Online ratings consistently reflect a high level of satisfaction with the family program, which helps loved ones understand the disease of addiction and build a healthy support system. Reviewers often mention that the facility provides the “tools and community” necessary for a fresh start, regardless of how many times an individual has tried treatment in the past. These positive testimonials underscore the center’s commitment to clinical excellence and its role as a beacon of hope for the Birmingham community.

Impact truly saved my life. When I arrived, I was broken, lost, and carrying years of pain, shame, and addiction. What I found wasn’t just a program—it was a fellowship and a spiritual foundation that helped rebuild me… from the inside out. Colby, Shwartz, Tanner, and Moody helped me in ways no other staff ever had, even after two previous programs and relapses. Their guidance, honesty, and presence made all the difference. The clinical team—Kathleen and Emily—were the other half of why Impact works so well. Emily’s French Bulldog, Fudge, and especially Kathleen’s therapeutic horse farm, Samsons Strength Veterans Project, which I was fortunate to visit twice during my stay, were incredible gifts that added so much healing to my experience. The staff here don’t just “show up”—they lead with accountability, authenticity, and real-life experience that makes you feel truly seen and understood. The structure, the spiritual focus, and the honest conversations pushed me in ways I didn’t know I needed, and they filled the gaps I had been searching for. Impact gave me clarity, purpose, and real tools to stay sober and actually live—not just survive. I’m grateful every single day for what this place poured into me. If you’re struggling and looking for true change, Impact will meet you where you’re at and help you grow into the person you were meant to be. They didn’t just help me recover… they helped me reclaim my life. I didn’t get to know Adams, the owner, very well, but hearing his Mother speak about his addiction changed me. I couldn’t help but picture my own mother telling a room full of men my story—with tears in her eyes—because I had finally made it. That moment hit me hard and stayed with me. Addiction is life or death. I wouldn’t have spend the time writing this review if they hadn’t saved mine.
I had the best experience at phase 1 I could of ever asked for. Just transitioned to phase 2 which is going great so far! This place saved my life! I owe them everything
Excellent program. I have been to multiple centers and this program by far is the most solution based center of them all. It has great staff and great energy.
There’s not vocabulary to describe how special this place is. Highly recommend
Making the decision to come to Impact was easily one of the best I’ve ever made! This program truly has changed my life and showed me how to life a fulfilling life in recovery! The environment is beautiful, the staff is… passionate and very knowledgeable. The family programs they offer are unique and allow loved ones to understand the disease of addiction. As well as the transitional living they offer where they dive deeper into sponsorship and teach you how to carry the message to others in need. Overall my experience here was powerful and would highly recommend to anyone struggling with the disease of addiction!
Impact is an excellent place to get well. They truly understand the underlying problems and the solution. I have been to other places that have not been nearly as helpful. They will take great care of you and educate… you like no other to really get better. They really do care and even feed you well and take care of all your needs.
Impact Recovery was a great experience. This disease can make one feel alone and hopeless. In this place I felt welcome and embraced by the staff and other residents that share in this disease. They teach you not only… to live a sober life but much more about a different way of life that is fulfilling and free. I can’t say enough about the staff”s authenticity and genuine care and understanding of someone going through and battling this illness. It comes from their own life experiences that are relatable to our own, as they all have battled this disease and live to share and help others achieve the same.
Life changing experience at Impact Recovery. Entire staff was very knowledgeable and always treated residents with respect. The Impact Team was in constant contact with my family with updates on my recovery.
I honestly can’t thank Impact and their entire staff enough! I had no clue what to expect with them being my very first treatment center. I’ve never worked the Steps before and truly believed that I was just meant to… live the same miserable life that I’ve been living until my death. They showed me that was far from the truth. I can proudly attest to that with today being 90 days sober! This is the longest I’ve been 100% off anything mind-altering since I was 14 years old. From my very first call with the owner Adams to my last day of the 35 day program, everyone treated me with so much kindness and patience. They teach you everything you need to know in order to live a happy and healthy life without drugs/alcohol, you just have to be willing to not only learn what they teach but also put it all into practice in real life. Wherever below rock bottom is, I was there for sure before Impact. Adams, Chad, Shaun, Colby, Schwartz, Dikis, Taner, Moody, Sam, Kathleen, and Emily, you are all a Godsend and I thank you for honestly saving my life. Keep doing the amazing work that you all have been doing, and if anyone reading this is willing and able to become part of the Impact family I say do it. Don’t hesitate and take that first step towards true recovery
I wanted to take my own life before coming to Impact. I felt completely and utterly hopeless. I was pitifully and incomprehensibly demoralized, plagued by regret, and crushed by the weight of the unmanageable life I was… leading. Impact provided a safe place for me to truly accept what I can’t change for the first time, and helped show me the way forward. If you are ready to be honest with yourself and follow some directions you may not understand at first, I promise you that Impact can and will help you.
