Perhaps most impactful is the dedication of the counselors. The staff are deeply engaged, present, and attuned to each client’s individual journey, balancing professionalism with genuine compassion. My weekly one-on-one sessions were integral to my growth, and I always felt heard and supported knowing I could speak with any counselor when needed. The alumni community serves as a continuing extension of the program, offering ongoing connection, accountability, and encouragement as I continue to grow in my recovery. Redwood Recovery treats recovery as education, connection, and transformation combined. For anyone seeking a recovery environment that is emotionally intelligent, thorough, and grounded in both science and compassion, this program offers an exceptional and deeply meaningful path to recovery. Hi, my name is Richard and I'm an alcoholic. I have been struggling on and off with alcohol use disorder for over 30 years and have been to rehab and seen counselors many times in my 70 years. I have found some folks… more helpful than others when I sought help with sobriety and mental health. I met Kerry Durkee as the managing counselor at one of the finest rehabs in California, Singing Trees Rehab Center. Sadly, STRC is gone, but the help provided by Kerry continues at Redwood Recovery Center. While RRC is just getting off the ground, Kerry brings decades of experience to the center. Kerry is competent, wise, and compassionate. Plus, she has a wicked sense of humor. She is bringing to RRC some of the finest counselors in Humboldt such as Antonio Godoy. I recommend Redwood Recovery Center to all who have substance abuse issues.
