my life. We worked on my cognitive behavior… and slowly began to chip away at what was going on. We went deep. Through her love and support.....I can honestly say that I'm better. I am heading back to the workforce with a renewed sense of hope. The volunteers and staff at VCS truly care about the people they serve. They will work with you based on you......not what you have. These people are a GODSEND and I cannot express how grateful I am to my counselor. She helped me save my life. If you need help......you are at the right place.

If I could leave zero stars, I would Currently looking for new drs. The inconsistency has become such a problem that it is effecting me . Nobody answers the phones and medication the past 3 months has been wrong or… unable to fill Because of drs negligence. I went 6 days without medication because my Doctors license for Medicaid was revoked or needed to be renewed and I’m not sure how that’s the patient’s problem but when I was trying to get my medication, it was a runaround because patience was off from Friday to Monday and I was left to figure things out on my own and struggle mentally. That’s dangerous to leave patients without medication and currently because of the inconsistency of my prescription dose and quantity, I am unable to pick up my medication because my doctor had sent in the wrong prescription so now I have to wait till Monday and pray that they actually answer their phones. I’m currently getting my medical record from this location and moving onto someone else who has more care for their patients.

It was well worth the wait to get into VCS! They are professional, friendly, caring and offer a wide range of services all in one location/agency! I am fortunate to have an excellent therapist and am thankful to be a… part of VCS.

Haven't answered my calls in months, prescribed me medication just to take it away basically by ignoring my calls for help to make an appointment to see my therapist and psychiatrist. I recommend calling the better… business bureau. This is illegal and we are getting a lawyer. You cannot prescribe someone mind altering medication and refuse to give them services by refusing to call back or schedule an appointment. I recommend you get a better office manager, someone who can pickup and answer phone calls for the legal battle you are about to encounter.

Worst office ever! I have the best counselor but the rest of the staff especially Paula who never answers the phone! Not to mention I've been 2weeks without meds! So i see the only way to get a response is to leave a… negative review!!!!! I was supposed to have a zoom with Dr Landry at 10am ,however, no one emailed me the link for the meeting - who do you have working over there??? I should report you to OMH!!!! Called again and Paula still not answering the phone. I reported VCS to OMH!

Patience halved my medication, took me off another medication, and put me on two additional medications and then gaslit me and told me that it “wasn’t too much” when it clearly was. She didn’t know anything about the… medication I went on that actually helped me. Continued to get mad when I advocated my needs and ultimately told me I was on too much medication….. that she put me on in the first place. Accused me of causing “chaos” when I didn’t like all the changes she had made to my regimen. Gaslit me and accused me of being jittery one visit when I wasn’t. My appointments with her were consistently less than 5 minutes long. Her bedside manner is awful, she says she’s “not sugarcoating” things but in reality she’s dismissive. Marjorie is great on the other hand and actually makes me feel listened to.

2 stars for presumed successful results some clients. I am a health professional. Your VCS,New City NY places and subsidizes some clients in an Apartment complex in Pearl River NY. Apparently even if they are elderly… and could be in senior or specialty housing . A client in weekly therapy for over 35 years has a history of Borderline Personality Disorder and Hoarding. He told me over time in laundromat conversations your agency does only brief monthly Apartment walk-thru's by appointment. Such 'inspections' only 12 times a year out of 365 days seems inadequate. Furthermore, your client states he agreed to have local Fire Dept shutdown his stove to deter fire-potential. The client receives SSI and works 30 hours weekly for $18 hr. I wonder why he's not in better oversight housing options. ? And why your agency doesn't free-up space and funds for younger more needy clients ?
