Casa de Saúde Bento Menni – Guarda

Casa de Saúde Bento Menni is a psychiatric hospital and care home in the city of Guarda, run by the Irmãs Hospitaleiras (Hospitaller Sisters) since it opened in 1994. The unit offers outpatient consultations, inpatient care, psychosocial rehabilitation and a community mental health intervention office for adults, older adults and adults with intellectual disability. No addiction service is listed.

The unit was built on land donated by two local residents, José dos Santos and his sister Maria dos Santos, and the street carries his name. Its operator, the Instituto das Irmãs Hospitaleiras do Sagrado Coração de Jesus, lists psychiatry and mental health, psychosocial rehabilitation and intellectual disability as the unit’s specialities, with outpatient, inpatient and rehabilitation responses. Consultations cover general psychiatry, psychogeriatrics, dementia and adult intellectual disability, and inpatient care is provided for psychiatry, psychogeriatrics and intellectual disability.
