About Center for Change – Wichita

Center for Change operates from 933 North Topeka Street in Wichita. The site sits in Sedgwick County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Augusta, Eastborough and McConnell AFB. Kansas draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.

Outpatient care is delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, an opioid treatment program, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at Center for Change

Outpatient care runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Buprenorphine, methadone and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

Center for Change Address, Location and Contact Information

The address is 933 North Topeka Street, Wichita, KS 67214, in Sedgwick County. The catchment reaches Augusta, Eastborough and McConnell AFB. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.

Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

Out of all the years coming here, this is the second time that I’ve been disappointed in this place and both times have been this time around. I’ve only left reviews three times my entire life anywhere twice here but… once removed. I just got home with my first weeks take-home after a while. I normally transfer my bottles in a box from my truck into a box in my room because I don’t want my neighbors to see me carrying in a box like this every week. I went to open my box and I’m guessing one of the bottles leaked could be multiple 🤷‍♀️ I don’t know because after I saw the medicine all over some bank papers in my box I checked all the bottles and none of them were tight none of them. So now I’m screwed because the bottles were not tightened and now I’m going to be short of medicine somewhere. Clearly, if I had taken it, I would not have wasted it on my bank papers clearly, if I had given it to somebody, I would not have poured it on my bank papers. Im already pretty low so why would I short myself? Hmm 🤔 Years ago, when this happened, they would fix it as long as they could see that the medicine was in the box somewhere they would fix it. I’m sorry to leave a bad review that’s not who I am so it takes me getting pretty upset to do something like this. This isn’t right this isn’t right at all.. Like I just got home from the place it’s 516 in the morning right now and they’re telling me that there’s nothing that can be done. I just gotta go with it. Since being back this time, this is not the first time I feel like I’ve been set up for failure. Thankfully, I’ve been coming down and hopefully I won’t be here by Christmas.

This place does not care about you. They just want to get you on a methadone and then take your money for the rest of your life. They will never try and put you in treatment. They will never help you detox

counselor Barb genuinely cares & will go out of her way to help however she can! Julie at the front desk is always so sweet & radiates positive energy. Dosing nurse Linda is an angel. When i was struggling she took the… time to talk with me & ask if i was okay. What I really appreciate about this clinic is the staff bc they go above and beyond!

What is the fastest someone could get an intake? How long after intake before they would be able to get suboxone strips? Does intake require a certain amount of sober time, if so how long? Note: I just realized I wasnt… in the Q/A section after posing this lmao

Nice place to go to get help for opioid addiction. Most of the staff are friendly, and the nurses are sweet and get the job done quickly. They have two dosing windows that help the line move faster, usually.

Moved here from Denver and started treatment here after going through 6 days of withdrawal. It's been a month and a half and my counselor Chad, Receptionist Tina and well all of the staff here have just been absolutely… incredible, caring and non judgemental. Check in with me everyday to make sure my dose is holding up okay and to make sure I'm holding up. This place saved my life and is helping me continue to be the best wife and mother I can be. Thank you.

Changing my 5 star to a 1. These ppl could care less about your recovery. And try not to be in a bind of any kind bc they DON'T CARE. THEY Don't CARE ABOUT YOUR ADDICTION OR PROBLEMS. It's like they get you hooked on… this stuff, and then BAMM... their true colors show. No different than a "street pharmacist" it's sad. They call it liquid hand cuffs for a reason. If you're smart, never go up to 15mg and try to wing yourself off within a few months and be done with these ppl. I wish I did Just some advice...and I've lost many teeth, all of my energy, and gained over 100lbs...😮‍💨

It’s all about profits here. It isn’t really to help patients overcome opioid addiction. There is no real consideration for patients the only thing methadone does is increase your addiction

I see a lot of negative reviews on here. All I can say is I've had nothing but great experiences with CFC it's by far the best clinic I've been 2, granted Its only my second one but it's a million times better than the… last one I was at. The nurses and councilors and the receptionist are all amazing. Everybody is so freindly and understanding. I've had a few instances where I had to leave town in a hurry and they worked with me everytime and helped me. It's just an amazing place in my opinion and my councilor is cool as hell. CFC has completely changed my life for the better. So blessed to have this place.

I had a couple broken bones and was struggling with the pain medicine, somebody referred me here and they are so nice, welcoming, and friendly. They actually act like they care about their patients. I haven’t been… anywhere else so I don’t know how the other places are but my counselor Tracey is the best! She is so down to earth, understanding, compassionate, and genuine!! Authenticly caring people is what makes our world a better place and that’s what we need! I will be forever grateful for this woman. I am feeling very positive about getting everything back on track ❤️ I hope everything goes well for me and everybody else. God bless

The counselor was so mean and she never believed anything I had to say. I had to see a counselor just about every single day for no reason. They also make you go to a meeting once month and the meetings are a joke most… of the time. I will never go back there.

I love this clinic. I miss Marvel. I come from Oklahoma to get my dose when visiting family. I don't know why people giving it one star for counselors dropping their dose if they relapse or to boot them off You are… there to get clean and should be grateful this is an option. This clinic saved my life and I will forever be grateful. I appreciate the counselors for doing their job and for helping others live clean productive lives. You are appreciated.

I was at CFC for over 2 years. If you fail your monthly UA you have to pay for (and pass) TWO more UA's before you're even back to square one, it used to be one. There never was a reason given, and some counselors… enforced it earlier than others. If you fail a UA for (non prescribed) benzos expect an automatic 10mg methadone dose drop. If the next UA is benzo free you can REQUEST to have your dose raised back up.

I've only been going to cfc about a month now so I may change my review at a later date. I transferred to cfc from wtc, and compared to wtc this place is heaven. My counselor is great I asked her if she was also an… addict and she said she was. I truly feel that a counselor can not even begin to know what we go through unless they've been there done that so I'm very happy with my counselor. The only issue I've had happened today, my counselor had a stop on me because I had a dirty UA, now she was very understanding since I've only been there a month and we are working on getting me to a stable dose. That being said I was informed that if you have a dirty UA you are then required to get a UA each week for the next 2 weeks and that you have to pay ten bucks for each UA. Normally you get tested once a month and that test is free. I don't mind doing the UA my problem is I was never told there were things that they would charge you for. I live on disability and my financial situation is such to where I have to really keep my expenses down as low as possible. I pay roughly 200 bucks a month just to dose and every little bit of money I have to fork out really puts me in a bind. So for anyone who's thinking about going keep in mind to ask what else could pop up that you would be charged for. Also an added thought, I have yet to see the doctor here I'm told there is one and that he's very nice, you would think you would see the doc when you first start.
