The site is at 5465 SW 34th Street in Gainesville, Florida, 32608. Gainesville sits in Alachua County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. Journey time and parking are not trivial details when treatment runs several times a week over months.

Im bone on bone in both knees with arthritis, I also have nerve pain with bulging or herniated disc. All the dr says is you need to be taken off all the pain meds and muscle relaxers without examining me, let me say… first of all she was late coming in and she acted like I was a paycheck instead of a patient who happens to be a vetran. I sent in a message requesting to see a chiropractor with his number so they could look up to see he sees vetrans, answer I get is physical therapy. I was also told pain management wouldn't didn't want to see me, so im having to drive over 700 miles round trip to see pain management and pay out of my pocket over 500.00 dollars because I had to move because after a car accident I couldn't work and had to go back to VA care. She wouldn't document the injury to my knee while in the navy so I could file my claim, her nurse told me the VSO has to document it, I lost all respect I had for her. So I spoke to the VSO and I basically stated I was told you document service injuries atleast thats what my doctors nurse told me. So my next trip the VSO and I will put in my request for another doctor. I knew something was wrong when I got in to see her in less than 2 weeks. When your mind tells you no listen to you mind. But I wanted to get seen have thing documented, so I can file my claim. A 3.7 review for a VA hospital is horrible and I see why because Dr. Panna would be lower than a one star if they had something lower along with pain management department. I will say ortopedics and prosthetics are a god send to vetrans with joint injuries, they actually examined my knees took measurements, I do understand that one day I will need knee replacements but my meds keep me from going under the scalpel for a procedure that still isnt guarantee a person wont have pain. I know alot of people who have had joints replaced and replaced joint that have failed. Aspirin and ibuprofen dont dull bone pain but thats their go too. Not every vetran is a drug addict, just like every illness can't be treated the same way. Stop lumping vetrans into the same box, give us the respect we deserve. Give me my pain meds, monitor me with urine test to insure im not abusing or taking illegal drugs. Holistic, weed, dummies aint my cup of tea. Cortisone shots dont work for every body and they can last for a day or a few months or not at all. My pain doctors have 60 years of experience in that office and I have been with them for almost 10 years and a doctor who hasn't examined me and a pain management that has examined, that has only seen an xray then made the decision not to see me. Should be fired for miss diagnosis. All they want to do is cut on you and unless a doctor has 15 to 30 years in an operating room is the only way I will be cut on other than emergency situations and I have no choice.
I have been sitting in the ER for 2hrs just now they did blood work and now I'm waiting to go in the back this the worst hospital
Drove down from Jacksonville for an ENT Consult. The receptionist was pleasant and on the ball, he was quick and professional at all time, even with the difficult vets. Saw DNP Kaminski would was polite, tentative and… answered all our questions. She came up with a game plan that we all felt was a good step in the right direction. Glad I made the drive.
ZERO stars. I’m about to contact Marcus littrell myself. Contacting someone via phone call is next to impossible. The automated voice HANGS UP on me every single time. The last primary care doctor I had and had to… switch from was the least caring and least sympathetic doctor ever. She was telling me how to parent my own child. I’ve tried calling several times today and to no availability, I wait wait wait AND WAIT and I wait so long it says no agents are available. WHERE IS THE CARE AND SUPPORT US VETERANS DESERVE AND NEED IN THIS WORLD!? WHY IS EVERYONE ALWAYS IN A HORRIBLE MOOD WHO WORKS THERE!?
If I could give this place zero stars I would. This place is one of the worst places I've been. The nurse in ICU has no sympathy and care about their patients that have served for this country. The rude comments by the… nurse and the different stories from all different doctors my family is getting about why he is in ICU after surgery.
The clowns scheduling appointments in Radiology are a complete joke, they can't even schedule a simple appointment correctly without transferring me to the wrong department or just hanging up on me. I've tried… scheduling a simple appointment, which they were too lazy to even call me to schedule themselves, 5 times now & can not get anyone there to just simply do their job. This place is a complete dump. And in person is not much better, most all of the staff here (receptionists & pretty much anyone sitting behind a desk) are completely unprofessional, disgusting & overall unpleasant to deal with. The doctors & nurses are not bad, but unfortunately, you have to deal with several unpleasant staff members prior to meeting with the actual doctor, making for an overall unpleasant experience.
It’s never easy to watch a loved one suffering with cancer, 😢 I would like to say a big THANK YOU to the Team here ❤️ special thanks to Amy Tyson & Colleen Lance for the support and love for my father! Ty ❤️🙏🏼
Currently we are treated worse then the discarded waste in a colostomy bag. 22 a day BECAUSE of the VA. The solution is simple. Treat us with the decency the Va staff show their toilet paper. That would be a good start… to curving that 22 number down. Waiting for over 7 years and now the bones are dead. Biden had such high approval rates because yall canceled them on us 24 hours after they were authorized. I already spilled enough blood, now yall are killing me inhumanly
Man, I can’t say enough help a brother when they’re down and out
I am more than just a little UPSET,, i call 1 va ccn they are not open until 8 am,, then i call back and get transfered to this VACCN they dont open until 830 what the heck is going on? why so freaking LATE in the… morning ,, i am disapointed and tired of the phone run around,, I am SO TIRED OF HEARING SPANISH,,I SPEAK ENGLISH,, why spanish??? IF YOU DIDNT SPEAK ENGLISH WHEN YOU JOINED THE MILITARY YOU WERE NOT ALLOWED IN,, and these people that are supposed to make the system better make it harder and harder to use,, and about suicide,, wellllllll i dont think about it until a recording brings it UP,, I am completely frustraited with this Process,, I cant even secure message because of changes made,, Over all the care at the VA is great,, But the PHONE game gets old,, and long and on hold for hours,,
ER was great. Information, He needs to work at McDonald's. No interest in veterans. He told us to pull up and go to the ER instead of just taking the wheelchair and pushing The veteran over to the ER! I never should… have a job there with his attitude.
