Could not be more pleased with my treatment at Lifeskills Delray Beach php program. Both my therapists Sam and Shannon treated not only me but my family with respect and care and made my life and my stay at php very… enjoyable. Would recommend 10/10
I cannot say enough good things about this program! The staff take a comprehensive approach to your specific situation and then surround you with everything you need to be successful. My clinical team was absolutely… amazing! Shout-outs to Loren, Shannon, Sam and Dani (alumni coordinator). My success is directly related to all of their efforts. If you, or a loved one, are in need of help regarding substance abuse or mental health, please give them a call - you won’t regret it!
As someone in long term recovery, I’ve been speaking at this facility for the last 18 months for their weekly alumni meeting. It’s been an amazing experience to see how the group is ran by the alumni relations manager,… Dani, and being able to watch the growth of the program and its alumni. As much as I hope that my service has helped others, I feel as though I have myself gained so much by being in the presence of this group. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been heavily involved in alumni initiatives, from supporting their inaugural alumni reunion, to participating in a local 5K for recovery. It’s been incredibly special to see the alumni program grow into a thriving community of lifelong connection and support that I hope continues for many more years to come.
Lifeskills has been one of the best experiences of my life! I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to improve myself at this place. I’ve met great people and learned amazing skills to help me manage my mental… health and live a normal and healthy life. The treatment team is wonderful! My individual therapist Loren and family therapist Dr Maritza were amazing at helping guide me through my treatment in PHP and Silvana in IOP. Everyone from the techs, to the therapists, and Dani who runs the alumni program and keeps people connected after our time at Lifeskills have been more helpful than I could ever dream of! I highly recommend that anyone who is struggling with mental health and/or addiction to go to Lifeskills!
Life skills has been the toughest rehab I've been to because I have been challenged in ways other places didn't. The staff really care. A lot of them have had mental health issues themselves. When I arrived at life… skills months ago I was broken in a way I didn't think would be fixable. I used the resources that lifeskills provided and life skills allowed me and encouraged me to work with a Dr I knew from years before that had developed a program to help heal tbi. Between the therapy, the friends I made here, Alice who helped me eat right, Heather who is a great trainer and friend and the advanced cognitive training... I got myself back. I smile now and I'm grateful. Shout out to Danni, Ed and Tia. Also shout out to Nic and Kayla.Thank you!
Alumni program is great and extremely helpful for transitioning clients into the next phase of life. Definitely recommend the aftercare program.
The delray PhP is worse than the residential. To get your meds, you have to walk a very long way to a small house in which you line up behind a small window from behind the house, scary stuff. They deny people to call… police/ authorities when they want to report severe criminal activity. Lifeskills kept me as an inpatient for 2 months!!!! while I was not suicidal, psychotic or unstable. They accepted my marchman act which contains a ton of FALSIFIED EVIDENCE . It's a disgusting business filled with fighting, people escaping, violence, stealing, sexual assaults, and traumatic experiences. "Doctor" Alex is the least compassionate therapist I've ever met, she is extremely cold and bully like. I now have clinical PTSD from this place and require a ton of REAL therapy.. ALSO 1 supervisor was making extreme slanders against Jewish people and another supervisor called a black patient a “gorilla”! ALSO there was a guy putting live frogs and lizards in the microwave.. and when you tell staff they do NOTHING Also they used diagnoses for myself that lawyers came up with STAY AWAY! This place is nothing but run down half way houses!! Literally!!! Broken beds, broken electrical , almost no silverware…. Mold and dirt all over floors.
As the parent of an alumni of the Lifeskills PHP and IOP program, I continue to be supported and educated by the extraordinary team of family therapists, through Family Alliance meetings! When my child was in treatment,… I was invited to be part of family therapy weekly and I learned so much about myself, my role in our treatment and recovery and the impact I could make in our family healing. Now, a year later, I am grateful each week to be invited to the weekly Family Alliance online presentations, led by Lifskills family therapists for families of clients in treatment presently, and alumni families! I have found it to be a valuable resource for myself and my family! Each of the exceptional therapists brings experience and expertise that offers a wide variety of skills to families. I especially appreciate that there is time each week for families to share and ask questions. We all learn from one another's journey. Thank you Lifskills for the many ways you educate and guide your clients and families! It is my pleasure to highly recommend Lifeskills inpatient and outpatient services!
This place saved my life, and I am forever grateful for the life I live today.
