The care is sub par at best but the billing is even worse. We had a bill on autopay for several months. Somehow it got taken off-- when we realized and tried to login to the portal, they had the birthday incorrect so we… couldn't get it. Then they sent the balance to collections without even attempting to contact us first: no paper bill, no text bill, no phone call. Just randomly getting a collections text message, and we have great credit scores might I add. They also do not offer any discounts for paying in full. No wonder the community avoids this place.

I had never been to the E.R. I had upper GI bleeding and had to go in. I was surprised how fast, detailed the care was. I was treated with respect and kindness.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the care I have received from Nurse Practitioner Brittany Taylor and my experience with MDH as a whole. Brittany Taylor has been my nurse… practitioner for over a year, and throughout that time I have repeatedly encountered issues that have left me feeling unheard and dismissed as a patient. On multiple occasions, I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously and that unnecessary barriers were placed in the way of obtaining appropriate care. One particular instance that continues to concern me involved symptoms that I believed were related to my heart or chest. Rather than pursuing further evaluation or testing, my concerns were attributed to anxiety, and psychotropic medication was suggested. While anxiety can certainly cause physical symptoms, I left that appointment feeling as though my concerns had been dismissed without adequate investigation. Most recently, I attempted to schedule an appointment and request routine bloodwork, including glucose testing, due to a family history of diabetes and the fact that I have not been feeling well for approximately two weeks. I was informed that Brittany Taylor would not be available until August. Understanding scheduling limitations, I politely requested whether bloodwork and glucose testing could be ordered in the meantime so that potential issues could be identified sooner. After following up with the office, I was informed that Brittany Taylor would not authorize the requested testing and that I would need to wait until August for any evaluation. I find this response unacceptable. Patients with ongoing symptoms and a family history of relevant medical conditions should not be expected to wait months for even basic diagnostic testing without consideration of their circumstances. This experience has significantly diminished my confidence in both Brittany Taylor's judgment and your practice's commitment to patient care. Healthcare providers should work collaboratively with patients, listen to their concerns, and exercise reasonable discretion when symptoms warrant further evaluation. As a result of these repeated experiences, I will be seeking medical care elsewhere. I believe patients deserve timely access to care, thoughtful consideration of their concerns, and providers who are willing to investigate symptoms rather than dismiss them. I hope this complaint is taken seriously and reviewed by the appropriate supervisory personnel so that future patients do not encounter.

I do not recommend their OB people, my last pregnancy I had a feeling something was off and I told them several times and they just blew me off till I called them and told them there was blood…I ended up miscarrying. I… am pregnant again and was going to try to give them another shot, got my labs done at Graham, found out my progesterone is low and while there I asked about if there was something they could give me to try and raise it, the OB I saw said that she would love to meet the person who will consider this pregnancy valuable and told me to just let nature take its course that there was nothing she could do very rudely. I talked to the people at Graham who took my labs and they gave me the pill to try and raise my progesterone and not let nature take its course. I was last there in December in 2025, when the OB came in she said it was first time there with them and I had to correct her that I was here back in December and she rudely said that she did not see that. Just overall both my experiences with them were god aweful horrible

Was not impressed with the ER. First , when I asked the admin lady for an estimate of service , they told me they could not do that. Which is completely false and illegal. The level of service in the er was a joke.… You’d have better care and service in a 3rd world country than this place. Would rather bleed out on streets than return to this facility

I would absolutely give 0 stars. Took my wife in there Monday night, she couldn't breathe, and told you about the pains she was having. Y'all sent her home after a nebulizer treatment and said it was a "touch of the… stomach bug". SHE HAS PNEUMONIA!!!! Y'all said all her scans were clear, took her straight to blessings in Quincy after leaving MDH cause something was wrong. Quincy staff even said there's no way her scans were clear. Her white blood cell count was over twice what the normal is. They are the ones who treated her with respect and dignity. They didn't make her feel like it was all in her head, or tell her "it's a touch of the stomach bug, get some otc antacids and you'll be fine". This "hospital" is 1000% neglectful, and their staff all seems bottom of the barrel and uneducated for the positions they hold. If macomb wasn't such a small town I swear y'all would've been shut down a long time ago. You're just the "only option" so unfortunately I'm sure a lot of people are not receiving the care they deserve. I am absolutely appalled at the level of service mdh "provides". This hospital is nothing but a joke. If you care about your loved one's health and safety, DO NOT bring them to MDH

This place is a joke sat in the ER waiting room with my wife and three kids for over 3 hours watching a ton of people get seen before my wife when she was there before hand. The women at front desk were unprofessional… when it came to my wife would look at her while she was hurting between her upper back and stomachs pains after she said she is worried about her kidneys and has issues due not having her gallbladder anymore would not recommend this place to anyone go to rushville or Quincy

It was between 3&4am on Sunday 1-4-26, I went to McDonough District Hospital, Macomb IL. After arriving the nurse took me to the back to be seen by a doctor. Doctor seen me and prescribed medicine for kidney stones.… Medication was sent to CVS, I could not pick up two medications due to doctor license not being active (expired). Returned back to the McDonough District Hospital on Wednesday for the same issue but staff discriminated by allowing others Caucasian to go ahead of me after walking in behind me and forced me to wait in the lobby area in pain. I asked for the disclosure form I signed and the administrator said, "it was thrown away by her colleague!" So, I was not able to get the signed disclosure document for care. I been in the lobby area for five hours in pain while the allowed the whites go before me when I was there before them. I never knew a hospital would allow their staff to discriminate against other race. Macomb, IL Also, Why is a doctor seeing patients and his licence is expired?

The only reason I ended up here was because I was told if I didn't go I might die. I did not want to go. I'm a horrible patient. I had a kind of bad experience in the ER. Had someone "search" for a vein until I yelled… "take it out!" Among other things. I was in ER for 4-5 hours. Over the next 72 hours I encountered so many people I could not keep track of them. All of them went above and beyond to care for me. They were prompt when I hit the call button. They fed me whatever I wanted. I've never had dessert with breakfast, lunch and dinner. The kitchen people were amazing. It never took longer than a few minutes for someone to come to my room for any reason. I laughed. I cried. I was horrible. I was funny. People treated me with respect, concern, empathy, sympathy and tolerance. My doctor was amazing. My night nurse was my best friend for two very long nights. I complained. I apologized for complaining. They saved my life. So, 5 stars. I had a very bad opinion of MDH when I first went in. By the time I got out 72 hours later I had spent time and been waited on by some of the kindest, most helpful and caring people I have ever met. I'm alive. I have follow up treatment. I will have to follow some rules I don't want to follow. My doctor looked me in the eye and said "This is curable." And asked me to repeat what she said. This is curable. I have more tests to be done and some inconveniences that I don't want to do. But I will. Because between everyone there they all made me feel like I would get through this. They saved my life. They listened to me for hours about my life and my worries. They shared with me their personal stories. It wasn't perfect. I ate more than I have ever eaten in my life, lol. So many people that I will never see again. I won't remember all their names. I will remember some. I will remember how they all cared for me. They saved my life. So, 5 stars.

Sat in the ER waiting room for 2 hours(in the parking lot now) waiting to be seen for a serious infection, and stabbing migraine that is making me want to pass out. I tell the people at the desk that it is getting… worse, and I get told I have to wait. I literally only wanted an antibiotic and some ibuprofen. Since I have been waiting, 3 people have come and left. One with a cough, the others looking like they wanted a fix. Ridiculous! I didn't need a room, I told them when I went in I only needed to get an antibiotic, but still sat.
