Southwest Behavioral and Health Servs Reviews and Ratings
Accreditation and licensing tell part of the story at Southwest Behavioral and Health Servs. Reviews from patients and their loved ones tell another part, and the two are shown on this page so they can be read together.
Edit: adding in that I forgot my appointment, had no reminders, and called their office. They told me if I could make it within a few minutes, that was fine. I got in, officially 8 minutes total late to my appointment,… sat until about 1:19, then they called me up to tell me they wanted to take another patient in first before me. I had to get back to work and said that didn't work for me. I can understand that is because I was late, but I had originally called at 1:04 to ask if it was too late to go in or if it was okay. I wasn't alerted sooner to needing to wait for another patient, otherwise I wouldn't have left work to go in and just rescheduled anyway. Yet if I'm 15 minutes early to appointments, I still find myself in the waiting room 30-45 minutes past my appointments. Old: I've run into several problems with this place. At first it was okay, but the fact I can't get around easily and they often miscommunicate my requests for phone-only appointments to physical ones and have canceled them on me for being late when waiting on their calls. Recently they made it so those of us needing desperate therapy can only have a single appointment per month, and would not allow the scheduling to be placed more often than once per month. I went through hell to go through my therapist, psychiatrist, and their supervisor to schedule up to three appointments at a time, bi-weekly, just for them to revert it back to once a month due to their system suddenly saying I didn't have authorization to schedule ahead. Their therapists are overbooked, so I wouldn't be able to get in with mine any sooner, and it caused my anxiety to build up. When it comes to their reminders system, I never got emails. I would only get text reminders about 65% of the time, and guess what? Sometimes I'd be sent the wrong times. The phone call reminder was so buggy that as soon as the recording started, it would be playing in slow motion. I would never say that staff doesn't care for their clientele. I think there's a major flaw in their system setup and it not communicating reliably between them and their patients. Like I was sent a text reminder at a certain time for a health assessment, and when I checked-in, they never told me I was late or missed it. I sat in the lobby for 45 minutes until my therapist called me to tell me I missed it and I was confused because I had been waiting in the lobby that entire time. They refused to take me in still to get the assessment done despite that. I think, if anything, their systems need to be revised and looked at to better help patients.
Amazing caring staff. They actually care about people, they treated me like a friend or a family member of a great family. Sheri is amazing, Mary has changed my life for the better and Kimberly was actually concerned… about my physical health as well as my mental health, even Andrea at the front desk and the Pharmacist were on my side when I had a medical emergency. If you need some help with mental health I highly recommend the team at SWBH on Areo Dr.
This is a good place to start, but for long term care IMO seek out a real professional Dr not just PA. When you tell them you are doing better but still need improvement, there needs to be an action plan not just… prescribing the same meds.
I love it!!! My privider Sherrily, counselor Ruth and the whole staff made me feel comfortable, the knowledgeable, professional manner is impressive. Thanks to all of you for your help and kindness. Debbie
SEEK TREATMENT ELSEWHERE I went for 1 visit. I immediately ended any services with them. The danger in they’re treatment is they don’t/ or won’t see you as an individual. We as humans are complex and should be… considered as such. Not sure if they’re capable of doing this. But my mental health is too important to wait and find out. Not impressed with having a type of “teleheath “ visit in the OFFICE. If I must show up in person, they should also. Obviously there system doesn’t work for all. They need to consider that. I refuse to have my mental health handled with a lazy, hazy attitude. But the question is should you??
Don't really care about your mental health just talk via tellahealth no 1 on 1 in person seems she really being bothered by the patient and does not take into account how ur feeling

Friendliest people you will ever meet;
I have recommended Southwest Behavioral to several people that I felt could use their help. They've helped me to come a very long way. Frankly, I don't know where I would be right now if it weren't for them.
SBH has been an excellent provider for me since 2016. In the Payson area, they are the best!
