The National Preferred Provider Network, or NPPN, is a nationwide PPO network that gives health plans, administrators and self-funded employers access to discounted rates with participating providers. It is not an insurer itself. Plans that use NPPN can include coverage for drug and alcohol treatment, with benefits set by the member’s own plan and varying by network rules and level of care.
