This place is a PRISON! My husband went there last week and I can't get through to ANYBODY to talk to him! He even left his phone at home! I make calls and nobody returns them, not even his appointed counselor!… Riverside staff is MUCH BETTER! At least they take messages and let's their patients know who called!
My experience with FHE and the people involved has been a truly meaningful part of my recovery journey. When I first came into the community, I wasn’t sure what the road ahead was going to look like, but I found… support, encouragement, understanding, and people who genuinely cared. The relationships and connections I made here have meant more to me than I can really put into words. Being surrounded by people who understand the journey and continue to encourage one another has made a meaningful difference and positive impact in my life. I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who played a part in helping me get to where I am today. Reaching one year in recovery is something I’m very proud and grateful to celebrate, and I’ll always appreciate the people who helped me along the way. If you’re considering taking that first step, I hope my experience can remind you that you don’t have to walk the journey alone. ❤️
This place will hold your loved one for as long as possible so that they can charge insurance as much as possible. Recovery here is almost impossible as it is designed to keep people coming back. This is an immoral… organization that only looks to profit off of addicts. Do NOT send anyone you love anywhere near this place.
Having been at FHE I know first hand the amount of care, and support that the staff provide. Especially the front line staff, they call the MHS. They are available 24/7 if you want to talk. Counselors are great too. The… staff also call and check in with you after you leave. They really support their Alumni. I am grateful for FHE. This program saves lives!
Going to the Shatterproof Program at FHE Health was the best decision I have ever made. From the therapists and technicians to the nursing staff and doctors, every person I encountered took my health seriously and… played an instrumental role in my recovery. The staff were kind, compassionate, and truly dedicated to helping me heal. They offered multiple methods of therapy and created an environment where I felt supported throughout my journey. This program truly changed my life—and, quite honestly, it saved my life. I would highly recommend Shatterproof to anyone struggling with PTSD, addiction, or any other mental health disorder. I will forever be grateful for the care, compassion, and support I received there.
From the first night in detox the staff made me feel safe and looked after me. Clean facility, professional and people who actually LISTENED. I left their program years ago but i discovered the tools I needed to use… every day.
I completed the Shatterproof program for PTS in October of 2025. It was truly what I needed in my life and I’m grateful for the staff who put our mental health first and helped get so many first responders back home!
The compassion and care that this place has towards its clients is amazing. The Alumni Team Joi and John are amazing people and will go above and beyond to help make all the events, and meetings special. The dedication… the company has as a whole to help people is amazing. This place will always hold a special place on in my heart! If you come into this place with an open mind and use the people at your disposal such as therapist, case managers, alumni services you can be successful at a higher rate than most places in my opinion. This place is a collective of some the greatest people in the field for Mental Health and Substance abuse programs are one of the best on the east coast and definitely some the best in southern florida. Give this place a hundred percent with honesty, vulnerability and willingness and they will give you a 100 percent back.
Brian Dowd, my program director called me in and welcomed me with warm heartedness. Tried his best to make me comfortable and rightfully accept the treatment that I needed and reinforced my support network. Very family… like treatment from him and fellow patients. Definitely a plus
I had an incredible experience at FHE in Deerfield Beach, FL. From the first day until my last, the entire staff was competent, compassionate and inspirational. I have been sober and immersed in recovery ever since. I… can't recommend these amazing folks enough. And that's the TRUTH. You can learn how to overcome the incomprehensible demoralization that full blown addiction imparts to us. Go there if you need it. You'll never be sorry that you did
They play fast and loose with diagnosis so they can check a box and bill The insurance accordingly. They’re not trustworthy.
Go here if you need help trust me you will thank me later 🙏🔥🐚
I would not recommend this place. I went here for a total of 12 days. During my experience there things started to get repetitive. Meaning the information they give and teach were repetitive. The most help i received… was from the group sessions and speaking to those in need. I felt like the treatment program they had in place did not fit my needs. Once i decided to leave they had me sign an AMA (Against Medical Advise) although i was not there by court order, medical order, or by and entity that would place you in such programs. Before i left my home (1000 miles away), i asked if i would be provided transportation back to my home if i wanted to leave and they stated yes. Once i signed the AMA, it was like they completely abandoned me. They did not provide me with transportation back home (plane ticket, uber), they cancelled my FMLA and Short Term Disability (to be expected), what i wasn't expecting was to be fired from my job because they would not write me a letter stating i could return back to work. Mind you i have 3 young kids, a wife, and a 5bdr home i am responsible for. I would advise people to stay as far away from this place as you can. They are here for insurance money not to really help which is why i got more from the clients than i did from the program. I also came to this place looking for tools and information to prepare myself for a divorce (that i was asking for). I did not come here for mental health issues and my mental health is fairly healthy.
