Healthcare workers and referring professionals in New York who have worked with the facility are welcome to contribute as well.
I have always found the Center for Hearing and Communication very helpful and available. When I need to have my hearing aid checked or my own hearing tested, I can make an appointment quickly and the Center is very… friendly and thorough. I highly recommend this facility.
Really great team. I wish they had their intake form online, but it was easy to fill out before my appt. My test giver was fantastic. Really helpful and patient explanations.
I've gone to CHC since I was a child, over 20 years going now. They have great service and are very professional and skilled audiologists. I would recommend Terrence or Nicole to anyone in the NYC/NJ area to address… their hearing needs.
Simply the best! Fortunately, I was referred to the Center for Hearing & Communication after several bad experience with multiple audiologists. Can’t say enough good things about the quality of care and the staff at the… Center for Hearing & Communication.
My audio test with Susan Adams was thorough and her feedback was timely. As I have had stapendectomies in both ears she agreed that it was important to see an otolaryngologist before making a decision to proceed with a… fitting for hearing aids. She referred me to Dr. David Freidman. I felt that he was also thorough. He addressed my questions and surgical history, and explained how and why he came to the conclusion he presented (which was in agreement with Susan Adams recommendation). I am not excited about the prospect of wearing hearing aids, but my experience with the CH&C was very positive.
Grateful for a quick and informative visit. Susan was kind, patient, and answered all my questions.
Very professional and knowledgeable
I have called this organization nearly every day for two weeks and no one has answered the phone, every mailbox is full or they haven't returned my call/ email. This is supposed to be an organization recommended by city… services for support for children. They should be taken off the list.
Professional effective patient. As a nonprofit, has no interest in “pushing” hearing aid sales. Highly recommended.
Michele DiStefano is a most kind and knowledgeable audiologist. We feel lucky to have her on our team! The office itself is 'no frills' but it works. (Unfortunately the receptionist was quite nasty. But since she is not… an integral part of the care I guess she can be ignored.)
This is an arrogant organization. Speech therapy for children is mediocre and therapists act like "pseudo audiologists," pressuring families to have unnecessary appointments. Staff have the audacity to contradict your… own child's audiologist and ENT doctor. Do not recommend CHC at all. They do not work with families collaboratively and with transparency. NYC has plenty of better and more professional places. Do not go here.
As a culturally Deaf person, Gallaudet graduate, and daily ASL user, finding an audiologist who signs fluently was never a thought until I met Dominique. She has completely transformed what audiology appointments look… like for me: accessible, efficient, and genuinely healing. Dominique is living proof that the Deaf, signing world and the world of audiology can absolutely coexist. I'll be recommending her to every Deaf hearing aid user I know. If you've been looking for an audiologist who can sign fluently, look no further. She is it! Thank you so much, Dominique!
Everything went well and the audiologist provided me a very thorough and pleasant examination. Thanks!
When our son was diagnosed with hearing loss after failing his newborn hearing screen, we were scared and unsure what to do next. After running into roadblocks with NYC Early Intervention, we reached out to the Center… for Hearing and Communication—and it changed everything. CHC has deep expertise in working with infants and toddlers with hearing loss. They helped connect us with the right Early Intervention support, guided us through the process of getting hearing aids, and have provided exceptional audiology and speech therapy care for over two years. Beyond one-on-one services, their group classes for babies and toddlers—and the support they offer parents—have been invaluable. We feel incredibly cared for and lucky to be part of the CHC community.
Highly recommend the Center and Michelle DeStefano. I appreciate her professionalism and competence which are only exceeded by her kindness and calm. An excellent balance.
Every visit to the Center for Hearing has been thorough and helpful. They are excellent and responsive
Always the best service and care Thank you
I have worked with the center for years and I am also a patient. They are experts and their clinicians and services are the best in NYC. For hearing health this is the place to go!
The best lace to go to
Very pleased indeed with the reliability and attention to detail (on every front) I and my wife have experienced.
Very good but challenging to make an appointment. Requires multiple calls.
I love this place. The facility is very welcoming and clean. Everyone there is very nice and the help my child is receiving is top notch. I will definitely recommend to my friends, family and anyone else that needs this… service. Our therapist Camille is so sweet and treats my child like her own.
Nicole is excellent at what she does! She really takes the time to listen and learn what's important to me/what makes sense for my lifestyle. I will continue to come see Nicole for her expertise. Office staff are all… very nice and welcoming. Very happy with the service and highly recommend.
I am a healthcare professional and have worked with many Audiology and Hearing Centers, and I would submit that The Center for Hearing and Communication is, by far, the most comprehensive and professional entity that I… have seen. Special kudos goes to Michelle DiStefano for her evaluative and communication skills.
Truly excellent consultation with Sandra Delapenha - she was very thorough with my one-year follow up hearing test and gave me great advice on better use of the Phonak App.
Sandy, the audiologist who took care of me, was absolutely wonderful. Not only patient, reassuring, informative, knowledgable and kind, but she made the whole experience simple and easy ! I would recommend her to anyone… who finds the idea of getting hearing aids daunting. It just wasn't so with Sandy !
Nicole was so patient and kind with my 2.5-yr old daughter, very thorough, and explained everything in a way I could understand it. Thank you so much CHC!
