About Brisbane AOD Services (Moonyah)
Brisbane AOD Services, known as Moonyah, is a Salvation Army alcohol and drug service at Red Hill on Turrbal and Yuggera land, offering a 13-bed withdrawal unit, an 80-bed three-month residential rehabilitation programme and a non-residential day programme with one-to-one support.
Withdrawal is for mild to moderate presentations and usually lasts seven to 10 days in dormitory accommodation, while the residential programme provides each participant with their own room and shared bathrooms. Pre- and post-treatment support, case management and referral run alongside both. The service can be reached on (07) 3369 0922. Basketball and volleyball courts, a pool and a recreation room are on site, and the chapel is optional.

Brisbane AOD Services (Moonyah) Detox and Rehab Services
Moonyah covers four levels of care: withdrawal management across 13 beds, three months of residential rehabilitation with 80 beds, a day programme and aftercare. Case management, group therapy, art and music therapy, and exercise and nutrition work are the therapies the service lists across those programmes.
Withdrawal is described as suiting mild to moderate needs, with a seven to 10-day stay in a dormitory, after which someone can move into the longer programme. The day programme is non-residential and includes one-to-one support. Specific substances, medications and dual diagnosis support are not listed, so ask the intake team what Moonyah can manage and what it refers on.

Where Is Brisbane AOD Services (Moonyah)?
Brisbane AOD Services operates at Red Hill, just north-west of Brisbane’s central business district in Queensland, on Turrbal and Yuggera country. No street address or postcode is listed for the Moonyah site, so ask the intake team for the exact address when arranging an admission.
Opening hours are not listed, but the service answers on (07) 3369 0922. Entry depends on which programme suits: the withdrawal unit takes mild to moderate presentations, while the three-month programme is a much longer commitment. Places in an 80-bed programme turn over steadily rather than instantly, so check availability and the address before travelling to Red Hill.

How Much Does Treatment at Brisbane AOD Services (Moonyah) Cost?
Published prices for Brisbane AOD Services weren’t found, and no fee, funding or subsidy detail is listed for the Moonyah withdrawal unit, the three-month residential programme or the day programme. The intake team is therefore the only source of a figure for any of them.
For general context only, residential rehabilitation in Australia tends to run around A$10,000 to A$30,000 a month, depending on the length of stay and whether the programme is privately or publicly funded and a supported withdrawal episode around A$3,000 to A$5,000 for a seven to ten day episode; neither is a quote for Moonyah. Contact the service on (07) 3369 0922 for pricing tailored to your needs. No Medicare, private health insurance, NDIS or WorkCover arrangement is listed.

Brisbane AOD Services (Moonyah) Reviews
Reviews of Brisbane AOD Services from around the web are limited, and feedback that mentions Moonyah often describes The Salvation Army more broadly than this Red Hill service. RehabSeekers hosts reviews for the service, so anyone who has been through withdrawal or the longer programme here can share their experience.
Moonyah is a large site, so first-hand accounts can tell a reader things a service description cannot: how the dormitory withdrawal felt, whether the move into the three-month programme was smooth, and how much the pool, courts and art and music sessions added to a long stay.
Excellent service and support, if your willing to make a change in your life then you will get the support you need. I went to Moonyah and proudly still clean. Thank you to all the people and staff that did round the… clock work here. Life-changing ❤️
Conner's intake Questions, understanding and caring nature helped me more then he could imagine. Thank you Conner for treating me like a human being ❤️
Don’t recommend Courtney caseworker. If you ever decide to go here. There is no communication at all and no properly structured. they are three stages of groups and most of the time they tell you to do it yourself self… directed. In my experience being in Moonyah. support workers are friendly, but apart from that there’s a lot of usage on site.. I was there for 2 1/2 months and got nowhere and really be careful of the financial side . because I don’t think they have no idea what they are doing because payments go up and down they keep changing it without telling you without communicating with you first. No communication or ect. so be careful on the financial side, cause they will say one thing and then the next it changes with a click of a finger. Very unprofessional that’s my opinion. I will definitely recommend Fairhaven . And the facilities, especially the males very unhygienic and very poor dirty rooms. To be honest, it made my addiction worse with the facilities.
This will be my second go at turning my life around,my first stint I relapsed smoking pot, caught out I was ashamed and embarrassed I copped out and left, they treated me very well first time, they're very helpful and… understanding,it,s a humbling experience to open up about past traumas, issues, but it's necessary to grow and get better.i highly recommend the salvation army rehab centres.moonya is great because is also close to everything being almost in the middle of Brisbane, more opportunities to move forward, transition into their housing, work etc.its been a long road to get to this point, ppl don't put your rehab, recovery off,or your chance for a better life.thankyou Moonya.
Its the help that changes your life
I had tried other rehabs and detoxs before and failed....i did a 12 month program at moonyah for ice addiction and it totally changed my life...i am a lesbian and even though it is a christian based program, i was… welcomed and treated with respect and the moonyah staff helped me to save my life...today i am clean and i couldnt have done it without these people...if you really want to get clean and sober this is the place to go...
They're supposed to be a rehab that judge people before they get to know them. You could be charged not convicted and yet they will treat you like you are guilty and a bad person, without giving you a go at changing… your life
Great stuff, feet on ground, Vicky unfortunately I can’t stick to a 6 pack, you know I said I’ll be ok? I’m not, not ok at all, but overall? Great place , good food, friendly people, maybe after 3 days in detox, 😂🙏🏻, so… yeah, I need my same bed soon guys , 🙏🏻❤️👍