I had a very positive experience at FHE Health in June 2022, which made my more recent experience especially disappointing. The operations, communication, and overall patient support felt drastically different this time… around. There appeared to be significant communication breakdowns between staff and departments, inconsistent understanding of policies, and a lack of coordination when problems arose. After sustaining an injury during my stay, I did not feel there was an appropriate discharge plan or adequate support in place, which added unnecessary emotional stress during an already difficult situation. I do believe there are staff members there who genuinely care, and I remain grateful to those individuals. However, I hope leadership takes a serious look at communication, patient safety, and discharge planning so future patients receive better support and continuity of care.
I checked myself into the Shatterproof program three years ago. It turned out to be one of the best things to happen in my adult life. I am a recovered alcoholic with PTSD after dozens of incidents as a big city police… officer. I entered the program a hopeless broken man. The good people at FHE helped me see another way of living. They are devoted and seemed to really care. If you have reached the end of your rope just try doing this program. I did what they told me and was willing to try. Sober 3 years now. Thank you FHE.
Was impressed by the therapists, the group facilitators, and my case manager. but the technicians (both within admissions and just for facility grounds) were incredibly unprofessional (intrusive questions, lies, smoke… in mirrors, inappropriate relationships). Also the nursing staff was questionable—half were amazing at their jobs, the other half were unqualified, especially when handling diabetics— I couldn’t receive correct insulin dosages for 5 days, prohibiting me from being able to eat. Make sure you advocate for yourself if you come here. And have a good lawyer. Also, undoubtedly the rudest cafeteria staff and frequently unappetizing food I’ve ever had the displeasure of being around. Be mindful that if you eat at the cafeteria, you’re getting minuscule portions and aren’t allowed to ask for seconds. There was also blatant favoritism and double standards with Shatterproof clientele. Shatterproof always got first dibs, better care, and bending of the rules. Which was unfair. Be mindful that if you come here, document EVERYTHING that goes wrong. The communication between techs, facilitators, and coordinators is non existent. The alumni staff and group coordinators are pretty good though. Just advocate for yourself.
FHE Health changed my brother's life. After several rehab journeys, he found this program. The caring staff & excellent program at FHE helped him heal and grow. So grateful!
FHE saved my life! I went there suffering from severe alcoholism. I stayed for the 30 day program of detoxification and rigorous rehabilitation. This program gave me the opportunity to get my life back together and… become the best person I am today, free from drugs and alcohol. I can't say enough about the caring and very professional doctors, technicians, therapists, and staff in general. Because of their guidance and program structure I celebrated 5 years of sobriety in January 2026. I highly recommend this facility for anyone struggling with drug or alcohol dependency or behavioral health issues.
I am forever grateful to FHE Health, I truly believe that without them, my son wouldn't be here today. He arrived in a very dark place, having lost the will to live, but the staff wrapped their arms around him and… supported and pushed him until he could love himself again. They had incredible patience and the expertise to guide him through almost 90 days of treatment for substance abuse and mental health, literally bringing him back to life. FHE gave him the tools he needed to stay sober and prepared him to get back into the world. After completing the program, the FHE Alumni family took over, providing the ongoing support that keeps him going through life’s tough moments. Through weekly meetings and team-building events like ice skating and community service, he has found a sober family that stays connected. He now has nearly four years of sobriety (in August), a thriving career in marine construction, and the joy of giving back to the 'new guys' just starting their journey in FHE. Thank you, FHE, for the compassion and the community that gave me my son back.
FHE was an instrumental part in setting my loved one on the road to success. She learned so much more there than anywhere else she had been. The staff are dedicated, professional and compassionate. Due to the tremendous… support she received she was able to make real progress on getting to the root of her problems. FHE communicated effectively with us every step of the way as addiction impacts the whole family. FHE also offers a family group that meets weekly for additional support. The facility is state of the art with lots to offer. Our loved one found the gym and volleyball court to be instrumental in encouraging a sense of community and healthy choices. She was able to make connections and feel a measure of self-worth that had been missing. The transformation is amazing and it’s wonderful to see how happy and healthy she is. Thank you FHE!!
