SpiritLife Inc – Penn Run Detox and Rehab Services
The provision listed at SpiritLife Inc – Penn Run is residential treatment, partial hospitalization and sober living. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.
Co-occurring mental health conditions are addressed alongside substance use, which is the approach the evidence supports. Supported housing is recorded for people continuing treatment after a more intensive stage. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

SpiritLife Inc – Penn Run Reviews and Ratings
Families searching for treatment in Penn Run often start with reviews. If you were a patient at SpiritLife Inc, or supported one, sharing how it went gives them something real to go on.
This place has taken quite a dive since two years ago. Terrible communication between staff. High level of stress among staff. I only did detox but they detoxed me for the wrong substance abuse issue due to…..… miscommunication. It’s a nice place though. Beautiful location. Decent accommodations but not for me
Louis and the team there do great work :) beautiful space is lovely! The staff is super kind as well.
Spirit life in Indiana,Pa is a very clean nice looking establishment ! Have many good things to say even though my stay was short due to some health reasons that led to me being placed in ICU Highly recommend staff was… great a most are in recovery themselves so you’ll never be judged ! Thank you Spirit life for taking such good care of me hoped to of got to know the rest of the staff better but was impressed from the little I seen. Best wishes for the future !
My loved one is there right now in detox I hope they're treating him good. I've heard a lot of good things about this facility so I hope he gets the help he needs. If I need to update this review I will.
I absolutely love this place it got me into celebrate recovery an yea its coed what do you expect life to be just one gender.... the staff is awesome went there 2018 an if I would of been there for like 60 days but I… learned about trama an my anxiety smell stick... an tapping techniques to vanish some trama an I got to make a walking stick from a tree I cut down .. an I set off the smoke alarm at kike 8 pm it was my last night an I wanted to be cool an smoke in my room... nope didn't work out ....lol
Love this place 😀
Do not send your loved ones to this place! They don't tell you on the website that this is a Co-Ed Facility. Your loved one will be in groups and in activities with the opposite gender. This is absolutely ridiculous and… outrageous! Families are being torn apart! Shame on you! Our families have already been through enough trauma and to have to go through adultery as well because you can't understand the simple concept of keeping the genders separated during their very vulnerable time of recovery is disgusting. Your loved one will go to this rehab and cheat on you and they will still come out addicted to drugs!! I absolutely do NOT recommend this place!
I was in Spirit Life 3 different times ( I know🤦🏼♀️) but I continued to go back there because the place was that awesome. Granted it was back in 2019-21 but the Adventure trak totally made the place like a resort. Its… absolutely gorgeous there. Theres a golf course (9 holes, but its fun) a lake for kayaking, pond for fishing, hiking trails, campfire coffee, a small gym and basketball court, volleyball, corn hole. Totally made to show you everything you can do to have fun and find who you are with out drugs and alcohol! So definitely go in the summer and quit because I promise you life is so worth it! I now finally have over 15 months clean and sober and work at a treatment center and those promises have all come true!
I spent 87 days at Spirit Life. This was the 1st and only time in recovery. If I would have gone to any other treatment facility ,I know that I would not have made it.I spent 40 yrs in… addiction, alcohol, marijuana, cocaine,& fetty/heroin.Spirit Life saved my life.I owe the past 23 months of my sobriety to these 3 things God,Spirit Life & to myself. They gave me the tools to work on staying clean,I turned my will over to God and prayed for Him to lift the obsession to wanna use from me and the strength to continue on this journey that God guides me on and the opportunity to try and steer ppl in the same direction. When obstacles come in your path and seems to test you,Always remember that those obstacles are your path As you get through them,You will grow stronger and be more prepared for the next ones.Thank you To Team Spirit Life .I am proud to be part of your Alumni.I have referred others to come there and I have a beautiful friend in there as I speak.I hope her time there is as rewarding as was mine. 8/15/23 was the start of my new life.
