About Counseling Connection – Charleston
Counseling Connection operates from 1021 Quarrier Street in Charleston. The site sits in Kanawha County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Coal Fork, Danville and Malden. West Virginia draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Outpatient care is delivered here, alongside telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Treatment Services at Counseling Connection
Outpatient care runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

This place is awesome ! Very nice people and flexible appointment times!
Wonderful group of therapist and a great place to come.
I started seeing Tabby this past spring when I was in a place of quiet confusion. I wasn’t depressed in the classic sense, but I couldn’t make sense of what was happening inside me. I already knew I carried PTSD and… ADHD, and I had long identified as neurodivergent. Those labels explained some of the daily friction, but they never fully accounted for how exhausting and isolating ordinary life felt. Social interactions often left me drained or confused. Emotions seemed to arrive at the wrong volume or at the wrong time. I spent years feeling like I was watching everyone else live by a rulebook I had never been given, and the constant sense that something was “off” made me question my own sanity more than once. Working with Tabby changed that. From the beginning she created a space where I could bring the full, messy picture without having to perform or edit myself. She listened carefully, asked questions that actually landed, and never rushed to force a tidy diagnosis or a quick fix. Session after session we kept circling the same patterns—how I process information, how I experience relationships, why certain environments overwhelm me while others feel manageable—and slowly the pieces started locking into place. What had always felt like personal failure or random emotional chaos began to look like a coherent neurotype. It was during this work that the possibility of high-functioning autism came into focus. That realization was not dramatic or sudden; it was the quiet relief of finally having language that fit. I had spent most of my life feeling slightly alien in rooms full of people who seemed to navigate social cues, unspoken expectations, and emotional reciprocity with ease. I could mask well enough to get by, but the effort was constant and the cost was high. Talking through those experiences with Tabby helped me stop treating my own mind as broken and start treating it as different. She helped me name the sensory and social differences that had been there all along, and she helped me see that the difficulty I had relating to others was not a character flaw. That shift alone has been life-altering. The work has not been about “fixing” me. It has been about understanding. I have learned practical ways to manage the intensity of everyday life, to recognize when I am approaching overload, and to give myself permission to step back instead of forcing myself through situations that leave me depleted. I am still learning—self-discovery does not arrive fully formed in a handful of sessions—but the foundation feels solid for the first time. The puzzles that used to feel scattered and contradictory now form a picture I can work with. Tabby’s approach is steady, thoughtful, and free of judgment. She does not talk down to clients or hide behind jargon. She meets you where you are and stays with you while the understanding develops at its own pace. That combination of clinical skill and genuine human presence is rare, and it made the difference between another series of appointments that went nowhere and a process that actually clarified years of confusion. If you are someone who has always felt a step out of sync with the world, who carries PTSD or ADHD or both and still senses there is more to the story, I cannot recommend Tabby highly enough. The work is not always easy, but it has been honest, respectful, and genuinely useful. I am grateful I found her when I did. The clarity I have now is something I did not know was possible before we started, and I am still building on it every week.
Very nice place. Staff is very friendly
Great customer service always kind, friendly, prompt and establishment is clean and inviting.
They helped me through a lot of personal issues, and am so much better for it. Never thought I would be where I am today. Thank you for all of your help.
I’ve been bringing my teenager here for over a year. They really love their clients and always do their best.
Staff is GREAT!!!!! Treat you like a human and really care for your well-being! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I've had an amazing experience with this office. The staff is super friendly and helpful. My kids love their therapists.
I have had all three of my granddaughters here and it has been a good experience. The girl at the desk is so kind and sweet. Her name is Sydney! Always smiling. And very helpful. I have recommended the counciling… connection several times.
I’ve had a great experience here. They really listen to help find the person that best fits you, like if you prefer a male or female therapist. My therapist helped create a safe space where I’m finally able to express… an opinion and feel heard without being judged. My therapist challenges my thinking in a way that gives me a fresh perspective. Having that support has honestly given me more confidence in my life.
Great place to come for counseling!
The therapist are very helpful and they give great advice!!!!!
I can't say enough positive things about FCC. Our therapist here is amazing, the receptionist is warm and welcoming, and they're great at working around difficult schedules.
Helped both me and my girls with compassionate care and steadfast support. Each of my girls therapists advocated for them during times of need. Goal oriented care to get you back to mental wellness.
Family Council Connect provides compassionate, professional, and judgment-free support to people who truly need it. Their work with individuals who have been down on their luck, those working to take accountability for… serious past mistakes, and children who are struggling emotionally or behaviorally is incredibly important and often overlooked. They focus on healing, rehabilitation, and real change—not just labels or past actions. It takes dedication and integrity to help people rebuild their lives while also supporting vulnerable children and families, and Council Connect does that work with care and respect. Our community is better because services like this exist, and I’m grateful for the role they play in helping people move forward in healthier ways.
My 2 therapists have been great. I never had a problem until their recent receptionists. Marked me as a No call/ no show and took me off the scheduling. Said I called after my appts and cancelled and that I never called… them when I was having issues with the telehealth link for my appt. I was going in person before but had to telehealth due to my job. Extremely rude behavior and they never informed my therapist of anything. They claim I never called when I got the phone records of the calls. They weren't sending me the telehealth links or appt reminders and claim they did. The receptionists are the problem. So judgy too.
Very unprofessional receptionist staff each one I spoke to were very snotty wouldn’t even give me any information on who my Therapist would have been
Wonderful with my girls. They take the time to get to know your child. All the staff are friendly.
The lady my son had really did help, she left. Had to see a guy that didn't help at all....
