Harrisburg Comprehensive Treatment Ctr – Harrisburg Detox and Rehab Services

Harrisburg Comprehensive Treatment Ctr – Harrisburg is recorded as offering intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

I have been with CTC for a really long time! They have helped me in so many ways in my recovery. I will be celebrating 10 years sober in November this year, and I owe that to Sherry and all the people at Harrisburg CTC.… They held me accountable when I needed it ( thank you nurse Jane and Sherry), they supported me in every way possible, and Sherry always told me the hard truths, which is what someone in recovery needs to here! I don't think I'd be alive today if it wasn't for the support I received from them over the years! Sometimes it may seem a little chaotic and crazy, but that's because they're helping so many people in their recovery journey! Some people may be having a harder time in that moment or be in crisis and need extra help, and they will be there for you in those moments as well! They will do everything possible to help you succeed in your recovery journey!

I have worked really hard for my recovery and this place continues to reward people who don’t care about getting sober. I don’t appreciate pulling into the parking lot to dose and seeing someone who used to sell me… drugs CAMPING in the parking lot for days now,, Why is this allowed? Where did the rules go where we couldn’t even hang out after getting medicine? This is neglectful towards those of us working the program and super triggering for me and others. Next tent city I guess. Idk who approved this but it’s making my decision to transfer easier.

This place has saved my life. If not for the kindness and patience of the staff I would still be stuck at rock bottom. With their help I have been able transform my life, handle légal issues, and have begun rebuilding a… healthier, happier, sober Me. Everyone there, from the awesome director, to the heaven sent nurses, to the insanely kind case managers, and the amazingly patient administrative assistants, has played a giant role in making me feel like I'm a worthy human being again.

Harrisburg CTC and their counselors have been wonderful for me since I've moved to Harrisburg from York. Definitely better than the clinic I attended there. Although they're sometimes short staffed, the counselors my… boyfriend and I have go above and beyond in everything they do... ALL of the staff at Harrisburg CTC does. When the director knows your name (and regularly checks in with you) and the front desk staff has your client number memorized, you know they take their time to get to know you. Shout out to counselors K and A, "secretary" Y, and director J - you all truly make a difference! Thank you! ❤️ Abby and Jordan

I have been here a few years and there were definitely times that were a little chaotic but that was also do to my own issues. The past year and since I have had Sherry as my counselor things have been way more… consistent. My counselor works with me and my schedule. She gives great feedback and has been super helpful with me on my taper journey.

My experience has been positive, you get out what you put in, if you are looking for support, and the tools to stay clean, then this place is perfect for you to try. The people care, Sherry Hosler (my counselor) has… been there to help guide me in the right direction, with the help of the CTC of Harrisburg, I can live without the use of drugs. Very clean, caring people!

So basically as a person who actually has been in school longer than the director of the program or any program like this, it’s annoying to say, many people are amazing who work there and many people are completely… clueless, and that is truly sad considering the money given to them, they cannot do any better, however they can…..so please do better…..and now this company totally missed the ball AGAIN, they RAN OUT OF METHADONE, the very thing that they SERVICE!!! Cannot get take homes at all doing the right thing because this CRC health place cannot keep their business in order!!!! As said before do better!!!!! For the community you’re serving!!!

Everyone here is so nice and helpful. I definitely was nervous to come here because of my anxiety. But this is definitely the place I recommend if you need help with addiction/recovery. Every person that works here are… so nice and they do everything they can to make you comfortable. No one will judge you here. Everyone here is so helpful and they listen to you and they do everything they can to help you stay clean. I'm thankful for everything they have done to help me!

They accommodated me on my stay here and helped me with my dosing but the nurses were pretty much always late and there was wait times which I'm not used to. I wasn't too fond of the crowd that came here either. Just… because you used to be an addict doesn't mean you need to still act like one.

Do your self a favor and go somewhere else. I have been a patient for 10 years and somehow my insurance was cut off. So now that I have a balance they hold my medicine over my head. Put a hold on you every day and make… you jump through hops just to get your medicine. I filed a complaint with Department of health today on them. They literally made me feel like I was being strong armed not allowing me to dose until I saw the director today. And I asked what I needed to do to get dosed and was told pay $5. My wife had a brain aneurysm 6 months ago and I had to have her at appointment at 8:30 I got there at 7:45. When she finally came out and got me at 8:15. I told her I had to have my wife at Harrisburg hospital at 8:30. She told me why I didn't come earlier they open at 5am. It should only take 5 minutes to dose. And then she told me to stop using my wife's aneurysm as an excuse. I told her I was going to report her to the NTAAB a place like BBB. And she cut me off and said oh your going to report me to the NAACP cause I'm a black woman talking to me like I was ignorant and she don't know what the NTAAB is a

