OnTrack – Amityville Detox and Rehab Services
Recorded services at OnTrack – Amityville are intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

They took all the actives away and left child like groups. The doctors all have attitudes but one sweet older lady. This place is more like a jail. Only good thing was the food.

I was treated pretty poorly and denied medical help while I was there. I had to feint compliance and happiness the whole time so I could get discharged. Because that place is basically a jail. It was not safe. I was… denied medical treatment for a torn ligament in my foot. In a very nasty way. I asked them to please focus on one specific person because they are threatening me constantly. Following me around. Making me feel scared everyday. Nothing. I was made to feel I was the problem. My roommate was violent and had a bleeding ulcer so bad, it was leaking from his bum. My room smelled like a septic tank for a week. I was denied a room change or having him looked at for his issue. I had a number of very poor experiences there. They really need to wipe the slate and get new staff. I am still toying with a lawsuit, since I took such excellent notes on dates, actions, and staff names. Disgusting.
Very disappointed, basically no flexibility for kids that have a harder time. All kids must adhere to all rules, even if they suffer from different things.
I WAS TRYING TO GET IN CONTACT WITH ANY MEMBER OF STAFF, I JUST EANTED TO THANK ALL THE MEDICAL STAFF OR MEMBERS THAT HELPED ME AT MY STAYED IN REHAB BETWEEN MARCH 2021 AND APRIL 2021, I WENT TO MANY REHABS AND DETOXES,… BUT AFTER I WENT TO SOUTH OAKS IT REALLY HELP ME, I’VE HAVE BEEN CLEAN FOR 4 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS TODAY, THANKS TO THIS REHAB, AND ALL THE LOVE AND GREAT CARE I RECEIVED, EVEN THE KITCHEN STAFF AND THE CLEANING STAFF TREATED ME WITH THE LOVE AND PROFESSIONALISM I NEEDED THEN, THANK YOU SO MUCH, I OWE YOU, MY LIFE CHANGED FOR GOOD, I SEND MY LOVE AND RESPECT TO YOU ALL🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️
Horrible place....the drs only care about thier paychecks....no regard for thier patients.....a dog gets better treatment at the vet.....stay away if possible....they don't care about you!!!!!
This was a top notch place!! I had nothing bad to say about this hospital! The staff was wonderful and caring and I felt safe there
No mental health hospital stay is ever truly going to be a 5 star experience. It's not like anyone really wants to have to be there. That being said, in comparison to another inpatient facility *cough* Brunswick *cough*… South Oaks is leagues better and doesn't feel like jail. I was there in the adolescent unit in 2016 and there was school time and arts and crafts as well as group therapy. Which you would think would be the bare minimum... The nurses were kind enough to let me use the phone when I needed to, to call home, and my parents were even able to bring me my favorite food one day. No idea about the adult unit, but for teens, if you need to be admitted anywhere, South Oaks is definitely one of the better options.
They told me i was faking everything i was feeling. Trash place. If i have to go to another hospital i hope it’s not this one
I've stayed 3 times in my life. Twice for psych in my teens and once for rehab in my adulthood. Long stays received academic classes, gym, ceramics/arts and crafts classes.... The second time I was there...I broke the… chains on the sides of the window, in the boxing bag room of the gym and climbed out. 3 girls followed and we were found a couple hours later by a very nice orderly. (K) There was basketball and billiards in the basement as well as all the machines you would want to work out with in another area....during my rehab stay many years later, the same orderly (K) took us to the rec building and showed me the walls they'd removed after our breakout. South oaks helps you while you're in their care. It's up to you to seek meaningful outpatient and follow up care........locked units are never fun, or nice.
I never gone here. My good friend is so called receiveing services for mental elness. My friend has been at there facility for over a month. Her mother and a few of her friends have had 1 to none communication with her.… Getting through is difficult to impossible. The staff is extreamly rude on the phone. No wonder the horrible reviews on YELP. Do not send your love ones here.. They will get lost in the system and the staff( inhuman) can care less about there patiens or their love ones... DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVE ONE HERE!!!!!
Intake is horrible. Got to pychiatric in patient facility around 9pm to check in, about 5 hours later still here. This place did very little to help my child. And after they said insurance was accepted they end up… sending an outrageous bill.
