DUI and DWI Programs in Utah

Utah uses a single DUI education course statewide, PRIME For Life, and any agency teaching it must also hold a state license to provide substance use treatment. A court can send a person to that course, to a clinical assessment, or to treatment such as outpatient or residential care. The legal requirement and the clinical recommendation are separate steps.

Listings for Utah DUI and DWI referrals draw on government treatment registers, state licensing records, accreditor listings and information the providers send in themselves. Program hours, fees and formats can change, so call before relying on any detail. About four in five listed Utah programs sit in towns, with Murray and Orem appearing most often.

Common questions about DUI and DWI Programs

Answered from what is listed here.

Which Utah cities have DUI programs?

Most commonly, Utah's DUI and DWI program listings gather in Murray, then Orem, Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake and Centerfield. Provo, Roy and Salt Lake City are the larger cities nearby. Intake staff can say whether a program provides DUI education, assessment or treatment, and how court paperwork is handled.

Rehab Centers in Murray, Salt Lake Cityhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/utah/salt-lake-city/murray-salt-lake-city/
Is a DUI program covered by Utah Medicaid?

More often than not, listed DUI and DWI programs in Utah record accepting Utah Medicaid. Outpatient substance use disorder services generally run through county-based Prepaid Mental Health Plans such as Davis Behavioral Health Services or Southwest Behavioral Health Center, while Wasatch County uses fee-for-service. The plan a member is enrolled in determines that coverage.

Rehab Centers in Utah That Accept Utah Medicaidhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/utah/utah-medicaid/
Are there DUI programs near the mountains in Utah?

Most of the DUI and DWI programs in Utah sit within 25 miles of mountains, and the median distance to the nearest mountains is about 12.8 miles, measured from the location of each individual listed facility.

The most-named mountains near these programs are the Traverse Mountains, the Sessions Mountains and the Lake Mountains, a detail that matters mainly to people weighing travel and location.

Rehab Centers Near Mountainshttps://rehabseekers.com/attractions/mountains/

What DUI or DWI program does Utah require, and which agencies are involved?

Utah requires PRIME For Life, the only DUI education curriculum the state allows, run as a 16-hour course spread over at least two days. The court order or license conditions in your case say which steps you must complete, which may include an assessment and treatment as well as the course.

Agencies that want to teach it apply through the state office that oversees addiction and mental health services within the Utah Department of Health and Human Services. Each provider agency must also hold a license to provide substance use disorder treatment from the department’s Office of Licensing, and every instructor must work for one of those agencies.

A DUI assessment is a clinical interview about drinking and drug use, and the clinician’s recommendation shows the court whether the class is enough or whether treatment should follow. Any treatment that follows might be outpatient or intensive outpatient care, a residential stay or a prescribed medication.
