I will never go here again. I fell in my room and it took forever to get me off the floor. Was then given a ct and was on a back board and it was pulling my hair when the were trying to move me. This happened 2 more… times. They were not listening to me. The next day a nurse was changing the beding, after my fall I was bound to the bed. She was changing it with me on top like they are trained to do but the nurse left me on my side telling me that she wouldn't finish until I took my medicine. I let a cus word out and she started yelling at me. I could ho on and on how badly I was treated. I was definitely no heard. No one was listening to me. What a shame. All nurses there need to be retrained!
Radiology department technician Brittany O can make any child feel great during MRI. Reception guys Albert and Lorraine were friendly and even at 10:30 pm we left, they were smiling and wishing all the best.
They don't accommodate their patients! Lates appointment to even see a nurse practitioner is 2³⁰pm so I would need to work a half day in order to make an appointment. I guess I need to go elsewhere. Now I see why the… reviews are so bad. I use to love it when it was actually Central Dupage Hospital.
I am updating this hospital have not been here in 2 years . My husband came to hospital because our drs nurse highly recommended he go . 3.5 hrs waiting they would not help him the compassion is zero !!! I watched 3… people leave who looked like they needed medical attention and my husband wants to leave as well . Dr wanted him checked for vascular issues in his head . This could be serious and this hospital ED acts like nothing is important. That’s in sane . What will it take …. Patients dying because they leave because of the wait time. Please anyone who needs medical attention do not come here. Act like your like depends on it . Please if you are concerned worried scared about your health do NOT go to this hospital. I went to this horrible Hospital because of chest pain and was told by urgent care to go . After waiting over 1.5 hrs I decided to leave . When I got home I received a email stating I got test results . I looked at my chart only to see I had a blood test result . The thing is I was never seen by any doctor at this horrible hospital and NOBODY ever took any blood from me . So I got someone else’s blood work in my chart Apparently they had my name with stickers on it when I did register with the ER . I did go to Edwards Hospital and had perfect care everyone was incredible and professional at Edwards Hospital. Also they did not put in someone else’s tests in my chart I only got my test results . So please please do not go to CDH Hospital
Terrible wait in the ER waited over 8 hours before seeing someone at the Winfield location. Went in at 1:00 pm via ambulance checked out at 1:30 am. Hope you don’t have a major emergency and get sent here. I was sent by… the urgent care facility which I went to first and they were useless. Very disappointed in this hospital.
Absolutely the worst run hospitol in illinois wait 4-6 hrs to get a room then wait hours in the room
If I could give this hospital negative stars, I would. My elderly father was brought to the ER with serious breathing issues and waited more than six hours before being seen. He was sent home, only to be rushed back by… ambulance the following day. After arriving by ambulance, he was placed in a wheelchair and sent back to the waiting room for another three hours. He arrived without clothing, and instead of being given a hospital gown, he was handed only a blanket to cover his lap. No elderly patient—especially one struggling to breathe—should be treated with such a lack of dignity, compassion, and urgency. It is shameful that a hospital promoted as “elite” failed to show even basic empathy and respect for a vulnerable patient. Just wanted to add that the nurses & doctors have been amazing. Most of the staff is great. What appears to be the issue is the behind the scene decision makers.
I will say that the workers are absolutely fantastic and they deserve the recognition that is deserved. They adapt, overcome and prosper through challenging times even when met with an adversary that will challenge a… staff member or team. Thank you Nex for making my visit comfortable, very respectful and also very detailing as to why I was getting bloodwork done when I was confused as to what needed to be done and when the doctor ordered it. It was a very busy day and even though there was a long line of people in the waiting area and leading to the blood drawing area you still did my bloodwork and took the time to explain everything to me.
I ended at the emergency room on a Sunday morning with a unbelicle cord region area pain. This issue had previously occurred in March. I did not think the procedure was done correctly. I ended in the ER again same… issue. I was in the ER for over 8 hours.Ct scan was performed and the a doctor came in and said there was a pus filled pocket in the back of my cord and had to drain. She numbed the area and did an incision but stopped and said she had to check through ultrasound where exactly it was sitting. So she cut the area with out knowing exactly where before hand. She then asked to sit tight she had to go get another doctor to look at this with her and left me cut open without properly covering the incision and was gone for more than one hour. Upon returning with another doctor. Another incision was done while the numbness was gone. Yes I felt the cut and it was a horrible experience. Then one doctor left and the other just said. Oh you know what there is nothing we can do. Just go see your primary and see what can be done for you. She walked out leaving me with open incision. I left the hospital in worst pain then when I walked in. My experience was horrible and traumatic.
Insane emergency room wait time. Very understaffed, Nurses who check you in blur out all of your information for everyone to hear. Half of the rooms in er were empty when I was taken back to have blood drawn while I… wait for a room ? People standing around because there is no room to sit. Do your self a favor and go elsewhere. Have been waiting for 4 hours and got told it can be another 3-4 hours.
The Doctors & Nurses here saved my Son’s Life. I’m eternally grateful for these kind and caring people.
My mom was hospitalized for 6 days. The nurses and CNA’s were slow to addressing call lights. I felt as though we had to tell them what to do. Her urine output was brown and we had to address that and say we think she’s… dehydrated. We had to ask for her to be put in the recliner and once they put her in the recliner they left her there for 8 hours. Nobody informed me of what was going on. Doctor called me on day one only and after that I never heard from anyone. Worst experience ever.
