Derech Shalom Center Inc – Suffern

I wanted to share my experience in a transparent and constructive way. I initially faced some challenges with my therapist and reached a point where I was seriously considering leaving the clinic. In an effort to… address my concerns, I requested to speak with a supervisor. That decision made all the difference. When I connected with Dr. Aetrella, the experience completely shifted. She was incredibly warm, gentle, and genuinely understanding. She took the time to listen without judgment, validated my concerns, and approached the conversation with a level of care and professionalism that immediately put me at ease. Her ability to connect, de-escalate, and provide thoughtful guidance really stood out. It is clear that she brings both clinical expertise and emotional intelligence to her role. That interaction restored a sense of trust in the process for me. Dr. Aetrella is truly exceptional. I honestly wish she were my therapist. If her approach is any reflection of the leadership within this organization, there is strong potential for meaningful, client-centered care here.

My experience with Dr. Yael Helfgott was not as helpful as I had hoped. The therapy ended in a way that felt unexpected and difficult to understand.

Derech Shalom is really making a huge difference. Treating everyone with compassion and dignity I absolutely recommend for anyone in need of help!

They play with statements you make and edit it despite of promises they won’t do that and that they are ethical , they take sides . Don’t go there even if judge sent you there . This place is corrupt . Judge sent me… there because kids didn’t want to have visitation with their mother and my kids and I met there with Rebecca Beccas who edited our statements to make one look good and other look bad . I don’t recommend this place at all . Try to avoid it .
