New Beginnings – Pottsville Detox and Rehab Services

New Beginnings – Pottsville is recorded as offering intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.

The record does not show integrated provision, so confirm this if it matters. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Don't expect to have your phone call answered. Dont expect the staff to make calls to laboratories for the tests they require you to have. And Expect to wait 6 weeks or more to get your prescriptions after those tests.… Your time and life are not important to them.

My therapist is good, but they told me, my genetic testing would be completely paid for by my insurance. And it was not. So now i'm sitting with a large bill, not happy

I cannot even begin to express how phenomenal this office is. I’m honestly grateful that I didn’t look at the reviews until after my intake appointment, because I probably would have avoided the office entirely based on… what others have said, and that would have been such a mistake. I understand that people are more likely to post reviews when they’ve had a bad experience, but the feedback here is not an accurate reflection of this office at all. Every interaction I’ve had has been consistently pleasant, respectful, and professional. From the front desk staff to medical records, the nurses, therapists, and doctors. Everyone has been incredibly kind and genuinely committed to helping. I recently had to take a hiatus from work to focus on my mental health, and this office has truly been a lifesaver. They were able to get me in for treatment two months sooner than any other place I contacted. They also helped me navigate my FMLA leave and completed all the necessary paperwork without hesitation. Whenever I’ve reached out, they’ve responded quickly, compassionately, and with real care. I genuinely can’t recommend them enough. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I’m deeply grateful for the support they’ve given me.

My son has been with the program for a couple of weeks and so far we are very happy with everyone from the nurses to the receptionist the psychologist… They have all been very pleasant, helpful, caring, and supportive… during a tough time for my son. Five stars from a grateful mother.

As a mental health facility you should care more about what your patients are going through and have your paperwork and have your paperwork straight as far as medications and appointments are concerned we're counting on… you to get it together so we can have some quality of life Edit: as soon as I get a decent medication provider willing to listen to my concerns she's always out and I can't get any of my treatment goals accomplished

Do not go to this place for mental health help!!!... They are very unprofessional and did not help me one bit... I was referred to them twice.. the first time people were supposed to get back to me about appointments… and never did.. then I was scheduled for an appointment which no one ever told me about.. then the second stint with them most recently I had a terrible experience with one of their psychiatrists and the people that run the place.. I voiced my concerns to the psychiatrist Dr.Shirley French about the medication I was taking.. I felt my prescription wasnt adequate for my needs.. I'm allowed to do that because this is my mental health!! If I don't advocate for my mental health nobody else will!!.. she wouldn't give me adequate medication for my anxiety.. she also lied and made false statements that I would not try any other medications.. if she was listening to her patient's needs I spoke to her and told her I tried other medications.. she did not listen to me at all!! Also she argued with me about Gene site testing... Nobody from the office ever contacted me to go over the results from my Gene site testing.. also I told her there was medications on the gene site testing that I had tried that didn't agree with my body.. but still she argued the fact that the testing is accurate... She dropped me as a patient for trying to get better help with my medication and for me bringing up that no one ever contacted me to go over the results for my Gene site testing!! I didn't curse at her.. I wasn't disrespectful!! Nothing!! I simply was advocating for mental health!! Thank God I am not a suicidal patient or anything like that because this practice did not care about dropping me as a patient for no good reason... Also the supervisors Alissa and Lori took the doctor's side of course without knowing what actually happened.. kind of ironic.. I was calling to cancel appointment for a urine screening because I was in the middle of changing doctors.. I get a call from the supervisor Alyssa in the meantime and she said I'm harassing the staff?!?! Because I called and voiced my concerns and asked to speak to her and was trying to cancel my appointment... Apparently that's harassing??? Do not go to this mental health facility... They are very unprofessional and do not listen to the patience needs... Dr French, the supervisors Lori and Alissa, totally unprofessional and will always take each other sides even when one of them is wrong... I will be reporting this facility to the state for the way I was treated as a mental health patient in the middle of dealing with terrible anxiety... Worst facility I have ever gone to for mental health... Do not go there!!..p.s Alissa you should be ashamed of yourself for the way you called me on the phone when I'm in the middle of a cancer scare and severe anxiety and make up false accusations that I was harassing your office staff... You should be ashamed of yourself!! And you call yourself a professional?? I hope someone treats you or your family the way I was treated from your facility

Should be no stars. Do not go to this place they are terrible. I had a very short phone call with the medication department just for them to tell me I need to go do testing to see which meds will works for me and still… charged me for the full appointment. Also had bloodwork done which no one explained to me why or what the results were for. I already paid for one of my appointments and they are trying to recharge me for that same appointment plus two others so make sure to verify with receipts, bank statements, and insurance claims about what you already paid them and keep documentation on it as well as appointments you had.

