How Much Does Treatment at Hospital Lusíadas Amadora Cost?

As a general hospital rather than a dedicated addiction treatment centre, the area’s typical outpatient guide of around €700–€2,300 (£600–£2,000) a month is included here as broader context for the dependency consultations offered, rather than the hospital’s own published price.

For an accurate figure, ask the hospital directly what a dependency consultation costs, whether follow-up sessions are priced the same, and how a referral for further psychiatric care would be arranged.

Hospital Lusíadas Amadora Reviews

Patients, family members who’ve supported someone through an appointment here, or professionals who’ve referred to Hospital Lusíadas Amadora are all welcome to leave a review for others to read.

Beyond reviews, it’s worth checking accreditation: the hospital is registered with the Entidade Reguladora da Saúde (ERS). A good question to ask is how the dependency-related appointments are structured and what happens after an initial consultation.

I've been a patient at this clinic for many years, and I've always received excellent service and highly recommend it... with great facilities and excellent professionals!! It's a shame that lately we haven't had any… humans answering calls for appointments and exams!! Only artificial intelligence! Don't they realize that people don't want to be served by incompetent machines?! That a person who wants to schedule an appointment or exam spends many minutes trying to interact with a programmed machine that can't answer our questions and doubts?! Honestly!! Please bring back humans answering the calls!!!

A very disappointing experience at a private dermatology appointment with Dr. Mário at the Lusíadas Amadora Hospital. I was asked to arrive 15 minutes early, but I was seen more than an hour late, without any apology.… During the consultation, there was no attention whatsoever, and the assessment was so quick that the doctor barely stood up. He simply observed my skin from a distance. I was wearing foundation, and when I wanted to remove it, he told me it wasn't necessary, even though the makeup was precisely hiding the acne, which was one of the reasons for the consultation. He prescribed medication quickly, and I barely had time to clarify doubts or explain my other complaint: dermatitis, which he didn't even examine. When I asked for a recommendation for this problem, he only replied that I should buy a specific shampoo at the pharmacy. I had to insist and ask which one, since there are dozens of types. Furthermore, the prescription was issued without my patient information. It was only at the pharmacy that I realized the medications weren't covered by insurance. I contacted the hospital with difficulty (only an automated system) to request a correction, and almost 15 days later, I still haven't received a new prescription with the correct information. Especially in a private consultation, I expected a careful assessment, explanations, and attentive follow-up. I left feeling like I had received rushed, superficial service that didn't pay much attention to my complaints. The delay in correcting the prescription further aggravated this experience. I do not recommend it and I will not return.

The robot Lucy doesn't resolve the scheduling issue! I request exams, and she insists on scheduling an appointment! I repeat, exam!!!! She insists on the appointment, and we're stuck! Before, there were 5 phone options,… now you wait an eternity to be attended to by an assistant after the robot gives up!!! Let's just say the assistant's service is TERRIBLE, IT COULDN'T BE WORSE!! She literally doesn't know the service she provides!! She gives the information that the breast ultrasound is covered, but that's been the case since the last century!! What isn't covered is the new axillary exam! She couldn't tell me the price, she couldn't say if it's mandatory!!!! I wanted to schedule even without correct and detailed information, and she hangs up the phone!!! After waiting 1 hour for phone service!!! Robot, Assistant, what are they for????? To make me go there in person!!!!

Please note that they charge for medical procedures under agreements with ADSE (a Portuguese health insurance scheme), charging the patient their share, but simultaneously issue extra invoices for the same medical… procedures, using a different name and charging privately, therefore charging twice.

Terrible service from the gentleman who served my friend. He started speaking loudly to her and questioning why she didn't speak Portuguese perfectly, even though other employees served her in English without any… problem. Furthermore, he had the audacity to ask why she lives in the country if she doesn't speak Portuguese so well. A completely unnecessary, disrespectful, and prejudiced comment. My friend isn't in the country for free; she works and contributes like anyone else. She went to the establishment to be served, not to be judged or embarrassed because of her level of Portuguese. It's regrettable that, in the 21st century, there are still professionals who treat customers this way. At the very least, respect, courtesy, and professionalism were expected. No one is obligated to speak a language perfectly to deserve decent service.

The management of appointments and exams is very poor. I had an appointment for an echocardiogram on October 1st at 1:50 pm and a consultation on the same day with the same doctor. On the 15th, I received a message… rescheduling the exam for October 8th, but not the consultation. On that same day, I rescheduled the consultation for the 8th. To my surprise, yesterday, September 30th, the exam was rescheduled again on the Lusiadas app for October 1st at 1:50 pm. I called the hospital to confirm at 6:25 pm and spoke with an assistant who assured me that the exam was on October 1st at 1:50 pm and that she was unaware of any message, even after I insisted. Today at 1:30 pm, when I was going to check in, I was told that the exam was scheduled for October 8th. I even showed it on the app, and the employee verified that it was scheduled for 1:50 pm on October 1st. I lost hours of work, fuel, and time. Who will pay for this? It should be the right hospital. I'll wait for clarification.

My praise goes to Dr. Gustavo Mendinhos; the wait for the appointment was worthwhile. He helped me with several issues, and I intend to return soon to continue my gynecological follow-up. Welcoming and kind, very… attentive and humane.

I still haven't been seen, but there's no consistency between the communications via email, phone, and the network's online portal. Everyone schedules or reschedules appointments as they please, or the appointments… aren't even shown.

The worst telephone service in Portugal! I waited 15 minutes only to be hung up on! A lady named Elena kept me waiting for 15 minutes after I explained my situation, only for another lady to answer and hang up on me!… It's absurd, a complete lack of respect for a patient! It's sad that they hide behind a phone line and there are no consequences!

