Central Utah Counseling Center – Ephraim Reviews and Ratings
Reviews of Central Utah Counseling Center in Ephraim from patients, loved ones and referring professionals are collected in this section, together with reviews gathered from around the web.
I absolutely love this place! Ruth is the best at caring for her clients. Dane Thurston is a fantastic person. He cares more about the person and isn't a pill pusher. He wants what's best for the individual and work on… making sure that you have what you need. Even if it is just someone to talk to. I have nothing but respect for everyone and have been treated with respect as well! Thank you for being such a caring and wonderful place. I have been going here for over 4 years and won't go anywhere where else!
Should have done this years ago. Reading the reviews nothing has changed. You can do better. Sometimes no help is better than bad help.
My experience with Central Utah Counseling has been extremely difficult, and over the years I have heard similar concerns from other patients as well. In my opinion, the center seems to rely heavily on diagnosing… conditions and increasing medications rather than focusing on helping people build the foundation needed to recover and move forward with healthier lives. Mental health care should involve careful evaluation, multiple perspectives, and thorough testing before diagnoses are made. From what I’ve seen, many patients feel that diagnoses can happen too quickly and that medication adjustments become the main focus of treatment rather than addressing deeper lifestyle factors that contribute to long-term improvement. Several people I’ve spoken with feel uncomfortable raising concerns about their treatment plans or medication levels being to high or unbearable. Some have struggled with side effects that affect physical health, confidence, and overall well-being. These are serious issues that deserve thoughtful attention and balanced care. Many individuals seeking help would benefit from stronger support with things like sleep habits, organization, self-care, healthy routines, and building confidence and independence. These are powerful tools that can help people regain stability and improve their lives over time. I believe the goal of treatment should be helping people grow stronger and eventually move forward with their lives, not leaving them feeling stuck in a cycle of treatment without real progress. I hope Central Utah Counseling takes feedback like this seriously and continues working toward a more balanced approach that truly supports people in rebuilding their lives.
Lisa is a fantastic doctor who cares about her patients. She breathes optimism yet truth to her patients she also works with the patients listening to all symptoms before making decisions and also collaborating with the… patient and or their caregivers. Schizophrenia is a hard disease bipolar schizoaffective is even harder and Lisa makes a meaningful lfe for these patients possible.
I was nervous to go here because of the reviews. But once I did, I did NOT regret it. The ladies at the desk were super nice and patient when the need for rescheduling or anything else arose. The counselor I see is… awesome and not judgemental which is very important when in this industry and has been hard to find in the medical field in Utah not being an LDS member. Give them a chance. They have more than one counselor if the first doesn't work. I've also got my son into counseling here and I think he will do very well.
Dropped the ball when given heads up regarding a schizophrenic. NOT cable of handling mental health patients of serious nature. Lousy care, lousy results.
My daughter called for help and expressed her issue she had there before and the receptionist chuckled at her. Not cool at all! No wonder my granddaughter refused to go back after going a few times. People would rather… feel respect especially if they need to express any issues.
I had two of my children seen there for several months. Recovery was not on a slow, we need money basis like I've felt at other clinics. Through the years I've had one of my 10 children go to 6 different clinics for one… thing or another while dealing with death, divorce, blending family and other things and our experiences here were top of the centers.
This place is the only mental health clinic in my sisters vicinity that takes her insurance. She doesn't have a car so even though she tried everything she couldn't find a ride to meet in person. The Dr wouldn't do a… telemed appointment or talk to my sis over the phone and she can't get her meds until the Dr refills her prescription. So now my anxiety ridden depressed sister has been without her meds because the Dr won't take a phone call. Idk if the Dr thinks an in person appointment will mean that my sis suddenly won't need her antidepressants but this is completely unprofessional!
If I could give zero stars I would. This place is a straight up joke. If you require ANY sort of documentation for anything whatsoever, you WILL be met with unprofessionalism and push back everytime. They are fine when… they are charging your insurance or taking money from you on their terms, but when you require something in return... good luck. This seems to be the only place in Sanpete County that takes Medicaid, but I am here to tell you that there ARE other options. There is a grant from the county that will cover your therapy costs with other very qualified therapists. Talk to your family doctor about it, or give Diana Robbins or Rachel Crandall a call. They WILL work with you to ensure you get the help that you need at little to NO cost. While Central Utah Counseling Center WILL cost you more than just $. STAY FAR AWAY!!! I am here to tell you that there is REAL help out there, and this counseling center IS NOT it.
They don’t care about people or individuals, just money.
This place is awful! I made an appointment for my daughter 2 weeks in advance, they wait until the day of to say they can’t see her and tell me to take her elsewhere! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I would never recommend this… place!
Loved my counselor Stephanie
They don't care about you they only care about charging your insurance to make them money they are rude to their clients and act like they care about you but they don't honestly the worst counseling center i wouldn't… recommend anyone to go here.
They are rude to you when you don't share the same religion and when you ask for a new therapist they make you see the one that was rude just to get a referral to see a different therapist I wish there was other people… I could see in Sanpete.
Great staff!!
