I’d give it 0 stars if I could. I have been here since the age of 8 up to 20. Waste of time just to end up not get any recovery support . This place is full of lies and have violated many rules and guidelines, run don’t… walk from this place. Asking for help for them constantly and resources just for them not to care. I’m surprised how long I’ve been there just to get nothing out of it. Very unprofessional staff very rude .better places are out there do not waste your time here
When Donna Armstrong, the last administrator left, the place went down hill. So many people left, fired or just thrown out. This is a very bad place, run from it! I go to Thrive Counseling Center in Oak Park, they… Really Care!
Was a patient here 20-25 years ago and been having some problems and just want to get the same medicine I was on before. Apparently they make you go through therapy that I strongly disagree with. When I was there 25… years ago I did this so called therapy BS and the so called therapists didn't know what the hell is was even talking about. I kept having to repeat myself again and again and again. If they don't know what the hell I'm talking about then what's the point? I don't believe in therapy never have and never will. I just want to see the psychiatrist get my meds and be on my way. What a waste of time and money!!!
this place is not the same now 2024 i been here 9 yrs i left they just don't care and wanna hurt you more.DO NOT WASTH YOUR TIME HERE. IF YOU WANNA MOVE ON, THIS PLACE HERE IS 100% BETTER > Ascension Illinois - Center… for Mental Health Melrose Park Google it.
LEYDEN FAMILY SERVICE HAS DONE GREAT WORK WITH ASSISTING ELMBROOK SENIOR RESIDENCE. THEY ARE ALWAY READY TO LEND AN HELPING HAND TO OUR SENIORS. THANK GOD FOR LEYDEN FAMILY SERVICE... MY DAY RUNS SMOOTHLY WITH THEM TOO.
I’ve been going to Leyden Family Services for 9-10 years, and once I got accustomed to how the therapy process goes, I’ve grown to appreciate all they do to help me find my way through life.
Intake coordinator said that they only have group therapy for people who hallucinate. A joke of a facility. Do not waste your time calling for anxiety services.
The staff here really care and go above and beyond to help the community! There’s help and support for anyone that walks through the door. I’m grateful I came across them.
The staff here is great ever since they took me in and gave me a helping hand , just need to be patient, they do work around the clock to make everyone happy and make the best decision for the community and other… community:)
They treat me fairly well here, cannot complain. Through them i was able to get drug free for 3+ years, the longest i have ever been sober in my life, my therapist treats me well despite me being a bit of a weirdo, the… psychiatrist is good, the living room staff takes care of me too. They helped me with transportation too. Helped me quit my soda addiction as well. Usually this clinic is booked out like 3 months in advance, the bad reviews come from folks who are not willing to make any changes so they come on here and complain that the staff are not miracle workers. I have worked with jenny, monica, and dr couch. Good people in my opinion, they have a hard job. At living room i worked with brian, mark and joanne, absolutely amazing people. If you want to get the best of the treatment i recommend your first goal be to become a good person and contribute to society somehow.
If you asked me two months ago I would have said great. Just made a major breakthrough with my current therapist. Unfortunately I lost health insurance last November and would pay a minimal fee each visit. Over the… lockdown there were some billing discrepancies. I am self employed and once adjusted sent payment in advance to avoid no weekly annoyance calls over $5 co pay. When it comes to mental health to be dismissed over finances leaves me cold. Before the covid and my previous therapist moving on everything was cool. Meds working and feeling better. We are all struggling financially and mentally during this crisis but to be dismissed and referred elsewhere over a few dollars as being difficult deserves being mentioned. I'd expect better from mental health professionals and didn't get it here.
The staff was so helpful and gave me a lot of advice, guidance and helpful information about programs that would assist for weatherization on my new home and energy saving programs. Office is so well organized very… clean has a great smell and very welcoming
when here for i heap program very professinal service
By myself have dealt with similar issues as the last comment left. I was accused of missing appointments many appointments. I have a disability rating disease which I was being treated with some nasty medicine at the… time. I missed therapist meetings. Upon the therapist idea, he said we should have phone consultations when I'm not feeling good. The problem is I never had much warning until that morning. And he knew it I believe he do this to me because he knew this happened to me. One day I went in for an appointment. He told me I missed like 4. Realizing, later in the week that those were phone appointments that he came up with the idea we should do since I had this disease to talk to me and check in with me to be sure I was okay. I am positive my insurance was billed for this session as a therapist session. I believe he just forgot. Well, after I went in one time he accused me of being late. I showed him in my phone the time I had saved. I mean, I may have needed help at the time. However, I'm not an idiot either. Well I got a phone call. He told me if I want to come back it was his mistake he corrected the error. That I did not in fact, I miss all these appointments. In the meantime he took off my psychiatrist time that I waited months for and told me I'd have to start all over. Is that possibly a way to get so many therapy sessions out of you before you see a psychiatrist. Quite possibly medication helping will you don't need him as much? He repeatedly called me and Left 4 messages stating it was his fault. When I try to make an appointment, I was told I could not come back because of lack of no-shows. I paid for the 2 in full for to the night legitimately missed. Spoke to two coordinators who had to have a conference call with me. And I hit explain to them the situation and how sorry I was. And still told I could not come back. I don't understand personally, how a state-funded operation can have this happened to you where you are denied services. There are no other places to go. Options are limited when you are on public aid which that is why I have the disability rating disease. I am 56 years old and I have always had a good handle on things. I lost a family member and been grieving terribly. I do not know why this ever happened to me. And they seem to always find a way where they have to backup your psychiatrist appointment with dr. Crouch. This therapist called in and made it was his fault. But when I want to come back in a couple weeks once I was over the initial anger of the whole situation. And the therapist calling my phone for times and apologizing to me. It's just a shame that could happen to people with our limited resources in this area on this type of insurance. It's a wonder, most generally I would figure people who are on public aid have more problems than the people who don't because the people who are have more stressed out situations that they may need help with. I just think that is really unfair practice and that the state allows it to go on. I wish to God I was treated as nicely as some of these people say. I think I just had a therapist who had possibly too many patients and had me confused.
Great services, compassionate and caring people there!
Lied about their wait list to get me in. Lied about how many visits I needed to see an actual doctor. Lied about the time between needed # of visits and seeing a doctor. Once I saw a doctor, she (Dr. Couch) wouldn't let… me explain why I was there, wouldn't listen to my complaints about my meds. Told me the meds were fine but that I was just not smart enough to know they were working. When I called, once I found out the doctor had lowered my meds instead of changing them, the receptionist refused to speak with me and refused to help. This place prayes on poor people, because they know we have no recourse. If you are thinking of going here, don't. Wait the several months and see a real doctor (they are going to make you wait anyway). They should be ashamed to lie and take advantage of people who have so few options.
Just because you say you want to speak to a supervisor because you haven't got a call back in over a week and need help does not mean it is a threat. How horrible is that? I "threatened" you because I said I was going… to speak to your supervisor.
i've been coming hear for 1yr. its a great place A+ GREAT OUTPATIENT THERAPIST A+ MR. GOLDBERG IS A GREAT M.D A+ THIS PLACE MADE MY LIFE BETTER...TY =)