Staff and Hospital stay were great. Financial assistance service is horrendous. My family's request has been processing for over 2 months. Apparently, the financial assistance team only meets twice a month (every other… Thursday). And after they met, they hadn't reviewed our request yet since there is such a high number... Which in that case, why don't they review cases more frequently? An additional stress on top of our medical emergencies...
By far the worst experience I have ever had at ED. Wife sat in pain with a double wrist break in the ED waiting room for 7 hours before seeing a doctor. Front staff desk were rude and they were completely overwhelmed.… Will NEVER go there again regardless of insurance implications. If there was a lower rating of one star I’d give it.
The care at Central DuPage Hospital’s Emergency Room was completely unacceptable. While they took basic vitals (pulse and blood pressure), they never checked my blood sugar. I was left stranded in a corner in a… wheelchair and was so completely ignored that I had to call the main hospital operator on my phone just to get assistance to the bathroom. The waiting area was crowded like cattle and staff were dismissive. Realizing I was unsafe, I left for another ER. The second hospital immediately checked my blood sugar in triage and discovered it was dangerously low. Central DuPage completely missed a basic, high-risk issue because they rushed through triage and ignored a patient stuck in a wheelchair. I will NEVER set foot in this facility again.
NM has a couple pros- ability to see test results online fairly quickly, many suburban facilities/medical groups, and many imaging facilities to choose from as well. However, as a patient with multiple medical needs,… there are several frustrating issues that could be improved upon- 1st- NO AI answering phones- I believe most of your patients are very disinterested in having our voices recorded for God knows what purpose, and we know how UNSAFE our info actually is after endless data breaches in all medical health systems. You don't have the right to record our voice, that is not acceptable! It is bad enough you have hundreds of employees asking for all our personal info every time we call in. Also, unacceptable! Our full birth date should never be asked by a scheduling person, and certainly should not be asked verbally in waiting areas for all within earshot to hear! Find a way to verify without asking for full birth date on phones, and maybe only verify on paper in waiting areas/reception! 2nd- you don't actually have to ask 20-25 questions every time we set up a scan. These questions can be answered when coming in for the scan on a form(the old way is perfectly fine, it takes WAY too much phone time just to schedule an apt plus these ppl on phones should not have access to that much medical info about us!) Additionally, if just rescheduling a scan, we should not have to go through ALL of the same questions AGAIN! Have a system that transfers the answers from the initial scheduling! This should be an easy fix! Very annoying to have to wait 10-30 mins on hold, then another 15-20 mins on phone with a scheduler(who by the way I question if they work from home-how safe is my information!?!?!?) & answering the SAME 20 questions over and over every time we need to set up a scan! BEST option-have ALL scans & Dr visit scheduling avail on the MyChart(you keep saying on your ads that we can, but most of the time we actually can't schedule online, it is only rarely an option for scans or specialist apts!) That is the best & most data safe/protected way to schedule and get care! Lastly, we do Not want Ai running radiology reports, we want trained radiologists that will also take the time to create a report that is THOROUGH and makes you feel they actually looked at your images for more than 2 minutes. For the price of scans you charge, your go-to & basic "no gross abnormalities" report is not acceptable. It only says you have not taken the time necessary to thoroughly review images and gets you off the hook if smaller irregularities or lesions are missed. NOT ok! Hire more trained radiologist that are capable of assessing all irregularities!
Horrible experience in the ER, avoid if possible.
I had my tests done here and was treated for the flu. The doctors here are simply wonderful. I'd also like to thank Dr. Edik for his kindness.
This was a beyond disappointing visit for my husband. He came to get detoxed from drinking the first couple nurses were nice but the nurse he had one day made him so anxious that he wanted to leave and now he’s drinking… again because of how nasty this nurse was. Beyond unprofessional and no compassion. This is a hospital they should be encouraging about trying better himself. The security is too strict and the cops treat you like you did something wrong when you’re there for your person. When my husband finally wanted to leave because of the nasty treatment the nurse ripped the iv out of his arm and made a comment about him leaving to the whole staff and said “ HES FINALLY LEAVING” I’m beyond disappointed. We came here for help and the one day I wasn’t there for my husband he was mistreated and was treated like a prisoner. This is a hospital where doctors are suppose to help you and be positive about it. I’ve never had an experience like this here ever. I only went here because I had good experiences here before and I won’t be coming here again after this.
If you need to get through on telephone, don’t even try or cell phone. The machines are often times busted and you can’t get through to a real person so good luck. Customer service is nonexistent.
If I could rate it lower I would. ER is a joke. Not even a good first aid station. Arrived at 4AM to treat outpatient surgery pain. Didn't get into a room till 9:45!!!!. Why? Only had a PA available and couldn't treat… the issue till a "Doctor" came in at 9. Of course they couldn't tell us that till 9 . We could have gone to a real ER and been treated.
Wait times are ridiculous! I was there a few months for migraine. In the waiting room for 4 hours and then spent maybe 45 minutes in the exam room. (Had a great Dr and Nurse and no complaints from back in the exam… room). Went again last night for my daughter who was double over in pain…. After 2 hours of waiting they grabbed her to draw some blood and then sent her back to the waiting room. Told her it would be another 2-3 before she would be seen by a doctor! We left! How can you leave people sitting there for hours and hours waiting on treatment? I just don’t understand how such a big hospital can do so poorly with their wait times! Absolutely ridiculous!! Unacceptable Northwestern Medicine! Do Better!!!
