I love love loveeee the huckleberry house!!! They helped me get where I am today in life and I’ll forever be grateful for that whole staff but most importantly Ms.Erin Elder 🕊️ (may she rest in peace) she got me… involved with huckleberry and I’ve been blessed ever since. I love the whole staff like family!! Beautiful people 🥹🫶🏾🫶🏾💗💗💗💗
Can't go here because I'm 28 years old
My kid went there and came back full of pain
I took my daughter there for help and they called cps on me
I was trying to get help with my child took her there then they called cps on me wouldn't recommend this place at all it's a joke of a place they are not helping our kids
Amazing people top to bottom here.
1 star only due to good counseling team.my child was there 1 day and witness drug usage there and got bullied there and felt scared enough not to tell staff.good place for runaways but no one else.they don’t check bags… .metal detector was functioning but never checked anyone when it went off.do better huckleberry house!
I cant speak on any of the reviews of what they actual do here. But i must say its a fine looking house and well decorated. It would make a nice single family home for some affluent couple.
My son ran away and after cpd found him this was referred, had no clue what it was but thought it would be better to know he’s safe than running away. Well needless to say he was drinking and smoking weed while here!!!!… He’s 15!! They do not check bags when brought in nor do the watch children as needed! For my child this place was a joke!! Employees are a joke and my son was not safe here!! I removed him immediately!! Some children may need this place but mine used it as a free for all!! They do not supervise children that have jobs! So they can bring in anything!! Including when stuff is dropped off!! Do better huckleberry house!!
Don't really know much about it. The people that I met seem very nice.
Great that there is a "safe" location for youths to go to when in a crisis or dilemma with family life or the outside world. But overall could use a little more hands-on training and in-service with the staff. Along… with stricter "rules" for the individuals that are temporarily placed there for the time being of their stay. As the environment is not much safer than led to believe
41 years ago I ran away from home, I felt no love or caring at home, this place made me feel the opposite. They opened the doors and their hearts to me and I will spears be grateful.
Fails to mention they do not take adults.. only 14-17 year olds.. no help here.
Amazing outstanding Amazing 👏
I stayed there for 3-4 weeks in early 2016 after being attacked by my stepfather when I was 15. I had a lot of undiagnosed mental disorders and didn’t understand what was happening to me. The place is nice, it was clean… and seemed welcoming enough. Some of the staff were okay, but a lot of them were dismissive and eventually my case was dropped because my parents lied. Oh, and I got lost in the city when I was taking a COTA bus to school the first week I was there and when I called the place from a gas station phone (I didn’t have my own phone), they told me to just take another bus. No one came to pick me up. It was the middle of February and I was I was absolutely terrified, and I developed a fear of ever taking public transportation again due to that experience. My phobias and mental health was so bad that I ended up missing a lot of school and shut down. I don’t remember much else, but I refuse to comment on the caseworker. Don’t even remember their name. As I said before some of the staff were fine, but I still hold a deep resentment towards the caseworker and the place as a whole for dropping my case and for being neglectful when I- again being 15- got lost in the city in the middle of winter with no phone, no protection or anybody else to help me. I befriended a couple of the other kids there, I didn’t really talk to a lot of them and mostly just kept to myself, but asides from one girl who attacked me they were alright and I hope they’re all doing well now. I wouldn’t say it’s the worst place to be, but I don’t recommend staying here due to my experiences with it.
Great place and a the staff have such great and caring attitudes
All I have to say is this place picks up the slack for all the other help that is supposedly available. Children's hospital is a joke and has left me to deal with a child with mental health issues on my own. Huckleberry… has been a resource I've had to use 3 times now and each time they were able to give me the head space to find the proper care for my child who is need of great help. Thank you!