If you are truly ready to surrender, receive help, and are willing to go to any length to rid yourself of addiction, Impact’s program will transform your life in ways you never thought possible. The staff is first class… and have all ‘been there’. They are sincere and passionate about helping others recover. Sobriety is only the tip of the iceberg. The resulting new way to approach life is so rewarding.
Impact saved my life and changed it for the better. The staff is incredible and it’s in a beautiful, serene location that’s easy to get to from anywhere in the country. I’ve been to some of the “Best” treatment centers… in the country and none were as nice and more importantly, beneficial as Impact. Highly recommend!
Truly a top notch facility and program unlike anywhere I had ever been. They are sharing the solution to recovery using the most knowledgeable counselors in the industry who care. Adams P. is a wealth of knowledge and… made the transition out there so easy. Best thing I ever did was complete the Impact Recovery Program.
Impact might be the only treatment center in the world that tells you the truth about the disease of alcoholism/addiction: the fact you can recover, and live a full enjoyable life. The staff at impact wants you to get… well and since getting out I have a solid foundation and no excuse to replace again because of the work done in 35 days and the foundation that was built. I owe my life to impact. From admissions, mentors, to the owners I cannot say enough about the role they played in my recovery with a problem I’ve been dealing with for 16 years.
If you or your loved one is experiencing difficulties in overcoming addiction to drugs or alcohol or just with life in general, I highly recommend calling Chad or Adams. I recently spent about 65 days in Alabama and… experienced a life-changing and life-saving miracle. Even if you do not struggle with addiction of drugs or alcohol, these men share lessons that EVERYONE needs to learn and incorporate into their lives. It took me 38 years and living in the middle of nowhere Alabama to finally find legitimate peace and happiness. Impact is an appropriate name because these guys changed my life and I will forever be grateful to them. It truly helped me put life into perspective. This program is not just about overcoming an addiction, it is a new way of life. We dive deep into a self-examination, finding what drives our thoughts and behavior, finding our purpose in life and walking through the steps to discovering ourselves and our God-given mission in life. Through the gracious love and support of my family, I was forced to enter treatment. Not only did the members of Impact help me to identify myself as an alcoholic (I did not admit it before), but now I consider myself a grateful alcoholic as I would not have been able to experience this life-saving program otherwise. I've developed a fellowship of men that I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life. I have a wife and 2 kids at home and was the sole provider. Yet we still made it work through the love and support of my family. While I understand others are in much more difficult circumstances, I merely offer this as a suggestion to please not make excuses and get the help you need. Not only for you, but for your family and loved ones so that you can live happily in the moment, and show up as the son, husband, or father that you were called to be. Impact has two phases: one phase is around 35 days in Odenville while the second phase (upon successfully completing phase 1) is located in Birmingham. While I was initially skeptical at staying another 30 days in Alabama in "Phase 2," I highly recommend it as it served as a great transition of experiencing obstacles but being able to work through them thoughtfully with staff and residents.
In 2018 I went to a rehab for the first time and left without really grasping the message behind the 12 steps. After struggling to recover my own way for 6 years, I realized it wasn't working. I finally got in touch… with Adams and I could tell he had something I could get on board with. Nervous and afraid of what I was getting myself into, I got on a plane to Alabama to check into Impact recovery. When I landed in Birmingham, Adams was right there to greet me at the airport, which showed how much he truly cares. I was driven to the facility by a member of his staff and greeted by other residents upon my arrival. The residents assured me that I was in a good place, and took me in with open arms. After no more than a week, I felt completely comfortable and was immersed in the 12 steps of recovery. Rehab is never easy, but Impact has a way of challenging you to be the best version of yourself, not only for your family/friends, but for YOU. Through the ups and downs of growth, I found myself healing, and adopting a completely new and positive perspective on life. For the first time in a long time I found a sense of happiness, I truly did not believe I would ever feel. I met great friends and mentors, who I now trust with my life. I came to Impact to recover from my addiction to alcohol. I had no idea I would be leaving here not only recovered, but as happy as I've ever been in my entire life. Impact saved my life. Thank you!
I was barely hanging on to life before I went through impact. When I was unable to help myself, the staff went well out of their way to make sure I got the help I needed from their program and beyond it. As someone who… had never even considered recovery or even the 12 steps, they made me feel like I was still exactly where I needed to be - and I was. The staff is a collection of role models for how to live life. They all had something I had been missing my entire life and helped me achieve that. If you’re new to the recovery process or just feel lost in the cycle of alcoholism or addiction I couldn’t recommend calling Josh or Adam’s from Impact enough. There’s a good chance picking up the phone and talking to them will save your life, it certainly saved mine. Recovery is an uncomfortable process, but the guys there helped guide me day by day to get through it. The environment there is extremely positive with great counseling, food, and extra curricular activities as a bonus. It’s a beautiful place to learn how to really live life and I’m eternally grateful for all of them!