READ IF YOU’VE READ THE OTHER ALL CAPS TITLED REVIEW BECAUSE IT SIMPLY ISN’T THE TRUTH 🤷🏼‍♀️ I have no idea what these other recent reviews are talking about because I can say from personal experience that the one, for… sure, is simply not factual. Increasing 5 mg every ten days?! No. That’s not how it works. They will increase you every single day at the beginning by either 5 or 10 mg in an effort to get you stable as quickly as possible because they truly want you to get clean. After you reach a certain mg you do have to ask for an increase but it is literally as simple as asking. You have to speak up but by that time, you’re on a dose much higher than 30 mg. I had to ask once I reached 60 but once I did, if I wanted more than 5 mg it was as simple as walking back, talking to a DOCTOR (no, not a nurse - also should mention seeing a doctor has never been an issue) and getting the increase. 5 mg and the nurse at the dosing window could do it themselves. As far as missing one day and being stepped down this is also simply not true. I know because in the beginning when I was still using, I missed A LOT of days. Not once was I ever decreased because of it. The only time you get a decrease because of AWOLs is if you’ve missed 3 days or more in which case (first of all why would you/what are you even doing?!) it’s a matter of safety and anyone with a brain would be understanding of that fact. Now that those things are addressed… this place is a literal life saver. I went here ten years ago when it was still on Cameron St but back then I didn’t really want to get clean. I can’t speak to how good it was then because I wasn’t putting in the work. Since then I’ve been to camp hill, Watsontown & back here again. This place far surpasses and others. The nurses are amazing, the receptionists are God’s gift honestly and I’ve met multiple counselors because of groups and they are all amazing as well. I love my counselor but I’ve been in situations at other clinics where I loved my counselor and they left and every one I was matched with after just wasn’t a good fit. I can say with confidence that even though it would be upsetting to lose my current counselor because she’s amazing, I would probably do just fine if put with any of the other ones I’ve met. They are all great. As with any place, there are minor annoyances but they are things that would happen anywhere that you simply cannot hold against any of the staff there. They all treat the patients with the utmost respect and compassion and you can tell they all really care about and believe in what they are doing. I really can’t say enough good things. The last thing I’ll mention is that in general, I avoid groups/group therapy like the plague and do it only if I HAVE to. I have been pleasantly surprised on more than one occasion with their groups. I actually get something out of them when that’s something I never saw happening based on previous experiences with group therapy settings. If you are at your wit’s end (and I know a lot of people are esp with xylazine on the streets right now) go here! I’ll be honest and say that if you are regularly using tranq adulterated substances, the methadone isn’t going to take care of the W/D from that but what they do is get you stable from the opiate W/D and then they have options (that don’t involve going to places ill equipped to handle your situation) to get you detoxed from the xylazine that are quick and pretty painless. They understand what’s going on out here at the moment and are more up to date on treatment than anywhere else I’ve talked to or tried to turn to. They know how to help and what it will take. Take the leap… you won’t regret it!

PLEASE READ IF DECIDING WHERE TO START TREATMENT! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CTC CONS- 1) ultra slow, one size fits all dosing. Pitiful 5 mg increase every 5 days starting at 30mgs. 1 missed day makes you start that increase… phase over and spend up to 10 days getting that 5mg. 2) Impossible to see doctor after Intake. Nurse practitoner at best, who is worthless. You're told to keep using until you feel better, regardless if you're limbs are falling off from zylazine (tranq) rot. Nevermind the ever present risk of death from OD or infection. 3) require EKGs after finally reaching 120mgs a year later. But you can't get one anywhere. 4) They dominate ad space and acquire smaller clinics as their own, MAKING THEM SEEM THE ONLY OPTION BUT THEYRE NOT. PROS- SOME GREAT STAFF. SOME HORRIBLE ARE OPEN UNTIL 12 LOTS OF GROUP OPTIONS AND TIMES ----> *** GO TO PPI IN HARRISBURG INSTEAD AND DO INTAKE WITH THEIR AIRS (METHADONE PROGRAM.).****.

I came to this place broken and with no other options left. MAT was something I was always warned would be worse then my addiction. But I’ve never been better, it took a little while at first to find the counselor I… truly trusted and was willing to open up to but once I did, life’s been great, yes I get curve balls and life’s ups and downs. But I don’t think about going back out and using when that happens. I use the tools I’ve learned over the years and with the MAT my body isn’t in constant pain or withdrawal so that gave me the time I needed to get acclimated into everyday life as a normal productive person. Now I’m tapering out and have lots of hope for my future. If it wasn’t for this place my sons wouldn’t have a father, my mom wouldn’t have a son and my siblings would be without a brother, I know I’d be in jail or dead by now. So thanks everyone at Discovery house. Especially you Mariah.

Discovery House changed my life and I’m finally living clean the way I want and have a job so I’m blessed to have it. Most the counselors care a lot but all the nurses and doctors treat u like a addict. The manager is… the worse part and she doesn’t know anything that’s going on but is always loud yelling or threatening to ‘snatch takehomes” instead of seeing her patients but if u avoid her your okay. You should still go get help if u need it!

The nurses are absolutely horrible at this location. There is one good nurse. Most of the staff is great. My counselor Beth is AMAZING. There’s things I love about this treatment center but then there’s those few staff… that ruin it for everyone else. The management needs to be updated here. I only gave one star just because some of the staff actually care where some of the nurses talk to you like you are trash.

My wife goes to this Clinic, not sure if we are allowed to mention names, so we will call her counselor "Ms.Pat"-Ms.Pat is very professional, caring and goes above and beyond to make sure Sandra's (Wife) recovery needs… come first!! I must mention she also takes time for me, if I need help with understanding anything...Ms.Pat is just the Best counselor we've worked with since Sandra's journey through recovery. I believe the Good Lord sent Ms.Pat to Us and for this We are Very Appreciative and Thankful! The Clinic itself is good. Sandra has never had any problems at all. So with that said, If you are Seriously ready to get your life under control and be drug free, I would Recommend The Descovery House in Harrisburg, They are helping my wife's Journey tremendously! A Huge Thank You to Ms.Pat 💞