LifeSkills South Florida has been a truly life-changing experience. The staff genuinely care about every client and go above and beyond to create a supportive, welcoming environment. Their professionalism, compassion,… and dedication make a real difference in people’s lives. The program provides the structure, tools, and guidance needed to build a healthier, more fulfilling future. Everyone is treated with respect, and it’s clear that the team is invested in each person’s success, both during treatment and beyond. If you or someone you love is looking for a place that offers exceptional care and a strong sense of community, I highly recommend LifeSkills South Florida. I’m incredibly grateful for everything they’ve done and can’t thank the staff enough.
I came to Lifeskills when weekly therapy wasn't enough for what I was going through, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made. They went far beyond helping me through the acute crisis. Using CBT, DBT,… interpersonal, and trauma-based therapy, we got to the deep roots of my struggles, deeper than any treatment I'd had before. My primary therapist, Silvana, was kind, compassionate, and truly made me feel understood, while also using tough love when I needed it. Her Rapid Resolution work has done wonders. Huge thanks as well to Kayla, Jody, Vidi, and Intern Jen, who ran group sessions with so much empathy and knew exactly when to be gentle and when to push. Honest cons: the insurance/billing cycles were confusing (though staff was always eager to help), and there's a fish tank that gets surprisingly loud during some groups. Minor stuff. I'd recommend Lifeskills to anyone seeking great mental health or addiction recovery treatment. Thank you all so much.
Amazing therapist, techs, and workers here! I was here a little over two years ago and created lasting relationships with my fellow clients. Housing was very nice and clean. Overall great experience!!
Coming here was the biggest gift I could’ve ever received. If you need any sort of help, this is the place to go to. I live out of state, and I knew from an one hour assessment and tour, this was the right fit. All the… staff are incredible! After being in therapy on and off for 8 years, I finally have coping skills and my nervous system has been fully reset. They teach you how to change your perspective, how to reach out for help when you need it, coping skills, and much more! Honestly it was like summer camp with therapy and groups. Everyone becomes like family. Sharing experiences can surprisingly help you learn about yourself, and your needs, as well as helping others. If I post one google review, it will be for this recovery center. Please consider coming here, I can’t recommend it enough, I don’t know where I’d be without them!
LifeSkills did a great job helping stabilize and come out of psychosis. I’m in much better physical and mental condition thanks to the great staff, community and support. I definitely recommend working this program and… wish the best to everyone focusing on themselves and seeking treatment!!
My time at Lifeskills was manageable. I went through a lot of trauma before coming to outpatient and while in it but the clinical team helped me get through it. I had a lot of freedom here and I felt happy to wake up… everyday. My therapist allowed me to go fishing during the weekdays before programming. I realised that I didn’t have to try hard to remember the skills they taught me because over time and exposure they became natural. I was very happy with the clinical team. But I say this because I chose to make the best of it. I will say that clients seem to be a little undervalued by the higher ups. I think the staff does everything they can to help the clients but the higher ups make it seem like a money grab. They give you $70 a week for all expenses. The housing is about $6500 a month which is ridiculous. A lot of people are extremely over medicated. Also I “slept” on a rock hard bed for 2 months. It really can feel like you’re back in high school being here. I’d say that the clinical team definitely try’s to help (therapists). Dr spaedy was ok but still loads people up on meds. and the staff does their best but the people in charge of them are in it for the money. It’s very evident when you see the ceo pull up in his Porsche but we have falling apart plastic chairs to sit in for hours a day. I will say they did just get new chairs but after I left php of course. Also at residential my therapist Paul threw a bunch of labels on me and in a period of 90 days I had 3 personal sessions with him. I think that there are genuine people here that work here but honestly there’s a lot of corruption that needs to be investigated here.
Outpatient was a great transition from residential to the “real world”. Small steps oppose to drastic change. Helpful with finding job support as well as AA meeting search. Also transitioned from LifeSkills living… arrangements to a sober living local to the area. Process was seamless and staff was helpful along the way.
Great Alumni program to support recovery
The care and compassion showed by Dani, the alumni coordinator, is unmatched. The dedication and professionalism is evident by her every day actions.
Place blows.
5 stars, This place is a great stepping stone for clients, the staff is great, they have healthy groups where anyone is welcome to share. They are really good with young adults.
I am incredibly grateful for the team at Lifeskills. As an attorney who works closely with families navigating substance use and mental health crises, I have seen firsthand how important it is to have trusted treatment… partners who truly care. Lifeskills consistently provides compassionate, ethical, and high quality care to the individuals and families they serve. Their team communicates well, treats families with empathy and respect, and approaches recovery in a thoughtful and individualized way. It gives me real peace of mind knowing that when I refer someone to Lifeskills, they are in capable and caring hands. Thank you to the entire Lifeskills team for the work you do every day to help people rebuild their lives.
