State Funded Rehab Centers in Florida

State-funded rehab in Florida means substance use treatment paid for, in whole or in part, with public money that flows through the Florida Department of Children and Families. The department’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Program is the single state authority under Chapters 394 and 397 of Florida Statutes. It contracts with regional Managing Entities, and those Managing Entities pay network service providers to treat residents who have little or no insurance.

Programs in Florida that list state or public funding sit close to the coast. Of those programs, 72 percent are within 25 miles of the shoreline, at a median of 5 miles. The listings draw on government treatment registers, state licensing records, accreditor listings and details the providers themselves send in.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions about State Funded Rehab

Answered from what is listed here.

Which Florida cities have state-funded rehabs?

Jacksonville leads Florida for state-funded rehabs, followed in order by Kissimmee, Daytona Beach, Ocala and Tallahassee. Listings for publicly funded programs cluster mainly in these cities, so a search for care paid with public money usually starts in one of them.

Readers in Miami, Orlando or West Palm Beach can also search close to home, since state-funded programs are not limited to the cities with the largest clusters across Florida.

State Funded Rehab Centers in Jacksonvillehttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/florida/jacksonville-fl/state-funded-rehab-jacksonville/
Can I use Florida Medicaid for state-funded rehab?

Members on Florida Medicaid can use it at most of the state-funded rehabs in Florida, with care running through a Statewide Medicaid Managed Care health plan such as Sunshine Health, Molina Healthcare, Simply Healthcare or Humana Medical Plan. That plan's network shapes which programs are available.

Rehab Centers in Florida That Accept Florida Medicaidhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/florida/florida-medicaid/
Are there state-funded rehabs near a river in Florida?

Most of the state-funded rehabs in Florida sit within 25 miles of a river, at a median of about 8.9 miles from listed facilities to the nearest one. The North Fork Miami River, North Fork Middle River and Earman River are the waterways named most frequently near these programs.

Rehab Centers Near Rivershttps://rehabseekers.com/attractions/rivers/

How does state-funded addiction treatment work in Florida?

Florida funds public treatment through the Department of Children and Families (DCF), which passes money to Managing Entities that contract with local network providers. The federal Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant is one major source. DCF passes the grant’s rules down through each Managing Entity contract. State dollars add to that money.

The Florida State Opioid Response Project runs from September 2024 to September 2027 and covers opioid and stimulant use disorders. It pays for hospital bridge programs that start medication, naloxone distribution and recovery housing. Opioid settlement spending is a separate stream. The Statewide Council on Opioid Abatement reviews that spending and advises state and local government. These are funding sources, not open services, so availability still depends on the provider you call.

Florida’s licensing rule applies to every program, public or private. DCF licenses substance use providers under Chapter 397, and s. 397.401 makes it unlawful to operate as one without a license. A state-funded clinic and a private-pay clinic can hold the same license and the same accreditation. Each listing shows the license and accreditation status the provider reports.
