Salvation Army Harbor Light System – Detroit Detox and Rehab Services

The register shows Salvation Army Harbor Light System – Detroit providing detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Detox runs under medical supervision, and the first three days carry the highest risk with alcohol and benzodiazepines. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

Combined treatment is not recorded, which is worth checking before committing. Approved medication is paired with counseling and regular review. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

Salvation Army Harbor Light System – Detroit Address, Location and Contact Information

Records give the address as 3737 Lawton Street, Detroit, Michigan, 48208. Detroit sits in Wayne County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.

I’m not a patient or anything but my husband is here & I’m wondering how anyone is supposed to FOCUS on their illness when they get 24 hour access to their own cell phones? He’s so worried about where I’m at and who I’m… with that he is literally doing nothing about his addiction lol I’ve never in my life seen a R E H A B allow constant personal phone use? You guys are making everyone’s mental health worse including the family on the outside. He can have his phone but he couldn’t have an electric fan? He can have his phone but he can’t have a vape? Like is this for real lol I don’t care how many amazing services that are offered. This man is going to come out equally as crazy and drunk as he was when he went in. Send your family elsewhere :-)

I absolutely love this place and now that I'm gone I even miss them. The majority of the employees there care about the residents. It's clean, they make sure your withdrawals are not too bad. When u 1st arrived you will… be in detox 3 days or so then go over to the residents side for 29 days. The rooms have 2 to 3 people in it with its own shower/bath. Breakfast is 7, lunch 11, dinner 4 and a snack at 8. If you're too sick to go to the dining area they will bring it to your room. Mondays and Tuesday are your long days you're in meetings from 9am to 10pm. Group meetings are mandatory every day 9-11. Church is on Sunday and Bible Study on Wednesday. They will help u get on your feet so u can survive when u get out. Oh and the men monitors are cute too, i know one resident who has started messing around with one recently. But the majority of them are not like that. It's a spiritually grounded place where God is first. Oh and you get to keep your phone and smoke whenever you want to. Let's see what else , Oh the food is good now it wasn't when I 1st got there but we complained about it at our weekly meeting and it has improved, a lot! As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best around, but I've only been to one other Christian guidance center, i caught COVID there. I was only there for 2 weeks but they never took my vitals when I was there. And Harbor Light checks them every 4 hours when you're in detox. And once you have completed everything you will get a certificate and a coin. Oh and u have to drop weekly, Oh and they also have a medical mobile unit that comes every Thursday iu need blood work or whatever done. Teally cool joint that I highly recommend

Back in 2011 this place changed my life. Actually learned a lot of important stuff. Detox and stayed there for 3 months. If I'm not mistaken it's a free program. If I'm wrong then it was definitely a low amount.… Especially when comparing other places.

Detox is tough. They make u wait 3 to 4 days before they give you suboxone. You don't get much sleep on this side. 3 hots and a cot. Much better than some other places. They let you keep your phone here, other places… take them. Food is fair depends on who's cooking that day. It's nice people here and it's clean. You can go out and smoke whenever you want to.

Another worthless salvation army program

So rude you'd think people who are working at places that are meant to help people would actually want to help people but that is not the case.

Gave 4 stars not because I've been there but because I've contacted them for some questions and they were really helpful and they do great things for people with very little money. I would've gave 5 stars but it's so… far from my house that it's impossible for me to attend. The Salvation Army helped my family some years ago when they were in need and I'll always be greatful for that. I donate to the downriver store often.

We (including my10 yr old) slept on the floor for a few nights here back in January in the waiting area. We were able to eat three times a day but staff. No handicapped accommodations which made things more difficult… for some there and no medical staff available . Grateful for not freezing to death and they gave us blankets.

I absolutely believe that they do help some people, and they did great with my divorce but when I needed help with an emergency custody situation it was different. I would email with questions to get no reply, and then… my children got sick on Halloween (as stated this is a custody situation so dad wasn't in the picture and I have no daycare or sitter) the day of our case so I had to miss court and was met with being informed that they can no longer help me. It's a shame they want to help but draw the lines at missing court because your children can't go to school and you have no sitter.