My experience with this place was positive. I’ve gotten good intensive care, and I feel much more prepared for life as well as future challenges. Miguel is awesome. He pushes me to excel in areas of my life. Cheryl, the… family therapist has also helped me repair my relationship with my family members. While the therapists are very efficient, Jackie, a tech is not as customer friendly as the other techs. Other than that I would recommend this place to friends and family members going through the same thing I have.
This place provided me with a cocoon in which to emerge as the new me!
I attended Life Skills outpatient in 2023 and it was an amazing experience, so much so that I got involved with the alumni group years later to check in with my peers that had also attended. The outpatient program… offered me great family and personal therapy aided me greatly. The stuff is friendly and professional. The program itself was informative and thorough. Can’t recommend it enough for a family member struggling with addiction or mental health complications.
Great therapists esp Dr Laura
I completed the entire Life Skills program, a full nine months. This review reflects my experience specifically with the PHP portion of Life Skills. Overall, the therapy and group programming were strong. I genuinely… enjoyed the clinical side of Life Skills PHP and found it helpful and well run. Unfortunately, my experience with the housing component—Osceola—was extremely negative. Although Osceola is owned by Life Skills, it operates as a completely separate entity, and the difference in quality was stark. My experience there was difficult, and the majority of clients I lived with reported similar issues. The tech staff was consistently unprofessional and frequently invaded clients’ personal space. There were several thefts during my stay, including personal property stolen from the tech office, which was supposedly locked and secure. One tech in particular, Bill, was repeatedly rude and unprofessional and should not be working in that environment. I was put in a very difficult position because I truly valued and respected the clinical side of Life Skills, yet the housing experience at Osceola was a nightmare. This disconnect significantly impacted my overall experience in the program.
The Deerfield and Delray Beach LifeSkills facilities are top-notch. Shoutout to Freeman, Liza, Magda, Dr. Laura, and Reid. While I didn’t make nearly as much progress as I did during residential treatment, the group and… family therapy sessions I found very helpful. I also appreciate Liza greatly, as she’s very, very professional, and keeps it very real with you. She does not sugarcoat anything, and while some may misinterpret that as hostility, I found it very refreshing how she’ll give you her professional opinion straight to you. The way that Liza runs groups make it very easy to focus on what really matters, despite recurrent interruptions, specifically in the human sexuality and wellness group. This method of intervention maximizes the potential for an individual client to further sort out the issues that they have presented with. My favorite things about this facility was it’s in very close proximity to the intercoastal, along with the unlimited Keurig pods that are provided throughout the day. I also loved how tons of natural lighting shines throughout the building from the many windows and skylights. I had the option of a cappuccino, hot chocolate, light roast, dark roast, and Cuban espresso ground pods. (I had 4-7 cups of espresso/dark roast coffee per day) FREEMAN IS THE MAN!!!! Very very funny but professional and a highly experienced employee. I found at least 80% of the staff in this facility to be not only a great fit for their positions, but just very caring and understanding around the board.
My daughter Participated in Lifeskills Outpatient Program right after a being at Lifeskills Deerfield following a severe bipolar manic episode. This proved to be an essential step in her journey back to being herself.… She received great care from her therapist and the group sessions helped her realize she is not alone and gave her the hope she needed. Happy to say she is doing well, functioning, working, more social and healthy relationships with family and new friends. We are very grateful for the support Lifeskills gave us specially during Family Alliance sessions and post continued support of Alimni Relations, lead by Dani Lozzi
In the four years since I've entered Lifeskills I've gotten a good job, I own my home and a vehicle, and have taken my medication every day. Still, I feel that my recovery is in its infancy. My recovery is like a… bicycle with training wheels, and Lifeskills is the training wheels for my recovery. I intend to take them off eventually, and I do not know how Lifeskills or any of the supporting cast from there fit into my recovery or even if we will maintain contact. While I may be sad if our relationships end it may be for the best. I think the supporting cast at Lifeskills should get a raise! I suppose it can be likened to the book "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro. The Halesham students never go back to their alma mater, and learn to live their lives with purpose when they choose to. I think this analogy works because life will happen despite us; we have the option to accept life on life's terms or to fail existentially and let it consume us. The major differences between the book and Lifeskills alumni are that Lifeskills alumni can lead much longer lives if we so choose. Drugs and alcohol are hard to beat, mental health sometimes feels like an exercise in futility, and all we can do is learn to cope and accept it as it comes both the good and the bad.
