NEFA LLC – Salt Lake City

Watching my husband’s experience with Kathy has disgusted me. She is rude and awful at communicating while staying calm. After seeing other reviews, it’s clear she is racist and disrespectful to anyone that calls. My… husband has only been kind to this establishment while giving them all the money we have, the least Kathy could do is stay calm and treat people with kindness. If you have the choice, stay away from this place. I hope they close soon, or remove Kathy from the phones she is so unprofessional and cranky!!

My experience with NEFA was terrible! I was in Layton court for a DV charge. NEFA along with other companies show up to these court hearings to prey on vulnerable individuals. They informed me that they had a sliding… fee scale. After my assessment they told me that there was never a sliding fee scale. Kathy in particular was listening from a different room on what was supposed to be a private conversation between my therapist and I. She came in and threatened to tell my then probation officer that I was being uncooperative. Threatening clients in a clinical setting isn't just bad practice, it's a form of extortion. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! P.S. They didn't even spell my last name right in their response. That encapsulates how much they "care".

At first I didn't think I was going to like doin any of this stuff.. Turns out I was wrong. It was actually enjoyable and informative and gave me a lot of different insights. Which I like.. Anyways Kathy and Jason are… the perfect people for this kind of work they do care about the people that come threw here. As long as you're willing to work with them they'll work with you. I just wanted to mention this. Thanks guys

People please don’t come here all they care about is money money money they don’t care about their clients and their well-being. If you do not have the funds to pay they will threaten you by telling you we’re taking you… back to court and you’re going to jail. Also Cathy the owner is really racist at first when you meet her she’s really nice then after you sign all your paperwork and enrolled she will make inappropriate racial comments. If you want a good treatment place go to 1st Step house.

I am not a fan of probation but if you have a choice this is your best option. NEFA communicates well and is empathetic to the people they help.

I was sent here for probation expecting the worst. But ended up getting someone who probably saved my life. I almost ended things but Kathy stepped up, offered support and caring. She always answers her phone and you… can open up and be honest. It was the right place for me. NEFA cares about you and wants to help you succeed. Thank you, Kathy!

Very friendly staff that does so much to help their clientele. I never felt like I was just another number so I'm very glad I chose NEFA. It's a very scary process to go through so it was nice to have such great… guidance and no judgement from them. They were on my side from start to finish. Thanks NEFA! I highly recommend to anyone that finds themselves in a tough spot.

i had the most rough long going time doing probation and the things i needed, i wouldn’t have got through it or finished it with out kathy’s help, and making sure i got my stuff done! thank you ❤️

This is the most unprofessional environment I have ever been exposed to! It’s unfortunate to know that privacy is not a necessity in the two women’s eyes at the clear field location. My privacy was broken along with my… boyfriends who is currently involved in the horrendous environment there. The women there should be professional business women who don’t act like there teenagers still. What’s even worse is I have to write multiple written statements to the court and have extra dates because of this! I would never never ever suggest going here unless you have a lawyer every step of the way. Another thing please don’t respond unless you can physically respond professionally. Like I was to you the first time!

I am quite taken back by the comments and reviews posted before mine. I feel quite the opposite. My guess is that these participants did not attempt to take advantage of what this program actually does have to offer.… First of all, NEFA IS extremely reasonable in their fees, anyone shopping around would quickly find that to be true. Any place you go with a bad attitude or upset that you have to be at a class generally will get out of it what they put into it and if you hold onto your anger or just bide your time, no place will be good enough. I begin the classes feeling quite defiant and defending my position and minimizing the part I had in the crime. But then I realized that would be a big waste of time and began participating and taking advantage of some of the great options NEFA DOES offer. Kathy, the owner is a perfect example of tough love, she’s tough, but she loves & cares a lot, I’ve seen it several times. Kathy our instructor, was insightful and was great at connecting with and caring about each class member. Things were always on a positive level and off for the sound advice on being sober. I have nothing but positive things to say and would easily recommend this place as a place that does want you to succeed 👍🏼👍🏼

The worst place ive ever seen I dont even know how this place is LEGAL? They are there to steal your money and that's it. Truly . Im not exaggerating at all. I found a place cheaper than this place and they called me… told me i still had to pay them or they would tell the courts that I didnt go. Thats full on BLACK MAIL!!!! DONT GO THERE!!!
