About Arch – Sioux Falls
Arch operates from 516 West 12th Street in Sioux Falls. The site sits in Minnehaha County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Anderson, Canton and Meadow View Addition. South Dakota draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Residential treatment is delivered here, alongside care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Treatment Services at Arch
Residential treatment runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Residential runs long-term, which suits people who have tried shorter stays without them holding. Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers.

Arch Address, Location and Contact Information
The address is 516 West 12th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57104, in Minnehaha County. The catchment reaches Anderson, Canton and Meadow View Addition. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.
Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Opening hours shift with staffing, and an evening slot one month may not exist the next. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

Arch Reviews and Ratings
Share your experience of Arch. Reviews from patients, loved ones, healthcare workers and referring professionals are published in this section and help families in Sioux Falls and beyond understand the program.
A resident who had been staying at ARCH was recently admitted to the hospital due to serious medical concerns. While hospitalized, it was discovered the individual was experiencing a medication-related reaction that… caused symptoms similar to someone who had been drugged. What may have appeared to others as lack of motivation or being difficult was actually the result of a medical complication. The resident has now been treated and medically cleared for discharge. However, ARCH has indicated they are unwilling to allow the resident to return, even after learning the behaviors that raised concern were connected to a medical issue. Because of this, the resident is now facing the very real possibility of being discharged from the hospital without housing and becoming homeless during an already vulnerable time. To their credit, the hospital team is actively working to find safe options and support this resident, but this situation highlights how quickly someone can lose stability when medical issues are misunderstood. Our hope in sharing this is not to place blame, but to raise awareness about the importance of trauma-informed care, medical understanding, and compassionate policies when supporting vulnerable individuals in our community. No one should have to face homelessness because of a treatable medical issue. Everyone deserves the opportunity to recover with dignity, safety, and support.
I can’t say enough good things about our experience at Arch Academy. Our son was 14 when he entered the program. He entered with a terrible attitude with really no intention of turning his life around. He was extremely… stubborn and angry about having to go through the process, but midway through he began to embrace the program and change. It took him a little bit longer than expected, but ultimately, he graduated from the program and came back a whole other kid. I can’t imagine where we would be if we hadn’t chosen to send them to Arch. We have hope that the future looks positive and that he has the tools that he needs to be successful in life and recovery. While it was challenging to leave him for so long, it was well worth it, and I would highly recommend the program to any other adolescence, struggling with substance abuse.
Had a very helpful DBT skills group. Change is possible but not easy. Enjoy the day
ARCH Residential helped my son learn valuable new skills and tools to give him and our family hope for a future without pains of addiction. His counselor Carolyn guided him through very difficult changes in thinking.… Our family is forever grateful. They also assisted us will building a post-care treatment plan and program to support him along his journey, since release. My son is now helping the rest of us with the habits and exercises he learned.
Overcome adversity and elevate yourself to maintain a positive and healthy lifestyle.
It was great it help me alot well I did my 30 day treatment program an i thought the AA and NA help me alot the staff was awesome.
The staff ate my cheeseburger and stole my spiderman suit!!
If you love fire alarms, this is your spot.
I enjoyed my time here and used their assistance to better my life situation to the fullest. It truly is what you make of it.
Staff always conflicting each other
This place wont even let a person get food for them self and put you on house arrest for having food and beverages in your room I work all day and can't be there to eat so I try to feed myself and get in trouble like I… was using that's not cool I guess can't eat.
Rachel and Kassy are amazing!
Some staff is awesome. Some are on power trips. But it helps you get a step in right direction
This place is very similiar to jail . The staff is extremely condescending. They Patronize you every step of the way . They take your EBT regardless of how long you stay. In groups you get to watch cartoons and listen… to the counselor use vulgar and derogatory language. The arch is not there to help you. They just wait for you to screw up. It's a revolving door for people who need help .
It's ok for a new beginning.
Very respectful and good worker and very friendly. Great atmosphere very positve.
Great place to transition. Staff is cool