The therapists are professional and friendly, however, only two stars for the front desk staff. Some are very rude or appear completely unconcerned with your situation.

I have nothing but good things to say about New Beginnings. I transferred there to join my therapist Abbey Bressler. She is attentive, caring and always there when you need her. I would have never made it through some… things without her. She supports you like a therapist should. I don't want to people well which is why I followed Abbey from another place. The staff is great I get multiple reminders through the week so I never miss.

I am very pleased with my experience with new beginnings. I get reminders of my appointments every week and my therapist abbey bressler has been the best therapist. She has helped me through many years and has been the… only therapist that has made me believe in therapy. I will continue to stay with her and new beginnings. If I could give way more stars I would.

Unfortunately, there is no option for a negative number of stars. I have "tried" to use New Beginnings for about 1 month now. In that time I met with a Functional Nurse Practitioner and she explained they'd be happy to… help me and they have experience in treating and helping those in my circumstances, THEN, this fact was directly contradicted when I asked for and received a different FNP. The new FNP stated we "Don't do "that" (Specific type of casework that the previous FNP said they do, INDEED, "do""). From the therapy sde, I had one meeting with a therapist, who I liked very much, and received a text that she is no longer working for the company 2 days later and that someone would be in touch to get me a new therapist, which hasn't happened yet. It's a dumpster fire. I don't know how else to say it, they're unorganized, hire people who probably shouldn't be in that line of work, they don't take/read the notes accurately or communicate between staff regarding the client at even the base level of "why are they here?", they have pretty obvious biases that shouldn't be introduced into therapy, they diagnose over the phone at the first meeting with minimal information and it appeared the whole process and treatment in general is crammed into less time than is necessary to help and when you combine that with the absurd level of turnover,.it's a recipe for failure. It's probably not a great idea to have to lose your therapist and restart the entire process to get the new one up to speed. They have made an already painful issue worse and wasted my time and the insurance company's money. Between the staff turnover, lack of communication, not reading the relevant information on the client, this place is a mess. Worse yet, my circumstances are time sensitive. Would never recommend it to anyone for any reason.

I think it all comes down to who your therapist is. I've been going to both locations now for almost 20 yrs.. helped me tremendously. Lauren, Alissa, and Lori .. Thank you guys for helping me keep being clean and sober 😉

They never call my daughter for appts, they call her when she's at school even though I've informed them multiple times to call after 230pm, they have let her go without her medications. Don't go here if you don't have… to. They're awful. Never again

★☆☆☆☆
Victoria Rodriguez3 years ago

Does not care for their patients. No one helped and I had no idea how bad this place was when it came to their patients until I was scrubbing my sisters blood off the walls and floors. They do not answer their phones… and never returned phone calls. My sister was out of medication for two months and no one returned her calls to have them refilled or to complete the prior authorizations that were needed. She attempted to go elsewhere but this is the only place that takes her insurance. She wanted to see her therapist and was met with the exact same outcome. I had called while my sister was bleeding out in the hospital and asked her to be discharged. Never got an answer . I called repeatedly for help and when I got that call from a BLOCKED phone number I was told that they will not discharge my sister and that if I called again they would pursue “legal ramifications “ if I didn’t stop calling. So I guess it’s my fault that I’m upset because my sister attempted to end her life because they can’t do their job. I hope everyone at that company can sleep well at night knowing about all the people who committed suicide under their care and all of the lives THEY’VE RUINED

A loved one sought treatment here and within a short time they became an overmedicated zombie whom I barely recognize. They seemed to be doing a lot better before seeking "help" from this place. The only good thing I… will say is they have more availability than other local places but I still do not recommend them.

This place is a joke! My daughter gets no call backs, therapist turnover is just unacceptable and she has gone without her medication for about 1and half years! I don’t understand how they are still allowed to practice.

This is a HORRIBLE place. The psychiatrists don't care. Everything is unorganized. They never return your calls. On numerous occasions I was either prescribed the wrong dose of my meds or forgot to fill them at all.… After my therapist quit I waited over 6 months for them to assign me a new one. Absolutely the bottom of the barrel in mental Healthcare don't waste your time
