About Prestera Health Services – Hurricane
Prestera Health Services operates from 3738 Teays Valley Road in Hurricane. The site sits in Putnam County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Teays Valley. West Virginia draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Outpatient care is delivered here, alongside telehealth appointments. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Care offered spans more than one level, which means someone can move between them without changing provider.

Treatment Services at Prestera Health Services
Outpatient care runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Ask what happens at the end of the program as well as the beginning, since that is where plans usually thin out. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Prestera Health Services Address, Location and Contact Information
The address is 3738 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV 25526, in Putnam County. The catchment reaches Teays Valley. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

It is a great place
This place is horrible to deal with. This is not the first time this has happened, it seems to be the norm, but we have tried for two weeks to get my grandson's very much need medication refilled. We have followed… Prestera's instructions and called the med refill line and left messages. Their recording itself says they may not check messages for a couple of days. Since we received no response, we contacted the pharmacy. They have left messages. We have called the front office as well who then transfers us to another person where (you guessed it), no one answers and we are advised to leave a voicemail. We leave a voicemail with no response. We have been transferred to so many voicemails it is not even funny. It has now been two weeks of daily calling and now my grandson is completely out of his medication. We will contact a lawyer when he starts having withdrawal symptoms or symptoms associated with his disorder due to not having his needed medication. This is ridiculous and I do not recommend Prestera for anyone. Like I said, this is not the first time we have dealt with this circus only to get a medication refill.
I’ve been a patient of Hopewell for about 5 years now. The office staff is very courteous. The medical assistant that does your vitals, drug test, etc as well as takes you back to the room to see the doctor is always… nice and well mannered. My doctor always listens to me and any problems that may be going on in my life at the time and she always expresses concern for whatever I may be talking to her about. I am completely satisfied with this place and the level of care I have always been given. I’m not going to disclose my doctors name but I do recommend Hopewell Place to anyone that is interested in receiving care for their mental health.
I must say., Gale MacAllister is such sn understanding soul. She approached my situation with an open ear. Her understanding and professional nature and knowledge stands out as a practitioner. Her assessment of my… medical issues, she approached with careful care and took the time to listen and engage with me to get a unique perspective which is rear these days. I'm very satisfied and blessed I'm her patient. So I highly recommend Prestera's Hurricane facility. David Harracksingh
Great place very kind people don't listen to these wrong reviews been going for a a few years they always helped me
Whatever you do, avoid this place at all costs. No matter how bad you are suffering, they will make it worse. You deserve better. Find somewhere else.
Definitely lacks professionalism. I usually do get my meds though because I don’t leave messages on the refill line. I leave a message at the office. They changed psychos on me and I’m not sure about this one yet. I… think the problem begins way up on the ladder. And that is the main problem. There’s no one capable to begin fixing the problems. I’m pretty sure it’s run by the state somehow and that right there is the root of ALL the problems. What a shock. Right?
they close at 5pm but they stop answering the phone around 2-3pm.
We’ve been attending here for 2 years, the first year and a half was fine. Then I had a doctor change, and was supposed to be scheduled with a new one, this never ended up happening. It got to the point where I needed a… refill on my medication so badly we had to beg for a refill. Thankfully I got a refill. That was in April. Radio silence from them, the never set me up with a new doctor, and because of this I have to go in as a “new patient” and go through all the hoops again just to get my medication I am prescribed, what a waste of time. If you plan on going here proceed with caution, they might do this to you too.
Been attempting to get ahold of this office for months . This place 1000% lacks professionalism. My doctor however was very sweet and I really liked her.. Christine I think is her name? The staff and the way the whole… office is put together however gets a 0/10
My daughter has been a patient of Prestera Center for over 10 years. The customer service of this office is lacking promptness. My daughter is on a controlled substance, so the refill must be called in every month on… the refill line. Almost every month she has to leave multiple messages to the office because the medication refill is not taken care of. She has ADHD and must have her medication daily. In these instances of no refill and no call backs, she suffers mentally due to the incompetence of the staff or leadership of this office. Maybe it's because they have too many patients, not really sure. My daughter is a college graduate, works full time and needs her medication daily to aid in her attention disorder, without this medication she suffers. Again, Leadership is at blame of this type of service.
This place is a joke! You're just a number to them. Everytime I need to REFILL my prescriptions it take up to 2 weeks to hear back from them. (And don't get me started on the wait time for an apt... months!) I will be… finding a new facility w better service and friendlier staff. DO NOT GO HERE!!
