Crossroads Counseling Inc – State College

If you're looking for counseling and/or a therapist, be very careful when talking to anyone at this place and especially be extremely careful of what you say and/or how you say it. The woman that did my intake seemed… very nice on the outside, nice as pie, but she's actually almost evil. She took what I said and read more into it and stated in her notes for my therapist that I was interested in help in ways and areas that were NEVER mentioned to me. And I had to be adamant with my therapist that I wanted bi-weekly appointments instead of every week and he never once acknowledged how good I did on my own without seeing a therapist or anyone for a month. I ended up discharging myself. If I ever need any professional help, Crossroads Counseling Inc, especially the office in State College, PA, will be the last place I'll go to and I intend to tell anyone that asks to stay away at all costs. They are more interested in bilking the insurance companies than actually helping people.

I don’t understand the low ratings and terrible reviews. Wyatt McCool is the man! I’d give him a call!

NEVER, I REPEAT Never go here unless you want more mental health issues....Horrible experience that actually caused more trauma than anything else...never go here.

My personal experiences have been great here. Staff is friendly and attentive. I think this place is a good stepping stone if you need guidance and assistance through your mental health/addiction journey!

They do not care about their clients at all.

Crossroads is amazing they care about there patients( as long as you apply yourself and do what you need to do ) I wouldn’t be where I am in life with out them ♥️

I find it dissapointing to see so many negative reviews of this establishment, crossroads has been such a helpful resource for me and the therapists I have encountered truly have your needs in mind. Remember that… therapy is a two way street, you will encounter parts of yourself that are scary and you will have to face them yourself because they are here to help you see them, not to fix them for you. I've met some amazing therapists here, group or individual, and I've also met some therapists who aren't a good fit for me, but that's okay. If you need a place to go, this place has wonderful people and the sweetest receptionist. They are short staffed, but considering the circumstances, doing an amazing job handling it. I had to wait almost four months for an appointment and it was worth every wait. My therapists have never pushed any medications on me and have constistantly been available as soon as they can for crisis intervention, and I appreciate them for everything they do. They have also given me worksheets to take home and journal about, maintained a judgment free environment even in a tough situation, and helped me build my confidence in my real life and in my head. Give them a try, don't let the reviews scare you. They're predominantly drug and alcohol, sure, but their mental health team also provide a safe and loving space for patients. I was recommended here by the inpatient services at the ER, and I'm glad I went with them.

If you want to go somewhere that values mental health, this place should be last on the list. If I could rate this office less than one star I would. They will fail on their end and blame you. Then try to be nice and… make things right so it doesn’t go back on them. No cares in the world on their end.

I was told the day of my appointment that my therapist had quit without notice and that they'd get me replacement. I've called/emailed asking about the replacement, and still nothing almost a year later. I'd go… somewhere else that actually cares.

Unprofessional behavior towards patients

they made me reschedule and appointment and then had me wait 30 minutes to see me at said appointment and overall really uncaring people who dont take an individualized approach and basically give you a blanket… treatment and treat you like you are just like everyone else