"On May 6th, 2026, I called the Macolm VA Dental office, and pleasantly impressed by how quickly a Dental Service Representative named Don answered the phone. I've lived in Florida for 15 years , and this Dental office… has never answered that quick." "I had Ocala Dental Care on the other line, and Don was willing to explain to them how to request my Community care paperwork." "Ocala Dental told me to contact Community Care First." "It wasn't Don's job to help me connect with Community Care, but he assured me that he would notify them. "Don went well beyond his required duties. "Because of the amazing patience and help , I'm naming this my Top Dental Clinic of the Year Award." US ARMY DISABLED VETERAN, VFW LIFETIME, AMVET, DAV." SERGEANT LINDA MC KEE. Thank you, very much! DENTAL REPRESENTATIVE DON.🤴💯😃😄🤩 " "
No one seems to know how to answer a phone. I dont car what time of the day it is You can set in a waiting area and watch the employees. The phone will ring and they just keep on talking to other employees with out a… care in the world. Have been trying to schedule my husbands next PC appointment after they called and left a message for me to call back. This has been going on since 4/10
On 3/1/2026, I had a cardio version done at this VA location. From the moment I arrived I was greeted by a group of true professionals. They made me feel comfortable through the entire experience. I want to thank… everyone involved very much!
I went to the emergency room due to my dog scratching the cornea of my eye, the front staff here nice, but as I was getting evaluated the other staff seemed a bit rude and staff treated me as if I was lying for pain… medications as they said we don’t give pain meds for this prior to even looking at my eye (let’s note I have never used drugs and when hurts at the VA I always request non opioid pain relief), so I was shocked to say the least. I give that visit a 2 (do better VA)
When it comes to primary care or even your mental health provider, they don't help you but they're so busy trying to push pills on to you and then make you wait months at a time just to get some type of appointment to… help you with your medical problems. Even when you want to address something so simple, the either forget or they just pass you on to someone else where they also pass you on to another person. No one ever really wants to help you and they just kind of push you to the side. Some of the specialty doctors are great but when you really need medical help all they do is say go to the ER and then the ER tells you to follow up with your PCP patient advocate is a literal joke and your vso officer won't even acknowledge you.
My brother is a patient of your hospital on many different occasions now this last one he was released to somebody without giving the family information who they released him to. He’s not home and he’s an onset patient… with dementia this is why I did not give this hospital a good rating they don’t give you enough information. They don’t call you back. I’ve left voicemails even the social service big suck. The people Are rude and they don’t do their job correctly
Great hospital!! They treated my dad and got him back to great health!
I am grateful for everything the VA Hospital system in Gainesville Florida has done for me. Everyone I've encountered from Appointment setters to Desk Help, to Medical Personnell have been gracious, helpful, and willing… to do everything in their power to give me the best care possible. I can't thank the wonderful people there enough. PS, I forgot to mention the Pharmacy. The Pharmacist called me himself after a medical event to check up on me, and discuss my prescriptions. The Neurologist did the same, as well as the Surgical Team. Please know that I am grateful that I'm in such good care. SINCERELY DAVID GRAHAM
I went yesterday 03-11-2026 for an appointment at one of the clinics at the VA and everything went well at that particular clinic. However, I've been trying to call the dental clinic for several days and no one answer… the phone or call back. So since I was yesterday at the hospital I went to the dental clinic on the 2nd floor around 3:45pm and no one was there, it was closed. They don't have a schedule posted, I asked an employee next door and he said "if the door is locked, the office is closed". Very disappointed with this clinic.
UPDATE: I just returned to Malcolm Randall radiology department & Ms. Ashlyn the X-ray tech was amazing she comforted me during my procedure the entire time! Even though I'm a Seminole fan, I don't mind coming to the… Swamp for this V.A!! 😁 • Ms. Kayla from LABS was so sweet and efficient she took 12 tubes of my blood and even gave me a cold pack for my head afterwards. ▪︎ My new OBGYN was so thorough and committed to my success in future fertility options. She even sent me off with a juice box and heating pad after being discomforted when leaving her office!
Dr. Deronada Strange was personable, highly professional, and removed the cyst on my back with adroit and skillful surgical wisdom. The VA in Gainesville Florida has become a wonderful resource for both my wife and… myself. We are thankful.
AVOID AT ALL COST: As a traveling Veteran I’ve seen all kinds of VA facilities but this “hospital” takes things like discrimination against disabled Veterans with Service dogs to an all time low! Nearly every employee… physically recoiled at the sight of my vest wearing service dog! The quality of care is the worst, if you can get an appointment. The 10 acre parking lot is all handicap and full daily during business hours. Have fun walking a half mile or more to the basement back door entrance. I’d rather discuss my “customer experience” with someone in charge, but they refuse to respond to my calls.
Spent a total of 9 days in the hospital. Drs and nurses were nice and took great care of me. Not a fan of the endocrinologist team, but otherwise my care team was awesome.
There's Employees who some how mucked the system and are parking in the Handicapped spots where Veterans are supposed to park. I've seen at least a dozen people who were NOT physically handicapped parking in the Veteran… handicapped spaces. No wonder you're ALWAYS driving around for 30 - 45 minutes as a Veteran looking for a handicapped space when you have an appointment because Employees are parked there for 8 hours during their shift at the VA Hospital. Something needs to be done, whether it's tickets or towed away. They will learn the hard way