I am writing to share my terrible experience at the Lusíadas Reboleira hospital, starting with the incompetence of the employee who scheduled this exam. On August 10th, I went to take the "stress test," since this… particular exam is not performed at that Reboleira unit because it is more complex. That day, another employee who was in training and had no one to help with her duties made the mistake of verifying that the exam was not performed there. She proceeded, and I paid for the exam. When I was all prepared and on the treadmill, another employee saw that the exam was not performed there. I asked for a refund and they said it would be the next day, which gave me hope. Two days later, I returned to the hospital and inquired about the refund, and nothing was resolved. Since I had other exams to do, I asked if it would be possible to deduct that amount. The following week, I had other exams done and didn't pay anything at the time. But after a week, I received an invoice by email, which I even received on a Sunday with a due date four days prior, and it didn't deduct the amount I had paid for the exam that wasn't done. I spent two hours on the phone, being transferred from one employee to another, then it was just music playing and the call was never transferred to the billing department. I sent three emails and nothing has been resolved to this day. Now I receive emails every day to make the payment, but those who owe me don't want to answer my emails. In other words, they're great at collecting payments, but when it comes to honesty and professionalism in the workplace, they're terrible. I've never seen such dishonest people. And what's worse, they'll ruin their reputation over something so small. As far as I'm concerned, I'm never going back there.

Today my wife and I went to the Lusiadas Amadora hospital with an appointment in ophthalmology with Dr. Manuela Carmona. The appointment, which was for my wife, was possibly, or even the worst, medical appointment I… have ever attended. When a healthcare professional asked the reason for the appointment, she then ignored what the patient was saying and, with an unpleasant attitude, proceeded to perform a series of tests to prescribe new lenses, which had NOTHING to do with the problem in question. When Dr. Manuela finally let one of us speak, her response was, "There's nothing to be done about her age," "I don't believe in those new machines for convergence therapy and correction, I'm skeptical about them." "I've seen thousands of patients and I've never seen anyone get better." What kind of doctor annihilates any hope of improvement for a patient who came to that hospital recommended with the hope that someone would actually try to help? She then went on to say after all this that it wasn't her specialty and that she didn't know anything about it. I then asked if she could recommend someone who could help (which was really silly of me, as this would be the worst doctor I've ever met in my life) and the answer was "Call the Lusiadas call center." In short, I will never set foot in this hospital again. To everyone who had the patience to read this comment, I strongly recommend that you reconsider booking appointments with this doctor, a completely outdated doctor who leaves patients uncomfortable, frustrated, and from beginning to end, a waste of time and money, and an excellent way to ruin someone's day.

I am writing because I sent an email to the administration of Lusíadas Reboleira on the day of the appointment, July 22, 2026. The first Endocrinology appointment with Dr. Mario Mascarenhas was on May 26, 2026. Billing… was in accordance with my insurance. I scheduled another appointment with the same doctor to show him the test results. To my surprise, it was billed as private. The administrative staff couldn't say anything and were speechless. I ended up going to the appointment and at the end I even asked the doctor if Saturday appointments were more expensive. He smiled and didn't add anything else. Regarding the email, I haven't received a response yet. The invoice on the app shows the private amount. I want to pay, please, but with the correct amount. Anabela Rodrigues

I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the healthcare professionals who work at this Hospital and consequently within the group, because my episode of cervical spine hernias began with a consultation at Lusíadas… Oriente and ended today with my discharge from this excellent Hospital, thanks to the surgical intervention performed by the most renowned surgeon in our country, Dr. Sérgio Livraghi. An excellent human being, an admirable professional, very attentive and informative, very affable, polite and kind – in short, everything good in one person whom I have known for at least 10 years, since he also performed surgery on a benign intracranial schwannoma for my wife. I am very grateful to him from the bottom of my heart and wish him continued success in his career, always with much luck, health and happiness, as well as to his secretary (Mrs. Teresa) and all his family. I would also like to highlight the following professionals for their professional excellence, very attentive, polite, helpful and cheerful, and I apologize if I forget the name of anyone who crossed my path along this journey, as I have no reason to complain about any of them: - Ms. Paula Fernandes (administrative); - Dr. Manuel Joaquim Santos (anesthesiologist) who was later replaced by another doctor whose name I don't remember and who was very attentive and kind to me in the operating room, almost like a mother, I loved her until I came out of anesthesia; CPA Service: - Nurse Joana (very attentive, professional and beautiful); - Nurse Auchan (an excellent professional, explaining everything with great attention and examples); - Nurse Romualdo (a great member of the 1967 class like me); - Assistant Iara Baessa (beautiful, attentive, smiling and always available in her lovely generation, a girl I adored and who I see with a great future ahead of her); - Nurse José Augusto (Top, from Fronteira, an excellent and very knowledgeable professional, explains everything very well in great detail, a great professional); - Assistant Sofia (from Campo Maior) spectacular, very friendly and polite; - Dr. Ana (I don't remember her last name but she was on duty at night) a spectacular person, affable, friendly, helpful, attentive and sweet in dealing with matters; - Dr. Filipa (I only spent a few hours with her, but her kindness captivated me immediately). I thank all of you who are the angels of the world so that we feel well and live our lives (sometimes very complicated), with more health and courage, and for that you should be much better paid, much better recognized by society, for your very noble profession of willingness to help others, something that is increasingly lacking in this world. You are the hope for a better, healthier and more smiling world. Thank you to all those mentioned and those who work at this institution.
