Cayuga County CMHC – Auburn Detox and Rehab Services

The register shows Cayuga County CMHC – Auburn providing intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Day programming is scheduled, with evenings spent at home. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

Co-occurring mental health conditions are addressed alongside substance use, which is the approach the evidence supports. Ask what a typical week involves before committing, since the schedule determines whether the program is workable alongside work or family.

146 North Street, Auburn, New York, 13021 is the address held. The city lies within Cayuga County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.

Giving an extra star as I appreciate my therapist and prescriber immensely. Considering going elsewhere as the nurses are condescending and seem to never listen. I really hate it when there's a med snafu as I don't… enjoy pressing option 2 when I call in. I could not receive meds as per the pharmacy, but the nurses were convinced I was lying as an order was "put in January 15th"... . Well, today February 23rd the pharmacy is stating 0 authorization. "But it says here we did this on January 15th...". Ridiculous circles with 0 manners and 0 respect.

After trying to get ahold of the therapist leaving 3 voice messages without any call back I have come to the conclusion that they really dont want to help people if they did she would had reach out to me, It seems like… they like to keep families split apart,

My “therapist” made it clear he cared more about his needs than mine during my 30 minute intake appointment that I paid $150 for. Very unlikely to ever step foot in this place again

CCMH is a horrible place to go if you want to get help with your mental health. Not only have many of their current and former patients spoken out regarding their careless and unprofessional conduct, but other… healthcare offices have too. After many instances of them either misdiagnosing patients, or simply not caring enough to want to get to the root causes, many of their patients have had to suffer because of the incompetency and arrogance of their staff. I would never recommend this place to anyone wanting to actually get help with their mental health. From the nurses who have absolutely disgusting attitudes, or to the nurse practitioners and doctors that would rather see someone suffer than to admit that they are wrong about something. This place is not a place that remains open because of satisfied patients, but because this is where the people of the drug treatment court are forced to go to just to be in compliance with the rules. Many of the employees of CCMH are here ONLY to receive a paycheck and it really shows. I hope this review reaches every person that is considering going here for help with their mental health.

Whenever I call regarding my medications, the nurse who answers is nasty. She's rude and inconsiderate.

i’ve personally had a great experience here with the staff. everyone’s been nice especially my therapist. she’s extremely kind and i feel comfortable talking to her. i mean it really depends on who you go too and they… absolutely let you choose who you talk to and everything. they never pushed me out of my comfort zone personally.

I wish that I could give this place negative stars. I came in with my Service Dog and they completely discriminated against me. They know nothing of the laws concerning Service Dogs. They tried to say that they "had a… policy". Well, guess what? Your "policies" aren't supposed to go against state and federal laws. They'll be EXTREMELY lucky if I don't sue but I most likely will. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone. This place and the people who work there are complete trash.

My case was closed out (and I received no notification of this) after I transitioned to no longer taking medication despite the fact I repeatedly told all involved I wanted to continue talk therapy with my therapist. I… was made to fill out forms like a new client to reopen my case despite being a client for years, only to be told that I couldn't continue with my therapist because she was transitioned to a new role in the agency and had all her "medication only cases" dropped (which I was also never notified of until being told verbally- doesn't this agency notify their clients of significant changes to their care *in writing* like they're supposed to, from ethical standpoints if not legal ones?). My case file was marked as incorrectly transitioning to receiving medication from my primary care when I was really ceasing medication all together, which makes me think there exist significant mistakes in mine and potentially other clients' files. Finally, if you suspect you have ADHD as a previously undiagnosed adult they *will* refuse to test you for it and try to gaslight you into accepting treatment for anxiety instead (which, of course, does nothing if you do have ADHD or other similar difficulties). Try and seek other avenues for care, these people do not care about helping the mentally ill at all.

The people at the front desk are just rude and nasty. The doctors can’t be bothered. Absolutely terrible place.

The place is good, I am getting the help needed, though, not sure about the safety of the bathrooms. I went in and there was a male in the last stall of the female restroom. Staff was notified, and nothing was done. The… woman at the desk said she wasn't concerned (said that there are trans patients, which I am completely aware of and have no judgement). But of course, it was an extremely uncomfortable situation. I instead waited until the man left the bathroom. They should have one of those family bathrooms so this situation doesn't happen and make patients uncomfortable during their visits.

awful place. i spent 10 months trying to get my psychiatrist to take me seriously about another disorder i had on top of what i was already diagnosed with and she consistently told me it wasn’t happening or that it… wasn’t something that needed to be treated. so I got a second opinion and was prescribed something else on top of what i was already taking. at our next appointment she ripped into me about going to someone else and stopped responding to my emails so i couldn’t refill my script .

Awesome people and place, Cayuga County isn’t pumping people up, so many nice people, and before anyone else makes a bad review, they’ve got a suggestions box usually in the waiting area. Just look for it.

When they were needed the most they left me to figure it out, councelers allowed to cancle appointments the day of, its a big joke over there. Cayuga County just trying to pump drugs into people for that $$$

If you can afford it, run to the nearest private psychiatrist. The counselors were nice, but the nurse practitioner I had was terrible, along with her nurse. Absolutely no respect at all and a liar. I am so happy that… I've finally been diagnosed with what is wrong with me.

I love Dr. G and Emily are wonderful!. They both listen to what you have to say and help you with your issues. The receptionist is fantastic and very friendly. The suggestion box is right there at the window when you… check in.