Impact goes above and beyond for the clients that come through their doors. They meet clients where they're at but encourage them not to sit in that place for too long. There is no Recovery Center is the Southeast… region that is providing men the tools needed for long term sobriety like Impact. The groups are broken off into small units of 3-4 clients in each group which makes it feel personal and individualized. The owner, Adams, as busy as he is, is ALWAYS on campus on Mondays facilitating step 1 groups. Shawn, the Culinary Expert has moved mountains to ensure every client receives a quality meal that meets their dietary needs. If you're struggling with trauma, grief, loss, or clinical depression, you will be able to work with Dana and Kathleen in a therapeutic role. They will meet with you multiple times per week so you get what you need. Their Executive Director, Chad Lentscher, is one of the humblest men I've ever met. He has put together a rockstar team. I could go on and on but if you or someone you know is struggling with alcoholism or addiction. Call Adams Pritchard and Josh Dikis and they will do whatever they can to get you in and present you with a second chance at life. Thanks for all you do Impact!
Impact is a place of intentionality in all decisions. It’s a place to get well and to experience what it really means to live a better life. After having gone through multiple treatment centers I was at my with-ends. I… told the admissions line this was my last hoorah and they understood. They put everything they had into giving me the tools to live free from substance abuse disorder. I was told one day we want to give you some direction in life as my mentor said. I feel that I have received that direction and I just hit another mile stone in sobriety. Impact is the greater good of men doing the will of God. It saved my life, it can save yours too.
My experience at impact was amazing it’s one of the best treatment centers that truly works and teaches you how to live a new way of life following the 12 steps
I had a great experience at Impact Recovery Center. The staff do a great job of working with you to complete the 12 steps. Highly recommend!
This is the best place I have ever been to. It changed my life, I am so grateful for this place and the people who work there.
My time at Impact Recovery Center was nothing short of incredible. I can honestly say that it saved my life. From all of the staff to the owners Adams and Chad. I was welcomed with open arms and it is nothing short of a… miracle that I found this place. The staff really wants to see you succeed and sets you up to make huge progress as long as you do the work needed. I was able to finish all twelve steps while I was there and now am sponsoring other men. I was afraid at first, but the acceptance I received and the attention to detail every staff member gave me, made it easy for me to succeed while there. These guys made recovery enjoyable for me, something I never knew was possible. I reccomend this place to anyone out there that is in need for help, and I can’t wait to be back for alumni events!
Impact Recovery is a great place to go if you’re interested in a 12-step based recovery. Whether it’s your first time trying to get sober or have relapsed and need a fresh start into your recovery,Impact will give you… the tools you need. All of the staff (except licensed therapist) work a 12 step program themselves and have extensive knowledge of the big book. Even the owners are very hands on and conduct groups themselves which is different from any other place I’ve been. The mentors only mentor a few guys at a time, so they have the time for a personal one on one experience with their guys as well as the groups. The people here really do care about every person and are willing to do anything to help you find God, stay sober, and live a life as a productive member of society and the recovery community.
Impact Recovery completely changed my life. The methodologies taught by the highly knowledgeable, caring staff guided me to a newfound sense of inner peace. I was freed from my addiction and shown not only how to live… without substances but how to experience the joy of thriving in sobriety. I was apprehensive and extremely anxious to enter treatment, but the Impact folks made me instantly feel at ease. The wide open, beautiful natural facilities, camaraderie, guidance, love and support helped me to overcome the most deep-seated, powerful issues in my life and unearth many hard, but invaluable truths about myself. I no longer live in fear or anger thanks to Impact. I have confidence, clarity and solace. If you are considering treatment for yourself or a loved one, please join the Impact community of recovered men and women and realize a holistic recovery. There is no other program like it. Thank you Adams, Chad, Colby, Jacob, Moody, Tanner, Kathleen, Dana and Dustin (and the whole Impact community)!
If you’re looking for a place that will really give your loved one a fair chance at learning how to live sober, Impact is the place. They are very comprehensive with therapists and providers that can help with any… underlying issues which was a big reason why we chose Impact. My dad has struggled 20+ years in addiction and before Impact, never committed to any other program he went to. He loved Impact and we believe it saved his life. He has a deep understanding of the 12 steps and what it takes. The mentors (and really the entire staff) are precious people who truly care and commit 100% to helping the residents. There really aren’t enough words to describe Impact and everything they have done for my family. If you have a choice, choose Impact!
Thank you Impact! What you provided me was truly a gift. What I learned here about myself directly correlates with my sobriety. These people truly get it. Each and every one of their staff members are highly skilled,… proffesional and share vast knowledge and personal experience. If you want the tools to get your life right, to get sober and start living, this is the place for you. I simply cannot say enough great things about the environment they have created. Life changing to say the least. Thank you again Impact fam! Much love.
Impact saved my life. They are a true 12 step facility. They guided me thru the steps and helped me to become whole again. The brotherly love felt while being there was profound. I am able to face life successfully… today, something that I tried to do before but could not. The facility is beautiful and perfectly isolated to allow deep reflection without the distractions of the everyday hustle we so often become trapped in. If you are ready to make a change then I highly recommend Impact Recovery Center.