My stay at FHE Health was life-changing! The high quality of care was demonstrated by the staff. They showed me compassion, professionalism and really cared about my mental health journey. The doctors and nurses and… techs were attentive and supportive which helped me adjust to my stay there. The facility is very clean and maintained well. The food was much better than I anticipated. Many thanks to Tara, Dr. Kash and Patty for their assistance and support during my stay. If you're struggling with mental health or substance abuse issues, I highly recommend checking out FHE Health. My experience at FHE changed my life. They provided me with tools and resources to assist me with integrating back into the general society while remaining sober. I am forever grateful for the structure, support and care I received.
Therapists 5/5, Nursing Team 5/5. Support staff went above and beyond for me so that I felt heard. Amazing food on site.
It was clean, safe, well organized. It was a calm environment.
EDIT: I want to emphatically state that at NO point in time was I or my spouse informed that ASD was not treated by FHE. They were asked directly, and the dx was offered by me numerous times from intake onward; and… while they cannot disclose much due to HIPAA, I can. I was not the only Autistic patient in residence during my stay at FHE. If you or a loved one need treatment and are also Autistic: DO NOT USE FHE HEALTH. DO NOT believe their call center “salespeople.” That’s exactly what they are trained to do, sell you on this place. And it’s all smoke and mirrors. If FHE truly had any compassion or desire to improve they would have reached out to me directly, they have my contact info. So your boilerplate nonpology doesn’t sway my review in the slightest. I would remove two more stars if I could. This facility, and the operations therein, have absolutely ZERO business touting Autism Spectrum Disorder as a specialty when nearly every aspect of the daily operations is almost designed to disregulate Autistic individuals. Everything is chaotic, the answers about what is and is not allowed varies from every single “mental health technician” and nurse to another; and those rules are changed almost daily by the Director of Operations. While the psychiatric team there was probably the only positive, the other treatment by way of groups was an absolute joke. $50 on Amazon could buy you a selection of self help books that would serve you better. Also do avoid the extra “perks” like massage therapy and/or cupping treatments unless you want to also wind up with an ER bill on top of the $$$ you’ll pay these snake oil salesmen. I’m sure your “industry standards” are just fine as far as the state of Florida is concerned; but that’s because the bar is on the floor and you’re using the hard earned money of vulnerable people to buy shovels. It’s a wonder you sleep at night.
FHE changed my life 13 years ago. The alumni department is incredible and still reaches out to this day. I’m forever grateful for this treatment center. The experience I had, and the people that helped me, made me want… to go back to school and get my masters in social work. Today I’m a therapist and giving back to the community, and I always share with others where my journey started in 2013.
I think what stood out to me most about FHE is the support hasnt ended when the treatment did. The alumni program helped me stay connected through meetings and community events. Years later I'm still grateful for the… role it played in my recovery. The location is beautiful and the main building is modern and clean, the outpatient buildings are not as new but well maintained. The team, everyone from the techs to the doctors all had time for me and I think the most important thing is, it felt like they wanted to be there and were interested in my recovery.
thank you fhe! when i stopped running, i found fhe and thank god i did!
FHE was very kind to me during my detox process. Staff was knowledgeable and quick to help in this sensitive and mind confusing time. I recommend there services in a high reguard.
I am a retired firefighter who struggles with PTSD, anxiety, and depression, and this place truly changed my life. From the therapists to the nursing staff, everyone was compassionate, professional, and genuinely cared… about my mental health. The doctors and nurse practitioners were available and attentive, which gave me a strong sense of support and reassurance throughout my stay. The facility itself is beautiful and well maintained, with excellent amenities including a pool, gym, and volleyball court. The food was great, which made the experience even more comfortable. The transportation team that drove us to and from appointments was outstanding—always on time, professional, and dependable. As an added bonus, I’m proud to be a member of the FHE alumni program. The alumni community is amazing and provides ongoing support after treatment. They host several free events throughout the year, which helps you stay connected and supported. I strongly encourage anyone who completes the program to become part of the alumni—having that continued support truly makes a difference. Overall, my experience at FHE was truly life-changing, and I’m deeply grateful for the care, structure, and support I received.
