About Community Care – Bangor
Community Care operates from 40 Summer Street in Bangor. The site sits in Penobscot County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Brewer, Hampden and Orono. Maine draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Outpatient care is delivered here. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Care offered spans more than one level, which means someone can move between them without changing provider.

Treatment Services at Community Care
Outpatient care runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Ask what happens at the end of the program as well as the beginning, since that is where plans usually thin out. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Community Care Address, Location and Contact Information
The address is 40 Summer Street, Bangor, ME 04401, in Penobscot County. The catchment reaches Brewer, Hampden and Orono. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.
Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Opening hours shift with staffing, and an evening slot one month may not exist the next. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

Community Care Reviews and Ratings
Patient reviews of Community Care cover ground that official records leave out, from the admissions call to aftercare planning. Read them in this section alongside reviews gathered from around the web.
Waste of space. They won't consider anyone outside of 30 miles for services! Apparently, they don't understand the structure of Maine very well. Services don't exist in rural Maine, which is what most of the state is.
They treat the parents of children like animals. They have many new supervisors that are to young and enjoy power and control. Told today while we were there early and the child was there also that we needed to wait… outside for 15 min until 2 pm because that's when our visit starts. But they were in playing games with our daughter while we had tobwait outside for 8 min until the new district area supervisor named Jessica said oh you can cone in and wait inside. Then told she was also going to sit in with the visit. Sad place and they won't help the parents of the children they help foster placement more then the bio parents.
Helpful and friendly staff, case management, employment specialist, convenient location.
Community Care has been with us from the beginning of our ten years and counting providing therapeutic foster care here in Maine! We have been in over our head so many times, and the team at Care has always been there!… Great support and clinical supervision, and the Case Managers we have had to manage us and our home have been great fits (Kevin and Linda!).
They’re always there if you need a helping hand