I just went through detox here and while the staff was very amiable and professional, some of the rules here are ridiculous. They essentially try to make it impossible to leave which is ridiculous because you are a… patient, not an inmate. They have a ridiculously strict dress code and will keep anything that they deem inappropriate, yet they don't warn you about the dress code when you call in. They won't even give you pajamas that are clearly only for sleeping in. They will confiscate a tank top even if you've worn it under a sweatshirt the entire time. Their unnecessary rules are more important than people's recovery. Even if it makes a person want to leave, they will demand an undershirt be taken. If you choose to sign out AMA they will not return your possessions for 72 hours, so you will not have a phone to make a call to get picked up. Again, you are a patient, not an inmate. Your recovery should be entirely up to you, not them. You are not allowed to make phone calls while in detox. This was very detrimental to my recovery as my family is my support and they likely would have been able to talk me into staying for rehab had I been able to privately speak with my husband. The staff is very kind and many of them are very caring. You'll run into a few very lazy employees who don't ever want to do anything though. Including taking you out for a smoke break when you need one in detox. I think the facility is quite nice and the area is beautiful. My bed was comfortable enough and for detox, you have a nice lounge where they bring your food and you can watch TV, play games, or relax in those hospital sleep chairs that they have for guests at the hospital. All in all, it's not a bad rehab, but it's still rehab.
Amazing rehab ! Not only did I leave my trade mark name JONASIA!!! But it was amazing helping others who were in the same life path as I was. -Ambassador
I have never been to a worse place to go to detox than this place, not only was I there sick for 6 days but the staff has no empathy for the people there. It was dirty and no connection with the staff
As a family member of someone who went here, the first 7 days of calling the nurses station to just have a phone call with the relative I was told “ we will tell them to call you in a minute “ never received any call.… Then finally after 3 days in they said that Detox patients are not allowed phone calls until they’re moved to rehab. Well first day in rehab, was told by the first nurse that the patients were doing “ group “ and would call back at 8:30pm when they were done. Well I gave it extra time and called at 9pm due to not getting a call. Then the nurse said the patients were doing Medications and that they are understaffed and it would take up until 10:30pm to get a call. Was also told then that the patients went to bed at 10:30pm so I called at 10:21 and spoke to another nurse, which was the same as the first call her name was Ashley.. she got an attitude and told me that “ there are other patients there and she can go up and tell the relative to call “ I told her I know damn well if you actually would go up and tell her I was trying to call them, the relative would come down and talk. Here we are at 10:40pm no phone call. Overall this places staff sucks for relatives. They lie every time you call. They tell you they will have the relative call. And never anything…
Great place and people .I’ll never forget my experience here.If you need help reach out to these wonderful people..
I have nothing but awesome memories about my time at Spirit Life. The staff were very approachable and easy to talk to. They were very knowledgeable about recovery. But as in any program of recovery you have to want it,… you have to really pay attention and apply yourself. They will help you on your way to a new way of life.
I was there 5 months ago. I've only been to 3 rehabs in my life but by far this was the best. The people working there are mostly recovering addicts and completely understand what we're going through. They treated me… with respect even when I was losing my mind after detox which was the easiest detox I've ever had. After detoxing craziness sets into my mind and even though I tried leaving several times the first week, they chased me down and I felt like they really cared. I was homeless and they kept me safe.i know not everyone is always satisfied with these places but overall more people have good experiences there than bad. The worst thing about the the place is the beds. If I ever have to go back I will try there first
Mike c .this place means so much too me helped me so much I've been an addict for over 20 years I'm 42 now I've been clean for 90 days my clean dates 5 3/22 I love Spirit life 6322 this is a very good place I highly… recommend it to anybody that needs help the counselors are amazing The staff's amazing
I went here for rehab and they are the best my counselor Holly help me so much yes granite I relapsed when I come home and went on heroin but now because of them I am five months clean I have my children back and I have… my own house I don’t think I would be this far without them best rehab by far I’ve been to several and none of them has helped me and got me clean like they did
Giving a one star simply because I have to in order to share. Nurse are out right IGNORANT. My family member was admitted where she was teased, laughed at, and just out right bullied. Suppose to be a place to help and… aid in recovery but your tearing clients down and making them feel awful. Even while family members are listening? I could go on and on but I’ll leave it to the state to learn and share the rest.
I have been a client at this facility twice. Once in 2018, and in September this year (2021). They have totally changed their program for rehabilitation. Now you are required to sit in meetings for 7 hours a day, 7 days… a week. No joke. In the almost month I was there, I took one nature hike and kayaked once. So if you don’t mind sitting and sharing your feelings all day, then this is your place. It’s sad because this used to be the best state facility in my opinion.
